Charlie is safe in a FOSTER home. This jail bird found himself love after lockup lol. He still needs permanent placement for he is safe for tonight. We want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who pulled together for this one. We know there may be some unanswered questions and yes there was more to this story. We will be posting a full disclosure later tonight. It’s been a long day for everyone.
French Fry
We wish we had better news for Petunias little family, another puppy has fallen I’ll.
Last night Petunia’s baby ”French Fry” started with congestion and a cough. By this am it was none stop, our volunteer immediately started a nebulizer treatment we had left from the sick puppies from last week. We do not know why she is now falling so I’ll after being exposed along this the others weeks ago. She must see the vet, she is getting worse. We need to do another round of fundraising of $450 to get her into an emergency appointment and go from there. Can anyone sponsor her? Any little bit helps.

Potato Litter
Who wants puppy snuggles???
An unexpected save and taken on by one of our volunteer partners. Now dubbed “little potatoes,” stay tuned for the name reveal. Momma Petunia is feeling so so much better and we only hear a cough every once and a while. Thank you to everyone who has been following their story!
Update:
Update on our chunky monkey. Petunia’s little one had treatment last week on her abscess and she was only stable to remove a portion of the mass. But look how much better she is looking!! She meets today with vet that treats her momma Petunia to see if we are moving forward with additional drainage. She is getting older and strong so hopefully that gives us more options. Also let’s find out what’s causing this. As of right now we have no answers except it is not her affecting her lymph nodes. We will update everyone during the visit.
Petunia
**Curtesy Pup**
We need our OPP community again! Meet Petunia, a mom that almost wasn’t. Petunia was a ”12th hour” save from rural TX that euthanizes pregnant moms so they do not give birth in the shelter. With no rescue interest, Petunia came into the care of one of our volunteers. She got on the last transport of the week and traveled up. As the risk of any transport, she became I’ll after giving birth and has given a secondary illness to her puppies. They were under a vets care. Everyone has been getting better and stronger until today when one of her puppies became lethargic and one can’t breathe. They are being rushed to the emergency hospital to save their lives. We have not recovered any savings since Pebbles surgery and we need help to give these guys any sort of chance. We are looking at least $850 for primary care. Please please consider donating today:

***Disclosure, in the midst of the rushed emergency tonight we were sent the picture of the wrong puppy who is lethargic. The black one posted is all right, it was our little blue nose baby (moms twin) that was taken to emergency tonight. Her picture is in our update***
Welcome to the 6th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Shelter Drive!!
Welcome to our 6TH annual Thanksgiving Meal Shelter Drive 2024!!!
Yesterday was a HUGE day for sorting out our supplies in preparation for cook pickup. From here the cooking begins in the homes of volunteers throughout the state. Drivers then will pick up the meals and deliver between tomorrow and Wed to the animal shelters!!! Stay tuned for our updates throughout the Thanksgiving week!
A HUGE thank you to the town of East Providence for allowing us to use their senior center for another year for our supply sorting day. And another huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their Saturday getting everything ready for this drive!
This drive would not be able to run every year without the huge support the community has on this page and the donations made to this event.
***update on pebbles 9/24/23. she received surgery last night and it went well. The doctor reported finding more bleeding than the ultra sound showed. She has responded well today and is eating. She is still showing elevated kidney values and may need to stay an extra night to address that. She’s been through a huge trauma and they will do another blood test around 4pm to decide how she will move forward. We will update everyone around 4:30pm.
***pebbles has been admitted and is awaiting surgery. We will update as soon as we recieve news from the doctors***

***Emergency***. We have an extreme emergency with pebbles. She was rushed to MA/RI emergency vet in Swansea today presenting with shaking, lethargy and bleeding from her vagina. It is believed these are complications after her spay from Thursday. Ultra sounds show she has a slow internal bleed that needs to be corrected to save her life. We need to raise $2281 for a down payment to admit her for the surgery and we need to raise is quickly. We know money is tight across the board but we have to raise this money or she can’t be admitted. This community has always com through for the rescue dogs in this state and we desperately need your help today. Any little bit helps. Please please share

