It's almost a week since his rescue but Rocky remains confined at the vet with guarded prognosis but he has shown small improvements. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang gamutan niya pati ang GS injections niya for FIP.

He needs the GS injections for at least 30 days with one vial costing P2500, good for just 7 days. His vet bills are also nearing P10k as of today and we haven't raised enough. 😢

We are currently burdened with vet bills and recovery expenses not only of Rocky, but other rescues as well. We still owe the vet 10k for Ponyo's surgery bills and set back by 4k for Luke's and Mandy's cases. That's almost P25k for only 3 of the 42 rescues under our care and it increases by the day as long as Rocky remains confined at the vet. I hope those messaging us will also understand why we cannot accomodate new rescues at the moment. 😞

Sobrang sakit sa puso. Run free, Tiger. 😭💔

NO ASPIN DESERVES TO ENDURE SUCH HORRIFIC PAIN AND CRUELTY. JUSTICE FOR TIGER.

PAWS is deeply outraged by the brutal stabbing of Tiger, an Aspin, in a market in Subic. Tiger passed away shortly after the attack, unable to recover from his incredibly severe wounds. PAWS strongly condemns this horrific act of animal cruelty, and we are appalled that anyone could subject an innocent animal to such senseless violence.

PAWS has taken immediate action: we have reached out to the original poster and are coordinating with local animal welfare organization The Homeless Dog Shelter - Subic, Philippines. They’ve personally informed us that their local authorities are taking action and the perpetrator is now in custody at the Barangay.

PAWS will continue to work closely with them to ensure urgent and effective legal action is taken against the individual responsible for this atrocity. We will not tolerate such cruelty and will pursue all legal avenues to ensure the perpetrator faces full accountability.

Rest in peace, Tiger. We’re all working together and fighting to get you the justice you deserve.

Rocky remains confined at the vet and with poor to guarded prognosis. Good thing is kahit weak siya, may appetite naman daw siya kahit papaano. Meron paring lumalabas na nana sa ulo niya hanggang ngayon. Wala pa siyang stool output until now. Siguro bumabawi palang ang katawan sa pagkain. 😢 Nagstart na rin siyang bigyan ng GS injections para sa FIP niya.

PONYO UPDATE 🐈

Si Ponyo po yung rescue na putol ang paa. Naging successful naman po ang amputation niya, sinabay na din po ni doc yung kapon niya. 🤗

Sa ngayon ay recovering na po si Ponyo at babalik ulit sa vet this Friday for follow up.

We still owe the the vet P10k for his surgery bills. 🥲

MANDY 🐈

Mandy is one of our cancer rescues. Natanggalan na siya ng ear tumors last month.

Mandy is recovering well naman po. Inextend lang ni doc yung antibiotics nya for another week as may konting pus pa yung surgery wounds niya. Her next vet visit will be this Friday po.

The number of recent rescues are overwhelming and it is quite difficult to cope with their vet expenses lalo na't puro major surgeries and serious cases silang sunod-sunod.

Baka po merong nasa Baguio Public Market, nasa town or malapit po na pwede magcheck? Baka andun pa po yung orange cat sa may gutter na mukhang nasagasaan daw po pero buhay pa . Sa harap daw po ng local snacks across Metro Bank Magsaysay. Sa dami ng dumadaan dito, sana may naawa man lang. 😔

ROCKY UPDATE

Si Rocky po yung pinost for rescue kahapon na maga ang ulo at may tumutulong dugo mula rito. Dahil pagabi na din at walang ibang nagrespond ay nagpasya na kaming irescue na. Naidala din siya agad sa vet.

Maga yung ulo niya at halos hindi na nga makita yung kanang mata. May puncture wound siya sa ulo na infected na kaya namaho na din ito. Two weeks na daw palang ganito ang kalagayan nya. Punong-puno din daw ng nana ang ulo ni Rocky. Sa xrays nya, mabuti naman ay wala daw fractures sa kahit anong parte ng katawan at ulo pero nakitaan sa tyan nya ang maraming buto na naging pagkain niya nitong mga nakaraang araw 😢 Sa katunayan, nung time na nirerescue siya ay nadatnan siyang kumakain ng daga kahit hinang-hina na. 😢

Sa xrays nya din, halos hindi na makita ang kidneys, liver at iba pang organs niya na sign ng Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Sa kasamaang palad, lumabas sa blood works nya na FIP case siya. 😢

