After Casper’s last experience with sheep he wasn’t too keen to cross this field. At least this flock had a healthy respect for the 🐻❄️ and walked away as we approached instead of chasing after us. 💙🐾

Lazy weekend anyone?
We had a last minute change of plans for the weekend. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and make the most of it. We’ve enjoyed taking things a bit slower this weekend, especially as Casper seems to have done something to his knee again.

It’s hot hot hot 🥵 our early morning walk wasn’t quite as early as I wanted it to be by the end thanks to Sir sniff-a-lot. But he had the best time in the shade, with a breeze and then a dip in the lake at the half—way point. Obviously now he’s done for the day and is snoozing in the cool.

These two have been at it again… on Sunday daisy had to help herd the “sheep” back inside… instead the 🐑 decided it was time for a walk without the humans…
Despite Caspers little adventure we had a good day with the in laws on Sunday. It’s lovely to watch Casper and Daisy’s relationship blossom, Daisy is learning all her doggy communication skills and is finally letting casper sniff her bottom… though maybe that’s just because she’s coming into season. Only time will tell!

Casper went full bog dog on one of our hikes last week. I think he was trying to camouflage himself to match the local wildlife after the incident with the ewe 😂💙🐻❄️

Last week we were super lucky to be able stay here for two nights. Casper loved being so close to the water, though he did not make the most of his offlead time choosing instead to stay with the humans. Why can’t he make that choice when we’re out and about I don’t know 😂

The snow has been and gone, but the early Fri-yay feeling the weather bought yesterday remains. Does anyone else still try to catch the snowflakes on their tongue?

We thought spring was finally here and casper has been shedding his undercoat accordingly. Except that today we have had almost every type of precipitation known to us Brits coupled with blue skies and sunshine!

Still loving the freedom and confidence from our 20m long line! Casper seems to know where I am at all times, and likes to keep me in sight. Downside of all this long line and extendable work is now he doesn’t like walking on his shorter lead. Back to some loose lead training it is 🙈

How do you build these things?
Casper sometimes lacks confidence and is noise sensitive. Minutes before this photo was taken a car repeatedly backfired. It terrified all the local wildlife repeatedly so understandable casper was not having it. We have a strategy for these occasions. Step 1) Run, Step 2) get up high (parkour or a lift). So I spotted a series of logs on the other side of the field, I call casper to run, and then from 20m away tell him to get up on the log. He jumps up and waits for me, even smiling for a photo. Best part of it, we could then turn around back to the car through where the bangs happened without a care in the world.

I had to laugh at Caspers refusal to look at the camera on our latest sunset walks. It is so nice to be able to do a late afternoon walk in daylight!

We had a beautiful sunset walk with 2 and 4 legged friends yesterday and got beautiful shots of each human and their pup. My favourite shot of us is casper bombing it back towards me to play 🥰🥰🥰

Imagine this with “I’m on top of the world” by imagine dragons playing in the background! Today will go down in the Casper history books because today he ate a whopping 51 nuggets, or ~816g or 4.4% of his body weight!!!! Wish I could weigh him now 😂 We normally aim for 40-45 nuggets but he’s seemed hungry after eating the last week so I thought I’d just defrost extra. I had nothing to lose because he would just have the left overs for breakfast tomorrow… and with two little breaks he did it, he ate all of 30 nuggets for his tea (having had 21 at lunch time). I was so excited I missed filming him eating the last 3 nuggets. 🤦♀️ I am so glad I caught it on camera even if it makes for a boring video for you all. I want to remember this day, it feels like a milestone, like maybe we’re entering a new chapter (well we entered it a while ago but I wasn’t ready to admit it). Tomorrow he will likely not eat as well, he is currently in a food coma in the hall. 😂😂😂 but I am so proud of him and his new found love of food. Long may it last 💙💙💙💙

Ever feel like you’re stuck on a conveyor belt? 🐺 🏆 . . . Pawent’s turn: and so the road to recovery continues. Shockwave therapy is over (for now), having had to start from scratch thanks to lockdown. Casper now moves on to physio at home and at the vet (we’ve been doing physio at home since Feb). This is Casper’s first go on the treadmill with a resistance band. Tonight the number of resistance bands goes up! Wish him luck, or maybe I should saw wish his physio, Karl, luck!
