Congrats to these 5 for earning their CGCU tonight!

AKC urban CGC is a public access test that demonstrates dogs are well-behaved and well-trained in public settings. It requires that dogs demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in a setting that includes traffic, crowds, noises, smells and other distractions.

Tonight they saw runners, bikes, grating that moved and a flailing arm inflatable tube man. Downtown offers many distractions that dogs would not normally have in their day-to-day life.

If you have an older dog that hasn't been through classes our Basic Manners class is the perfect place to start!

Dog training is a great way to bond with your dog and to prepare him to socialize with people and other pets and to participate in dog sports.

Our STAR Puppy class is a great start to your training adventure with your new Puppy. This class is for all Puppies 4 - 12 months old.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title.

Does your dog already have The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) or has mastered all the basic skills? Then the Advanced class is for you. This class will focus on the Canine Good Citizen Advanced and Urban. Along with that the class will focus on are are duration in stay, Heeling, Distractions, Engagement, Recalls and more.

Your journey doesn’t have to end once you and your dog earn your Canine Good Citizen award. There are tons of other opportunities to continue to grow your knowledge and skills, strengthen the bond with your dog, and enjoy rewarding, enriching and fun activities together.

What is Canine Good Citizen (CGC)?

We believe that all dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners, all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and of course, plenty of praise along the way.

That’s why we Offer the AKC Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) program: an expert-made training program designed to help you and your dog be the best you can be–together.

Canine Good Citizen is a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.

New this Spring is a class focused on all elements of the Canine Good Citizen. This class is for dogs that have gone through a basic class. If you haven't gone through class but feel your dog is ready message us!

AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program is the gold standard of behavior for dogs in our communities. One million dogs, purebred and mixed breed, have earned CGC.

We will also be offering Canine Good Citizens and Trick Dog Evaluations for $15.

We will have door prizes and a raffle on Saturday for all that attend!

The Victoria Dog Obedience Club wants to thank you for entering our Trial. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are having to cancel the trial (September 16 & 17). We are truly sorry for this inconvenience.

All entry fees will be refunded 100%. If you paid by check the check will be destroyed. If you paid by PayPal you will be issued a full refund.

In Lieu of our Trial we will be offering a free come and go training day to all who entered our trial.
