Meet Tammy, a resilient mom who has been through hell and back, yet still found the strength to raise her puppies and ensure they were safe. Rescued from a high-kill, Tammy was on the euthanasia list before finding her way to a loving foster home, where she now enjoys a second chance at life.

At just 8-10 months old (12/6) old and 38 lbs, Tammy is a medium-sized mixed breed with a heart full of love. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and one of the most cuddly and snuggly dogs her foster has ever met. Tammy has a mellow energy but is always up for a hike or an adventure. She’s great with kids (ages 4 and up) and absolutely loves other dogs & even gets along with cats! She’s even learning how to play with toys!

Boomer’s Best Buddies has a pretty pair of parakeets available for adoption! Meet Twig & Branch!

Twig (green male) & Branch (blue female) are 3 years old. They were surrendered to the rescue when their family could no longer care for them. They are very chatty! Moe is a sweet, gentle, absolutely wonderful dog. He's a senior at 10 years old, but still has pep and loves walks and playtime.

He's a coonhound mix.

Moe gets on well with other dogs, and adores people. He's great with children. He's currently living with 2-year-old twins! He should not, however, live with cats or other small animals.

He is a calm dog who will win your heart in no time! He is house trained and knows his basics.

Please help Moe out! He needs to move quickly and we'd love to see him all settled in a new home for the holidays!

Oscar is an affectionate boy with his people. He can be people selective, but comes around to people in time when they respect his boundaries and let him initiate interaction first. This is not a dog that will immediately be social with everyone. He needs some time to trust people.

He’s a really cool dog who has the potential for dog sports (rally, dock, disc, barn hunt). Or to be your next hiking partner and cuddle buddy.

PLEASE MAKE THEIR CHRISTMAS WISH COME TRUE! SHARE THEIR STORY! 🙏🎄

Boomer’s Best Buddies Rescue has 6 kittens who were rescued off of the streets of West Hartford in early September. They were lovingly cared for in foster and in October, their mama Suzy went to be spayed/vaccinated. While there she was tested for FELV and sadly came back positive. This means the kittens were also exposed and +. We are having them retested on Monday and hope that there may be some good news, but we must go under the assumption that they will have the diagnosis. This means they are looking for special families!

The kittens are healthy, happy, playful, and loving. You would never know there is anything wrong, however, they must live without other cats unless they are also FELV+. It is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals and they’d be happy to live with any of them. We need them to be adopted in pairs since they have become quite bonded. The tabbies are Ginger and Cinnamon, the gray Rosemary with her brother Dill, and the two black siblings, Sage and Basil. The kittens are now about 4-4.5 months old. Meet Tyii! 🐶

Tyii is one of three dogs our rescue is trying to help find a new place to call home, but we cannot help him without a foster! Tyii is a Shepherd mix weighing in at approx 55lbs.

This sweet and affectionate boy is looking for an active family to continue his training and give him all of the love he deserves. He would make a fantastic addition to any home. He is great with cats, kids and dogs of all sizes! He loves being outside and playing with his friends and would make a wonderful hiking partner.

Tyii is urgently looking for a foster or foster to adopt situation. His current situation is not ideal and we are committed to doing everything we can to get him into a safe and loving environment.

They will all be going for their spay and neuter on Monday 12/9 and we plan to have them retested to confirm the diagnosis. Right now, they are all healthy, happy, playful, and loving! 🐾♥️

Because the sanctuary we hoped to send them to is full, we are praying that we can find *3* wonderful families willing to open their home to our special BONDED PAIRS. They’re great with dogs, small animals, and children. The kittens can only live with other FELV+ kitties. All About the Dogs Rescue

Adam was adopted over a year ago. Sadly, he is going to need to come back into the rescue. Although he and his canine sister do well together most of the time, there have been a couple of vigorous disagreements and we and Adam's mom agree that the best course is for him to come back into the rescue as quickly as possible. That needs to happen by Saturday and we are desperately trying to avoid boarding for him. Adam is about 2-1/2 years old. He's an energetic, happy, friendly dog who loves people and would love an active family. He's accustomed to being able to run around in a fenced yard and we'd love for him to be able to do that in his new home.

He will likely do best as an only dog, at least until our trainer has a chance to re-evaluate him. He is good with other dogs the vast majority of the time but can be possessive of high value treats and toys. So playmates - probably, roommates - unlikely. He will be fine living with teenaged children. However he should not live with cats.

Adam is totally accustomed to home life. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basics.

