At 7 months old and 6 pounds a puppy born without her 2 front legs and only 1 functional back leg was abandoned at an LA Shelter. Because of her "disabilities" she was deemed as un-adoptable and was placed on the euthanasia list. A shelter volunteer reached out to Synergy Rescue and Sanctuary in Vista,CA and a call to action was posted by Synergy to come together to change this little girls future
. Amazing people answered the post and within 24 hours transport, fosters and donations for medical costs were in place. I was one of the people who saw the original post with her shelter picture posted by Synergy the first day (photo can be seen in our Page Albums). I cross post and share for rescue and foster/adopt animals every day, and every day my heart hurts because I cannot do more. When I saw the Synergy post for this tiny little girl, I knew she was meant to join my little family. Minutes later I found myself emailing Synergy about adopting her. Carla, the director of Synergy Rescue named her Nubbins, an affectionate reference to the two "nubs" she had where her front legs never formed. Synergy had her fully checked and assessed by San Diego Animal Hospital, after it was determined that surgery for her second back leg was not a good option, Eddies Wheels was contacted about having a custom made quad cart made for her. While the cart was being built, Nubbins received amazing love and care from her foster moms Lisa and Darrien. For the next 2 months while her custom cart was built, I received photos, videos and updates about Nubbins progress from Carla and Nubbins foster moms. I drove from Arizona to Del Mar,CA and attended the fundraiser Synergy was hosting along with two other rescue organizations. At the closing of the fundraiser the official adoption was finalized. I will never be able to say thank you enough to the wonderful people who made it possible for me to love and be loved by this amazing little miracle girl. Carla the Director of Synergy, so kind and helpful. She was always available to help me with any questions. She is an amazing force in her dedication to animals and her inspiring original art work. Lisa and Darrien, Nubbins amazing foster moms. They took such dedicated and loving care with Nubbins. Meeting these amazing people has been an amazing experience and now they are all part of Nubbins new journey here in Arizona.
