This Veterans Day, we honor the courage, resilience, and journey of each Veteran navigating the civilian world with strength shaped by unique experiences.
At Stucker, Smith & Weatherly, we recognize that trauma does not define our Veterans; rather, it’s a part of their story—one they continue to reshape every day.
An inspiring reflection on this journey comes from Shannon Knapp, Executive Director of Heart of Horse Sense, who writes about the parallel experiences of horses and Veterans with PTSD. As Shannon explains, horses—much like humans—live with strong, survival-driven instincts yet learn to navigate complex human environments with patience, support, and adaptability.
"Similarly, although our Veterans may have significant challenges as a result of trauma they experienced, they are still much more than that moment or those moments in their lives."
Today, we honor the strength and resilience of our Veterans, celebrating their courage as they continue to adapt, grow, and thrive. Let us stand beside them with the respect and gratitude they inspire in all of us.
