Patchouli has lost all of his long feathers and is growing beautiful new ones. He is doing well but hasn’t lost his two remaining damaged toes and we aren’t able to stretch his contracted leg. We are going to visit UW Veterinary Care for a consult to decide our next steps for him. In the meantime he is very content and enjoys being with Zoey and Hickory. 🦚🐓🪿

Oh Thunder boy! When Thunderbolt came to us he was so infested with mites his legs were swollen and bleeding and he was terribly uncomfortable. He has been through such a tough time. The mites are gone but his hair didn’t grown back on his legs and spots on his back. He has thick, hard skin patches, and the flies have been relentless this summer attacking his bare skin. We tried spray and ointment and then fly jackets which don’t fit just right because they are made for mini horses not alpacas. We sewed, pinned, and modified until it mostly worked! He still gets a leg through the wrong spot but it has kept the flies off! When we got the call about Thunder in the beginning we were told he was unhandleable. He would bolt and kick and couldn’t be touched. He was actually just an alpaca in a lot of pain and has been so good and patient through all the care we have given him. He knows we are trying to help. We like to call him Thunder Muffin now 🧁🦙 He has the sweetest face! 💕

We start with yoga around the fire and build into ecstatic dance together.It is a time to be entirely yourself and find your freedom and joy through movement.

Connect with those around you, the animals, and the Earth.

Everyone is welcome and accepted.

There is no judgment here.

Please don’t be afraid (we all were the first time and all come back).

Give yourself this gift.💝

Feel free to arrive between 6:30 – 7:00 to enjoy a walk through the sanctuary to see the animals.

We will begin at 7:00.

Afterwards, enjoy some time around the fire with friends, feel free to bring a vegan snack to share.

Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Dress comfortable and for the weather.

We had such a great day at the park today with our friends from Georgia's Place Bird Sanctuary and our Sanctuary Solidarity Celebration!
