Our Little boy Blu lost his battle early this am. His little body just couldnt do it anymore and we chose to let him go this time and not do CPR. We are extremely saddened on how this turned but we are greatful the fantastic medical he received and someone was with him while he passed

Update on Blu:

We have raised enough of the fee for him to stay the night without the full amount. This update is late because it’s been a roller coaster with Blu tonight. As from the 8pm update they were able to stabilize him. He has already had several plasma transfers for this to happen and we were not sure he would trend in the positive direction. We were advised he was very sick and might not make it through the night. As of an hour ago Blu was doing better and was showing promise but suddenly coded and needed CPR to be resuscitated. I think we are just all in shock of how serious this mystery infection has become. He did receive an ultrasound today and we were told they were unable to find anything substantial. At this point they are trying to keep him stable enough to slowly fix his blood levels to get him strong enough to make some progress. We will update everyone in the morning from what happens throughout the night. Unfortunately the foster had to return to RI but Blu is in very good hands in such unfamiliar territory.

Update:

We have an extension of sorts they are tied up and we will be getting a call around 8 on what we plan to do. We still need to raise around $1000 in an hour, I’m not sure if thats even feasible, but we would like to try.
For anyone that doesn’t know our little Boy Blu is far from home and ended up in a hospital out of state. He needs funds to secure his stay for care and we now have until 8 to have the down payment or not for care. We have attached the original story. If anyone can donate it would be much appreciated

Charlie has been adopted. Can we please just have one day to be happy. One day where something isn’t an emergency or a weird disease or cancer. A vet visit that wasn’t planned.
Nope today is not that day, today is again another emergency. Another day of anxiety of is the dog going to be ok and how the hell are we going to pay for this.

With his foster family on vacation, our puppy Blu was rushed to the emergency room this morning not responding. After throwing up up yesterday he was taken to the vet and cleared to go home with some meds, this morning he wasn’t responding and was rushed in. All precautionary parvo test were negative. He has an extremely low white blood count and they suspect some kind major infection. He is with his family and out of state where he needs to be hospitalized. This is differnet territory for us and we do not have our veterinary staff to be out usually support. Blu needs to be hospitalized immediately, he wouldn’t make the trip home to our vets here. We need to raise $2275 as a deposit for them to take him in upfront. We know this is a alot to ask, we just did an extremely large fundraiser for Charlie. Blu is at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. Any donations would be appreciated

Hi everyone, We have raised $370 of the $2200 needed for his admission. At this point we are going to have to make some tough decisions for him at 6:30pm without being admitted he can’t stay. He has been on supportive care since we first posted our story but now we have to make some decisions in regards to his medical situation. He is too sick to be able to survive without the
supportive care of the hospital, and at this point of our fundraising, we did not raise enough to have him admitted. This is an out of state hospital that we have never worked with before they have already been gracious enough to help us out and requiring only $2200 instead of the $3000 that they had originally quoted as a deposit they have been amazing at trying to help us and understanding our situation. We are still trying to explore a couple of other avenues for payment on our end but, with already exhausting our funds on Charlie, we are still very far away from our goal to help blue. We literally feel defeated. He’s only a puppy, and there’s nothing we can do. Any donations are much appreciated. We will give another update around 6 o’clock on the plane for Blu.

We have raised $230 of the $2200 down payment needed for Blu to be admitted to the NJ hospital. Once we can put down the down payment they will be rushing him to ultrasound for his intestines, they believe the cause could be there. Any amount helps! Thank you everyone for all your support for Blu and our other pups!

So we have some news for lover boy Charlie.
He has a few updates:
Charlie had his annual with his ear cleaning at Titan Vet with doctor Michelle. He did great, he did have an ear infection and received medication that will last the month! Charlie seemed to be walking with a gait (this was new for him) and as a precaution the doctor took some X-rays before giving him his vaccines. She found that Charlie has some vertebrae fused together. He might have a condition called spondylosis. We paid for a radiologist to view the screens and it’s recommended he see a specialist. At 2 years old Charlie could live a long and productive life if we get him on the right preventative care. We are raising money for his specialty visit and blood work $375-450. We appreciate all the support Dr Michelle has given us and the availability of Ocean State to get us in. He literally can’t catch a break.
We appreciate any sponsorships.

Overdue Charlie update:

This is overdue!! Charlie is doing well in foster and has an adoption application that we are currently processing.

What happened with Charlie? WHATS THE TEA??

Charlie came to use over a year and a half ago as a puppy with his sister. His sister was quickly adopted out. Charlie was in a foster home that expressed interest in keeping him (to a point it was difficult to explore other options for him) but would never commit until he was given back because he was getting too big and we put our foot down. Yes people do this. You meet all types. Charlie was then homeless for a bit and bounced around with no real commitment. At Christmas, a campaign to get some of our unclaimed fosters into homes launched and Charlie was one of them. All the others were actually adopted except (again) for Charlie. He did find a lovely foster home for the Holidays. Unfortunately pushing him for adoption (again) resulted in nothing. We are now in January, and had one applicant that the foster had found on the Cape that we were using a Hail Mary on. When the volunteer picked Charlie up, his foster notified her that she would not take Charlie back that night after the meet and greet. Yes people do this to us and expect us to figure it out like we have this magical house we can bring the dogs to and we don’t really need them as fosters. On to the meet and greet on the Cape. It went ok but we felt Charlie and the other two dogs would benefit from a couple of meets before a sleep over. We do change our adoption routine up if we see promise but everyone needs to to adjust before coming into the home. We left with that plan and they never responded to out attempts to contact them again. Charlie had nowhere to go and was placed into a South county boarding facility. After that Charlie had a couple of other meets but nothing has ever panned out for him. The current situation arose between us and the owner of the boarding facility. He wanted Charlie in a home and we could no longer pay the bill. We reached out to make arrangements for pickup and inquired on the price of the bill. Charlie’s total bill was $5900 not including the payments made. That’s when there was severe breakdown of communication and comments were being made about Charlie’s safety if we didn’t hurry up and bring him the money. We did not understand what was going on and we contacted animal control to intervene. They did on our behalf. We had never had this sort of unstable interaction with him before and we were gravely concerned for Charlie. Animal control called us and let us know they talked to him about what the arrangement would be and it was smooth sailing picking up Charlie.

We did not disclose the whole story at the time because the goal was to raise the money needed and get Charlie into the safety of a foster home. Sometimes the goals can get clouded if the situation becomes emotional and we decided to only disclose the important pieces of information that would help us achieve that goal. We could not dwelll on “how awful the guy was” or “he can’t do that.” Fact of the matter is, he straight up told animal control he was going to take Charlie to the vet if we didn’t come down and pay up the rest of the bill now. We can only assume he meant to euthanize Charlie.… a threat we had to take seriously no matter how illegal it would be for him to do so. People do crazy s**t. So that’s where the urgency came from and why we did not disclose all the details. Charlie still needs a home. He is absolutely fantastic especially since all he knows is crazy people lol.

Thank you