We will give preference to families with experience with rescue dogs in general, and bully breed dogs in particular.

As we said at the beginning of this post, Adam needs to move quickly for everyone's sake, including his. Please don't delay in filling out the application, if you're able to foster him, and please private message the page with any questions.

As we try to find placement for the dogs already in our rescue, we also stand behind dogs who have been adopted out by us previously. One of those dogs is Larry, and we received a phone call today that, sadly, he needs to come back to us. We will be getting more information from his dad, but in the meantime we are starting the process of finding a foster for him. Larry came to us in 2019 from Waterbury Dog Pound. He was - and is - a friendly boy who loves people and has historically been good with other similar sized dogs (we always do a meet and greet as part of placement).

He's a pit bull mix, now about 6-1/2 years old, who loves car rides, knows his basics, and has the most amazing ears! 🙂

He loves being with his people, and would enjoy a securely fenced yard where he can play (not an absolute requirement).

He has lived with children and done well with them.

Please help us to bring Larry back into the rescue quickly!

Raven is a delightful 2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing in at 40 lbs. With her incredibly soft fur, she is truly the best cuddle buddy you could ask for! Raven enjoys playing with her toys, having fun with her four-legged friends, and going on exciting adventures. When she’s not exploring, you'll find her happily sitting in your lap, soaking up all the love during cuddle time.

After spending 8 months at a local shelter, Raven has blossomed in her foster home and is thriving! She is both crate-trained and housebroken, making her a great addition to any family. Due to her size, she would do best in a home with older kids (12+) and would prefer a cat-free environment, but likes other dogs!

PENDING PLACEMENT

Loki is currently searching for a new forever home! This gorgeous 11 month old Shepherd mix is looking for a new owner to help him with basic training! He is smart, and knows some commands but needs an owner who will continue to work with him to build routine and structure.

Loki is good with dogs and cats! He would need to go to a home with a dog savvy cat as he is still a puppy, and that playful energy can be a little intimidating for some felines. We would suggest a home with older children due to his size. He is fully crate trained and does best in a crate when left alone.

TIGGER has lived a life of international adventure. Not all of it was good. Some of it was downright terrifying and he barely escaped with his life. But now he's back and ready to find his forever home.

TIGGER and his friend MAXWELL were originally adopted in CT by a man who lived in Stratford. In 2020 they moved to Africa, but life there didn't turn out as they had hoped. The move was bad for TIGGER and MAX, and then tragically, their dad was killed in a motorcycle accident in August 2023, which left the boys stranded in Kenya where they had little to no hope of getting out alive.

They spent several months at the KSPCA Mombosa while their CT rescue, Zen Dog CT worked frantically to raise the $11,000 needed to bring them home to CT. (We knew TIGGER & MAX before they moved to Africa and helped our friends at Zen Dog bring them back, so we are dedicated to helping both dogs find their forever homes.)

TIGGER & MAX flew back to the US in March 2024 and have spent the past months decompressing from their ordeal and reconnecting with life in the US. While they live together in a foster home in Milford, CT, they are not looking to be adopted together.

TIGGER is 9.5 years old. He loves to go for leisurely walks and play with his stuffed donut, but other than that he's a couch potato and lap dog.

TIGGER would be fine with another friendly, laid back dog, but frankly, he'd be really happy as a single dog in a home where his human dotes on him. He is good with cats and currently lives with one very playful cat. No small children please. Kids over 12 would be best.

The adoption donation for TIGGER is $250.00. He is neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, has been dewormed and microchipped. He is also on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Meet Ekon!

Ekon is a delightful two-year-old Cane Corso on the lookout for his forever home. Rescued from a local shelter, he is now thriving in his loving foster environment. Weighing in at a solid 110 lbs, Ekon is a gentle giant who is both crate trained and housebroken. He enjoys the company of other dogs, making him a great playmate in a multi-pet household. He would do best with someone who has large breed experience.

While we haven’t had the chance to see how he interacts with cats, we recommend a cat-free home due to his size and playful nature. Ekon is best suited for a family with kids aged 14 and up, but honestly with children who have experience living with large breeds will be considered!! Breed experience would be preferred, but is not required as long as you have experience with large breed dogs!

Adopted! Meet Van, Halen, Mötley, and Crue! 🎶 These beautiful, tiny birds came to Boomer’s Best Buddies as an owner surrender. Their owner had purchased a pair from a pet store and they quickly bred. There are 4 boys available, all under a year old. We would like to adopt them out in pairs or as a group, unless you have another a male to bond with.