***Immediate help needed***
So when we post dogs. We usually try to keep our posts to the point, short, and to give what’s needed for a post. But I don’t think I can do that today. I think this dog is the end of it for me. You may wonder how we take dogs in. They are mostly sent to us and when you help one street rescuer, they tell other street rescuers that you take dogs and you might help. Then the flood of text messages, emails and DM’s start. With absolutely terrible pictures of animals on the street. Every day. You open each one knowing some will be picked up by rescues and some will just be left on the street where the photo was taken. So when you are sent messages about dogs that you KNOW will not be picked up by other rescues, it literally f*cking tears you apart because you cannot help all these animals. Rescue is a terrible place to be right now. Surrenders are at an all time high, clogging the rescues with spots that could be taken for dogs that actually need rescue vetting and help.
I’ve posted so so many dogs over the years. Some with absolutely horrific stories. But Pebbles really had me depressed. To be beaten that bad and still wagging your tail for help is just tormenting and makes one question if you can really continue in life knowing this is what humanity can do and leave behind. This is why depression in rescue volunteers is so high.
Pebbles found her way to someone’s door step in TX and that is where this video was taken. The homeowner put a blanket outside, took a video to post and left her outside. The video circulated the rescue groups for a week, with no one picking her up, meanwhile she stayed on the porch snuggling the blanket because it was a soft place to lay. She made her way into our message box, we should have said no because we have dogs that we cannot get adopted. But we took her in. She had been severely beaten. She is the tiniest pitbull, and all wags and snuggles. She was probably wagging h
***Adoption sponsorship program***
Rescue across the nation is in a desperate state. It’s never ever been as bad as this. Pets are being surrendered in record numbers and adoptions have all but completely stopped. Rescues who are used to 50-60 adoptions a month (pre covid) are now lucky if they can get 5 out. Shelters are having to make tough decisions for space. Once when there was a time they would be able to give a dog alot of time to find a home, they are now finding they can not. Fosters are burnt out because they are holding dogs longer with no adoptions. That means no fosters. All of these facts are true for RI. After reaching out to some other rescues, it’s bad. Some have just shut down. Others are overwhelmed. We are (ourselves) are in emergency at this point.
We were contacted by one of our long time supporters and she has offered to sponsor 4 dogs for adoption in honor of her passed father.
These dogs will be dogs that need to be adopted immediately and are urgent. This is such a blessing.
Requirements:
-you must fill out an application BEFORE contacting us about the dog.
-you must have a record of veterinary care at an established vet (not a shot clinic). This can be for a past or present dog.
-you must 💯 be seriously interested (some of these dogs do NOT have time to have it wasted by non serious applicants)
- you must meet the requirements for the dog in the post. No exceptions.
-these dogs are sponsored and will invite no cost to you for adoption
Below: URGENT NO 1 (sponsorship program)
Meet Reef and Anchor:

They are extremely gentle souls and low energy. They are little adorable llama foxes
-must be adopted together no exceptions
- can be adopted with or without a fenced yard BUT they would prefer a fenced area to explore.
- they bond to woman (Men tolerated).
- are not aggressive to children but will hide.
-dog and cat friendly
They are super urgent. They will not have a q
***Foster or adopter wanted ASAP**
There is still absolutely NO interest in these two little small breed brothers. Like Lakota, no one has applied or asked about them. They are SUPER easy and gentle souls. They would be the perfect pair for someone. Sadly we have had them in rescue since they were 7 weeks old and they just spent their first birthday with us. Some dogs get overlooked and end up waiting years for someone to give them a chance. Please don’t let these guys wait another 3years in boarding like Lakota.
-Bonded brothers
-Completely housebroken
-not aggressive with children but would do better in a “quieter” home, they are very gentle souls.
-dog friendly
***Please share! Lakota would not have found a home if it wasn’t for this community sharing and pushing her story!***

*** Please read and share*** These boys need a home to celebrate their first birthday!!
We are spending National Puppy day with two very special boys. Please meet Reef and Anchor! They have been posting a couple of times on our page and have never had much interest. They are coming up on a year being with us and unfortunately will be spending their first birthday being boarded with a rescue. This isn’t the way we would ever want puppies spending their first birthday! They need a home or a foster! Reef and Anchor are brothers and a bonded pair. They are small breed mixes with a cross between tiny llamas and mountain goats. The boys are very low energy and can be crated together. Perfect pair for someone to love! If you interested in helping these two gentle pups please fill out the application below birthday cake will be provided!
