** Update: Stray Kragnes is safe!

"Kragnes" is the name we have given this stray that was seen running north of Moorhead, MN near Kragness, MN with a female dog. His buddy was contained by a Good Samaritan but this boy is a little more skittish. We are working on humanely trapping him, so we ask you DO NOT ENGAGE if sighted. Just report any sightings to help get this boy safe. Please share to help find his possible owners.

Hopper is an adult, pug/beagle mix missing in Isanti, MN. Hopper went missing after loud fireworks went on nearby. Please quietly check your properties: under decks, in garages, in window wells, anywhere that a lost pup could hide. If you have security or trail camera, please check those too! If you see Hopper, do not chase, follow, yell or attempt to catch him, just stop moving and call with sighting details. Hopper's family is doing everything we have advised to bring him home safely. Some of you have asked how to support Miki and Scout's K9 search training. She now has a GoFundMe available where you can donate.

After they complete their training, Scout will be the first dog in Minnesota formally trained to track/trail lost dogs. :)

Note: While Miki and Scout will be working cases for the Retrievers, she is paying for the training personally. We want to be clear that these donations are not tax-deductible.

Queene is a sweet girl who is on the run from her new home in Madison, SD. She is a breeder release who had previously found herself living with other dogs that weren't kind to her. Queene was just starting her new life with her new family the day she got startled by a nearby dog while on a potty break and ran. She is scared of everyone and everything. Her new owners are doing everything possible to bring her home safely.
If you see her, please do not chase her. Instead, ignore her and call with sighting information. Let's reunite Queene with her new family who deeply misses her!

Buddy is a sweet, older Chihuahua that went missing in Chaska, MN. He is partially deaf and blind. He got out of an unlocked gate after being let out for a potty break. His family is absolutely devastated and are doing all they can to get him home. He is a small man and could be hiding anywhere. Please check your security cameras, window wells, sheds, under decks, garages and anywhere this little guy can hide. If you see him, do NOT chase or yell out to him as it could lead him into traffic and danger. Calll or text with where you saw him and the direction he is going. He’s likely scared as he’s never been away from home and he’s very attached to his momma. Please check your cameras and share this post so we can get him home!

Finley was outdoors with his mom in Fairmont, MN when he scampered off. This little guy is 11 years old and weighs in at only 4 pounds. There have been sightings and he seems to have now settled in one area. We are working on getting a camera and trap out in hopes of getting Finley home safe soon. UPDATE:

We should have a camera coming to us in the mail tomorrow! So we are set for now. If anything changes, we'll update this post again.

Thank you SO MUCH for all your offers! We're so excited to see the team enter this new chapter in our capabilities. Miki will be setting up a GoFundMe soon to raise funds for her training. It will take a year to complete and will cost about $4500 total, so she will need your continuing support over the next few months. We'll keep you posted!

We have exciting news (and a little ask...)!

One of our team members will be training her pup to search for lost dogs. Once Miki and Scout have completed their training, they will be the first formally trained dog-searching-dog team in Minnesota! We can't wait until we can put Scout's nose on our toughest cases.

As there are no local trainers who specialize in this kind of work, Miki and Scout will be working remotely with a trainer through the Missing Animal Response Network.

Here's the ask... Miki will need a GoPro camera to record her sessions, which she will send to her trainer for feedback. Does anyone have a GoPro you'd be willing to give to Miki? It does not have to be the latest model--a gently used camera will do. :)

Brewski is a very friendly boy who went missing while visiting family in Blue Earth, MN. Brewski, his sibling dog and a human friend were outdoors playing when both dogs went missing. The sibling dog was found, he had unfortunately been shot but he has survived. They have yet to find Brewski. Brewski is said to love kids, if your young children has seen a friendly black lab please call and report the sighting. If Brewski was shot and survived he could have made it to a nearby farm etc. Please check out buildings and ditches in the Blue Earth area. Let's get this handsome boy home to his family who misses him.

Trapping Piper the Coyote

Recently, the Retrievers were asked to help trap a domesticated coyote so she could be transported to a wildlife sanctuary. While we usually stick to trapping only lost dogs, this was good learning for us, and it gave us the opportunity to team up with two other outstanding nonprofits: SaveAFox and the Wildlife Science Center. *** Give to the Max - MOVIE MOMENT *** This video clip will give you a glimpse into what it’s like to humanely trap a dog in one of our Missy Traps. They are very large and nothing like a box trap. The door is not triggered until the dog is on the opposite end of the trap to ensure there is no chance of harm. These traps come apart in sections, so they are easy to transport. All of our traps are monitored by live video and the trap doors are motion activated. We do not arm a trap unless one of us is watching and within a couple minutes away. We have supplied plans and helped many different people and trapping groups across the country build their own Missy Trap. We even run a group for other trappers willing to help people in their area. Each Missy trap costs approximately $550 to make and we are always building more as we bring new Case Managers on board. *** Give to the Max - MOVIE MOMENT *** This is a glimpse of a stray we were asked to help. She was tiny so this is one of our smallest traps, the Cash trap, after a dog named Cash. You can see it is still large and not a typical box trap. The trap door is triggered by movement and monitored by live video. We never arm a trap unless we are within a few minutes of arrival to get them out. This dog is a stray we named Toni. Once caught, we checked for a microchip (none) and posted on social media looking for her family, but none was found. She went to rescue as a foster and was adopted by one of our own volunteers who loves her to death! Booker was lost in Cloquet, Mn for a week! In order for this boy to be truly “Retrieved” he needed to meet his dad in White Bear Lake. Book was lost 9 hours from home because he helps drive 😉 a semi. Thankfully dad was back in Minnesota yesterday and…….. Welcome home, Booker.
