The Hudson Hounds family is devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Brody. To say our hearts are broken is the most supreme of understatements.

While we love each and every dog we’ve cared for over the years, Brody has been the uncontested heart-dog of Christine, Aaron, and Noelle since he joined us in the early 2010’s as a puppy, at the beginning of Hudson Hounds. The amount of time we spent together over these past 10 years is incalculable, but every moment was a joy. Brody was more than just a friend, we considered him family.

You may have seen him in photos over the years, or heard his reputation as an ‘ambassador dog’ who helped new attendees acclimate as a friend to dogs big and small. Brody was the best friend to our dog, Jasmine, and provided Christine with comfort and affection during her battle with cancer, and unwavering companionship and a scruff to cry into for Aaron and Noelle. No matter how heavy the heart was, having Brody around was a guaranteed smile.

In short, Hudson Hounds would not exist as it does today, if not for Brody. Our company’s logo was actually made with his likeness in mind. This past week knowing he no longer roams this earthly plain with us has been one full of tears, old photos, and an unyielding heartache. To grieve this heavily only speaks to the depth of the love we had, and will always have for him.

To that end, we are so grateful to Brody’s family for allowing us to care for him, love him so intensely, for his whole life. We are grateful to Brody for sharing the ten years of his too-short life with us, and gifting us the lives and careers we ourselves enjoy today.

We already miss his perfect pudding-face, his infectious smile, how he would slowly take up the mattress space overnight until we dangled off the edge, when he’d chase us around the yard making his signature Brody-call. It’s impossible to catalogue a whole decade of memories so precious, which is why we will be sharing more photos.

Goodbye, Brody (Chief Brody, Broseph, Bro-Bro, Brodito, Mr Sunshine, The Brodominable Broman, Mr Perfect, The Prince, Tapioca-Face etc). We will miss you for the rest of our lives, however long that may be. 💛💔☀️
