If you are planning on placing a holiday order, please do so by December 1st. I know this is a little earlier, but I'm trying to get a jump on this.

Come see us at the Holiday Craft Fair at Ludington Elementary School! We're here until 3 pm--and besides our ever-popular doggie goodies, we've also got dog-themed merch!

We're in Booth 11, in the hallway.

Just an FYI (and part of this is long overdue)--our storefront closed as of May 1st, 2020. We've been operating from a shed in the backyard of our home at 307 N. Delia St. (still in Ludington).

I also have a new phone number as of a few weeks ago (not really my choice, but that's another story). New number is 231-239-0306.

We're still selling every Friday at the Ludington Farmer's Market in Legacy Plaza during the summer. Next year will be our 8th season! I'm also still doing special orders (holiday cookies, birthday cakes, etc.) throughout the year, so give me a shout if you want something for that special doggie in your life and I'll be happy to accommodate.

As always, thanks for your support! 🐾❤️

Please forgive the length of this post...

First of all, I want to apologize for not posting for the last several months, but you will understand if you read the whole post. I'll be kind and give you a shortened version.

This has been a VERY difficult year for us emotionally. Those of you who know me know that we had 3 dogs: Tara Bean, a wonderful Border Collie-German Shepherd-Husky mix that I found as a stray puppy in October 2013; Liberty Justice, an incredibly sweet Golden Retriever boy that was born July 4th, 2018; and Independence Freedom (aka Indy), Liberty's full-blood little brother, born January 17th, 2022.

We believe in naturally caring for our dogs (raw diet, filtered water, no pharmaceuticals, etc.) and have been very successful with this for many years. So we were understandably very concerned when Tara (who had never been sick or on meds) suddenly became ill on December 7th. Despite emergency intervention, she went into organ failure and died on our living room floor 4 days later (December 11th). We have come to understand that this was due to an adverse reaction to a rabies vax (the only shots our dogs were receiving). A side note: I've been researching this subject and have found out that there are over 65 possible adverse reactions to this vax, including death--and I've recently met several people whose dogs met a similar fate.)

Watching Tara die--and being unable to help her--was beyond horrible and heartbreaking. Unfortunately, Liberty and Indy also witnessed it, and it affected Liberty so profoundly that, 2 months after we lost Tara, he developed a rare cancer from the trauma. We were given approximately a month with him, but opted to use homeopathy and naturopathy for him, along with our regular vet (who is very open-minded to alternative modalities), and remedies that I researched on my own.

Liberty responded very well to his treatments, and x-rays on April 23rd (2 months after his 'official' diagnosis) showed that the golfball-sized tumor in his chest had vanished. Blood calcium was good, lymph nodes were all normal. Our vet was elated and so were we.

Five days later, on April 28th, Liberty died in his sleep. We still don't know what happened, and our vet was just as shocked and saddened as we were. Liberty was not even 6 yet.

Nearly a year after we lost Tara, we're still trying to wrap our heads around losing 2 dogs in 4 months. I am crying as I'm writing this. I miss both of them so much. Thank God we still have Indy, who is healthy but really misses his 2 siblings.

We plan on getting another Golden puppy--a little brother for Indy--sometime early next year.

On another note, I'm still working on building a website...

Thanks for reading.

Good Stuff for Good Dogs and Dog People

Cosmic Canine Creations was born in 2013 out of a desire for healthier treats for dogs. I’d learned a bit about what REALLY goes into commercial dog foods and treats, and it concerned me. I thought I could do better, so I began creating recipes. My Golden Retriever, Cosmo, was only too eager to be the taste-tester. (BTW--Cosmo is the Golden featured on our product labels, business cards, and shop window. The photo used is one of him in his younger days. He’s now almost thirteen and a bit white in the face.) At the time I started the company, I was baking in my home kitchen and selling on Facebook, but knew that I wanted to grow.

Fast-forward to July 2016...my husband and I and are dogs (by this time, we had added Tara, a Border Collie-German Shepherd-Husky to our pack) had moved to beautiful Ludington, Michigan, ten blocks from the white sand beach of Lake Michigan. After meeting with a mentor, I decided to open a real storefront. Since then, we’ve expanded our square footage once and are in the process of doing it again (and have adopted a third dog). We now have eleven varieties of treats in rotation, plus seasonal treats and birthday cakes, as well as some really great merchandise for dogs and dog people: t-shirts, hoodies, hats, mugs, tote bags, magnets, keychains, wall art, doggie life vests (in season), bandannas, Pop-Sockets, collars, and more--and we’ll be expanding merchandise lines along with the expansion in square footage. Some of our merchandise is made right here in Michigan. We also can create custom treats and gift baskets for a special occasion. We’ve got a website coming VERY soon--and you can still order through Facebook. Just let us know what you want.

Our treats are baked onsite with human-grade ingredients, NO wheat, corn, or soy EVER, and we use organics whenever possible. We’re licensed with the Michigan Department of Agriculture, so we’ve done our homework.

Follow our posts for the scoop on new treats and merchandise and special events. Oh--and when you’re in Ludington, stop in and say hello--and bring your dog!
