Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill, not-for-profit cat shelter. We have tried to create a pleasant environment as they await their forever homes.
Kiski Valley Cat & Kitten Rescue is a no-kill cat shelter that became a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation in 2000. We are dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and neglect towards cats by providing shelter to homeless cats until we can find them permanent homes of their own. Necessary veterinary treatment, including spaying, neutering, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations are obtained for them. O
ur cats and kittens are housed in 4 buildings in a mostly cage free, home-like environment, which aids in the adoption process. Being free to run around a room or an entire building allows our cats/kittens true personalities to be more easily determined by both our volunteers and our adopters. We also added fencing between the buildings, and cat doors so that the cats have access to totally enclosed outdoor patios. Whether you are looking for a very young kitten, a teenager, a young adult cat, or a senior cat, KVCKR is sure to have a cat or two for you! PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE TRYING TO HAVE AN ADULT CAT PLACED INTO A SHELTER WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN LIVING OUTSIDE ALL OF THEIR LIVES OR THEY HAVE BEEN IN A HOME SITUATION FOR MANY YEARS. THESE TYPES OF CATS DO NOT THRIVE IN A SHELTER.

Happy sleepy Thursday morning from chonky Sir Jefferson. 😻 We're not sure what Sir Jefferson's story is. All we know is we heard a kitty crying in the woods on our property and it turned out to be a very hungry, VERY affectionate Sir Jefferson. He's been with us a few months and he's just the most lovable, delicious, affectionate chonky chonk and deserves a great home❤️
...And the dismount.. 10.0 🤦 Our little gymnast is Zippy Nellie and she has moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). This makes her wobbly on her feet, but otherwise completely healthy. She's 100% fine after that graceful dismount. You should have seen what it took for her to get up there! 💕❤️🐾

This will be Rosie's 11th year at the shelter. After years of being overlooked, she's stopped trying. She finds a shelf to sit on as she watches her friends get adopted. She looks mean. Her ear is wonky from ear mites as a baby. She's older. But when you pet her, you see pure happiness. She needs a quieter home and time to adjust. You won't be able to hold her. But how amazing would it be to watch her slowly start to trust you? She would finally have a bed to sleep in. What if it worked out? ❤️
Our wonderful volunteers did it again! We were contacted by an overcrowded shelter in West Virginia and asked to help take in cats and kittens who may have otherwise been euthanized.