Sa ngayon ay nakconfine si Rocky sa Angeles Pet Care Center at under poor to critical prognosis. Bukod sa ongoing vet bills niya, kelangan din naming bumili ng GS shots niya ngayon para sa FIP niya. Ang isang bote ng GS ay nasa 2500 at good for a week lang daw ito. 😞

Kulang-kulang ang funds namin for our recent rescues - Ponyo, Luke at Mandy at ngayon ay kelangan din ng tulong ni Rocky. Negative funds na din po siya as of today. 🙇🏽‍♀️

This cat has been in this condition daw po for two weeks at namamaho na. 😢 Kaninang umaga hindi na daw siya umalis sa spot niya. Tumutulo na rin ang dugo sa ulo niya.

Dahil pagabi na at wala pa ring nagrescue sakanya, kinuha na po namin at papunta na ng vet. Please help us with his vettings po. May balance pa po kami sa vet for Ponyo's surgery and hirap din po to raise funds for the others. 😞 We can no longer continue with our rescue efforts at this rate. 🥲

Inireport sa amin ang pusang ito na nagdurugo ang ulo. Anyone willing to rescue po asap? Di na daw po tumatayo since this morning.

If we will rescue man po, sana matulungan po kami sa vettings nya if ever kasi malaki pa po balance namin sa surgery ni Ponyo at hindi din kami makaraise ng enough para kila Mandy at Luke despite several postings. 😞

With 41 rescues under our care, we go through at least 35 bottles of vitamins/supplements and prescribed antibiotics daily. How do we manage giving all of these to ensure we don't miss anything?

I label each box with the rescue's name, dosage, frequency and the last day they should be given (in case of antibiotics) then we establish a routine/timeline of administering them througout the day. I update the labels from time to time, especially when there are changes in dosage, frequency or last day, or when new rescues or meds are introduced. We have several bottles for some supplements as we have to give separate ones for Negative, FIV, FeLV, untested, with colds, new rescues (1 each until they get tested) and other special circumstances.

Apart from helping us keep track of giving these to the rescues daily, keeping this task organized also helps me take note of stocks I need to replenish so I can order new stocks in bulk and ensure continuity. This also includes stocking up on syringes as I need to replace them frequently.

I used to label and manually update them using a pentel pen but now I use a mini label printer to do the job, which makes it easier. It prints on sticker paper and I just stick it on the box, and the labels are easily removable for updating. (Mura lang po itong printer at sticker paper tas may app siya sa phone kung san mo itype yung label 😊)

I also keep a google sheet checklist with all the rescues' names with columns labeled with "spayed/neutered", "vaccinated", "dewormed", "flea treatment" and from time to time, mark those ready for kapon.

These simple things make small but significant portions of our rescue work easier, especially since we also lead busy lives. 😸

Sharing this as it may also give an idea and help others with their daily routines of taking care of their furbabies 🐈

Ang initial estimate po ng clinic is more or less 16k, pero mag-increase pa po ito since inakyat yung amputation site, then iba pa po yung confinement niya if needed plus post-op recovery. Mandy is another one of our several recent cancer cases. Tinanggalan din siya ng ear tumors. She is still on the way to full recovery but her surgery wounds are healing well. Nagkaron lang ng konting swelling sa likod ng left ear niya kaya drinain nila doc. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang gamutan nya and vet visits.

As of now, we still owe 4k sa vet para sa bills ni Mandy. It's also been a bit difficult to raise funds and cope with vet bills lalo pa't sunod-sunod na major surgeries ang recent rescues namin. 🥲

𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗬𝗢

Si Ponyo po yung stray na sobrang payat at putol ang isang paa. Sa initial check up niya, may ongoing infection at anemic. Hirap siyang makadumi at kita din sa x-ray na puno na ng poops yung intestines nya pero di niya mailabas ito. Hindi na rin daw masave yung putol niyang paa dahil exposed na rin yung bone kaya for amputation daw po siya.

We've received little help for poor Ponyo, not enough to cover his initial check up. 😢 Now, we have to raise funds for his amputation habang may balanse pa kami sa surgery bills ng isang rescue na si Mandy. 😞 At this rate, we can no longer accomodate more rescues na din. 😢 Ponyo will be our last one po muna.
