Caribiner clips are not safe for horses to be left alone. They can get them caught on lips, eyes and nostrils.
Avoid these clips on leads. There are many other better suited clips to choose from.

Easy to brush and saddle
Beautiful ground manners
Walk trot and canter under saddle, however he takes a bit to warm up into a nice frame.
