RECALL ADVANCED OBEDIENCE-TRANSITIONING FROM ON LEASH TO OFF LEASH
Starts:January 8th
Time:9:30-10:30
We all get frustrated when we call our dog, they take of and run the other way. Too often we give them too much freedom before they are ready for it. There is nothing more important than a dog who comes when they are called, especially when there are high distractions. Recall is one of the most important commands that we teach our dogs, we want them to be safe. Dogs love to work. A dog who has a job and uses its brain is a happier and more confident dog. Beyond training, Recall Advanced Obedience not only challenges your dog it teaches you how to build a strong relationship and partnership with them. You will develop skills to handle your dog in any situation whether they are on or off leash.
Topics covered:
Recall with distractions, advanced healing on and off leash, holding a down, sit and standing stay with high distractions (other dogs chasing balls and toys, recalling away from playing dogs). Also, commands on the move, i.e. taking a down and standing stay command while in motion, impulse control, a solid leave it.
TREK AND TRAIN
Starts: January 8th
Time:3:30-4:30
Trek and Train provides the opportunity to work on obedience commands, loose leash walking and social skills/etiquette in new and challenging environments. Beyond obedience, you will learn how to handle and work in partnership with your dog. We will work on impulse control and desensitizing your dog to different distractions such as dogs, people, food, birds, ducks, animals, motion, sounds, objects etc. Controlling a dogs impulse is the
foundation to developing a well- mannered and trained dog you can take anywhere.
