It’s been a busy week for Lina. I groomed her Monday and she was very patient with me as I’m still learning. Such a sweet girl! And today she got fixed. 😢 poor baby girl is pretty miserable at the moment.

From my friend: Coming soon (expected June 21st) Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier puppies . The momma sleeps in the house and runs in the country! And since their grandmother is a service dog, you know they’re going to be super smart! If you know Wheatens, they are super loving, great with children, non-shedding, and always happy! I have done a lot of testing including genetics to ensure my dogs are as healthy as can be.

Who We Are

We are a family with 3 boys who are in love with Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers.

We love this breed for lots of reasons, their best quality is the NO shedding!! Of course that might just be my opinion as we have our dogs with us 100% of the time and I am some-what of a clean freak. 😂 But I love having our dogs as part of the family and wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Wheaten Terriers are known to be great for people who suffer from allergies. Both my oldest son and second son have allergies, and that was one of the big reasons we started researching this breed. However, my mother has severe allergies and we have found that there is no way to know for certain if someone will have a reaction or not until they have been with the dog for 48 hours. She has even experienced having a reaction to one dog and not the other, of the very same breed! Clearly allergies are all based off of body chemistry and not just the type of breed.

Wheatens are also a sturdier breed which is fantastic for our family of 3 rough-housing boys. Their unconditional love and happiness is contagious and have brought us so much joy. We want to provide others with this same opportunity of finding a beautiful pup who will bring them much laughter, joy, and love.

Princess Leia is 37lbs and watches over my kids like they are her own. She loves to snuggle but also likes to lay at my feet when she gets too warm. She is our first wheaten belonging to my oldest son and shares a room with him.

Finn is our beautiful boy with 10 AKC champions in his bloodlines. He is like a teddy bear come to life. His coat is soft and fluffy, he loves to get your attention to play games and be chased. He is a very happy, silly, dog and those eyes just melt me. He belongs to my second son and shares his room.

We named our dogs after the characters in the Star Wars movies. Which then led us to thinking about Jedi, then to Padawans. The definition of a Padwan or Jedi youngling fit so perfectly.

Both dogs love to swim in our pool and run wild around it. They are such fun to watch splashing and playing by the pool. They usually having me laughing my sides off in a matter of minutes.

In the winter they love the snow and will spend short periods of time outside playing depending on how cold it is. Because these dogs have hair and NOT fur it is very important to remember they don’t have the extra insulation other dogs would have.

Grooming... I cannot stress enough how important this is to the wheaten breed. They will absolutely need to go to a groomer every other month at the very least. Depending on the kind of coat, some wheatens require less or more brushing every week. I look at it as a small price to pay in order to have a happy, non-shedding, beautiful dog. And it even can help you bond with your dog.

We as a family have experienced much sadness and hardships in recent years but “...do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” - Nehemiah 8:10

This life can be hard, but life is also full of little treasures and blessings along the way. When you’re in a dark place and someone comes along and pulls you out, putting you back in the light again, that is a blessing. Our hope is that these pups will bring encouragement, love and laughter to others too. We are blessed by these adorable dogs and hope to share that blessing with you.
