Reposted from @allergicrescuerskl Today's highlight is our miracle cat - Leon! Leon had suffered a horrific accident that degloved his entire chin and jaw, with his lower mouth, teeth, and even bone exposed and infected when we found him. Despite the excruciating pain, he never displayed distrust or fear - all he wanted was to be loved. Our vet did an amazing job reconstructing his jaw and chin, which allowed him to eat, drink, and groom again. His smile will always be a little lopsided, but it only adds to his personality.
Leon also fought off severe pneumonia and a terrible ear infection and was then diagnosed with the wet form of FIP. Under the love and care of our teammate, Alda @parkmypets he was injected with an experimental drug for 99 days followed by 147 days of observation. Today, we can proudly say LEON DID IT, he's officially an FIP survivor! We're extremely grateful to all our supporters for the love shown to him!
Leon is the happiest and most friendly boy despite all the pain and trauma he's been through. He's also a loving 'Uncle' to foster kittens in Alda's home. This happy-go-lucky boy is now officially up for adoption. Though he has chronic kidney disease, he's better than he's ever been and deserves to be spoiled. If you’ve been looking for a cuddly, patient, loyal companion, Leon is it! Do reach out to adopt if you are in Klang Valley, Malaysia.

For us, our vet team is an integral part of our team and operations.
But sadly we’ve recently come across pets dying from not performing diagnostic tests or attention to detail. For example, we recently pulled out a kitten from hospitalization, because he was cold and nearly lifeless in his cage. They were “not aware” of his temperature - so we rushed him immediately to our usual vet where he’s now almost completely recovered. 😑
Below is a very simplified list, and there will ALWAYS be exceptions to the rule. But for the sake of your own beloved furry family member, make sure your vet does these things (and trust your gut):
1. Very basic physical checks - weight, temperature, asking you questions about symptoms or recent change in habits. The eyes, ears, inside the mouth, heartbeat, lungs.
2. If your pet is displaying symptoms, a cytology (taking a drop of blood/sample to check under the microscope) is a quick, non-invasive way to check for basic clues. If something is still off, then a complete blood count (CBC) may be necessary. Ideally, your vet should not diagnose serious illnesses (eg. kidney/liver issues, FIP, etc.) without this. If they do, then it’s a mere guess and a second opinion may be warranted.
3. Animal diagnostic tests are still often limited and a process of elimination is necessary. In that case, hopefully your vet shares with you what their thought process is. What diseases/conditions are they suspecting and what steps are they taking to eliminate the possibilities? If they do not/cannot provide you with an adequate explanation or are not willing to answer your questions, it might be time for a second opinion.
4. Please note, some diagnostics tools like X-rays and ESPECIALLY ultrasounds are very operator dependent. So depending on who did the imaging and who is interpreting, the diagnosis may end up different, so please be aware and get a second opinion.
Communication is key. If you
Happy (belated) International Cat Day!
Everyday I am grateful for all of life's creations, especially each these furry ones. The joy, the entertainment, unconditional love, growth and learning they also bring to our existence.
It is a gift, to be able to care and be able to learn to live with these amazing creatures.
Recently, people think, it may not impact me much, here in cat kingdom as there are still many other cats around to love, so with the loss of two, it would be easy easy get over? And hope I get over it soon.
Wrong. In my space, I'm connected with ALL - each and every living one under my roof. I have an energetic connection with each every one. Each brings their own energy into my home and family that's truly unique. I can feel every one of them, especially ones that are more physically attached to me (like Bandit), it's a bigger feel. So it's a silly notion, if you had human kids, would you say the same if you lost one of your kids? 🤷♀️
Grieving is also a beautiful process, unique and sacred to every person as our own relationships and connection to every soul is also unique. Respect this space. Without love, we don't know loss. Without dark, we don't know light. It's part of the life flow of the human experience on this planet.
So with this, I hope every each and one of you relish and embrace every moment time to celebrate, everyday, with your own cats and furkids. Give them a hug for us ❤❤
Everyday is an international cat day❤

Smokey FIP Warrior
Living life to the fullest now.❤
Smokey wants to share some of his self-care rituals to everyone.
Since stress is what activated his FIP once upon a time, Smokey now is a zen master and expert with self-care practices for a healthier Mind, Body and Soul and he wants to share with you.
Set up a ritual during this lockdown to love you more. Self-care is about being good to yourself, more importanly, good for your mental health, anxiety, stress and self-esteem, especially during these unique times of a global pandemic.
Here's some of his top ten daily tips you can think of building into a ritual:
1. BE SELFISH. Do one thing everyday just cause it makes you happy. (Smokey has no issues asking for face massages)
2. UNPLUG for an hour daily. Turn your phone off, all electronics, notifications, social media, email... everything.
3. MAKE SMALL CHANGE IN DIET - drink an extra glass of water a day or when you wake up, eat an apple, eat half cup more vegetables, do a meatless Monday.. etc.
4. BREATHE DEEP - don't forget to breathe. Breathe deep. Set an alarm daily for a time where you will check in with your breath, breathe deep and slow, three to five deep breaths.
5. FIX A SMALL ANNOYANCE at home that's been bothering you. The light bulb that's been out, organize that cat treat drawer... trim the dead leaves off those plants.
6. CLOUD WATCHING - just take a small moment everyday for 10 minutes just lie down and watch the clouds in the sky
7. START GRATITUDE list. Get a notebook and write one thing you are grateful for or you appreciate when you wake up or before you go to sleep.
8. START COMPLIMENTS LIST/JAR - write down all the compliments everyone has given your or even you give yourself
9. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FURCHILDREN. Whether it's petting them, talking to them, connecting with them or playing with them
10. DECLUTTER - have a box, find one thing everyday you will give away, throw away or be able to recycle.
Any more idea
