It breaks my heart to give you this news, but yesterday I handed Lucy back to the rescue centre she came from, so she could be re-homed.
I wasn’t made aware of Lucy’s issues when I adopted her, but I loved her from the moment I saw her.
Over the first few weeks of adopting her I learnt that she was blind, she had cancer, but she also had some deep, ingrained behavioural issues from before she was rescued.
As you know, I sorted her sight issues and the cancer.
Her behaviour issues have been more challenging though.
Despite trying to address these issues, her behaviour became more than my health issues would allow me to cope with.
I know she has left here a happier, healthier, more confident little girl. She is so sweet and loving, although she only had an emotional attachment with me, which made things a little harder for the others in this house.
Her ‘issues’ were also stressful for Doogle. He is a quiet, peaceful boy, but having Lucy stomping all over him to get to me caused him anxiety.
Personally, I believe Lucy should be with a single, retired person, with no other animals.
I doubt I will get to know where she ends up, but I hope whoever is lucky enough to have Lucy in their life loves her like I do. Lucy’s happiness and wellbeing is the priority.
It will take me a while to get over this, it is something I had been thinking about for many, many months. I feel like I have let her down. But, in the end my health issues got the better of things and I had to make this awful decision.
If anyone of her followers is thinking of applying to adopt Lucy, send me a PM and I can fill you in on her behavioural issues.
She really does deserve the very best home possible and much love for the rest of her life

Remembering our very beautiful lady, Minney the Moo.
Today marks two years since we lost this most gentle soul.
The day she died part of us died with her. We will never forget how very blessed we were to have had this brief moment, in all of time, with Minney in our lives.

Ten years ago today this bundle of fur, the Doogle Bug, landed with us.
Despite cuteness overload, the cherubic face masked the spawn of Satan. The first four months he tested and fried every last nerve we had.
We’d never have thought during those first few months that he would eventually turn into the sweetest, most gentle, loving soul. Lady Moo played a paw in that.
He really is the best boy and he totally melts us. ❤️

With Little Miss Lucy being a rescue, we decided to get a DNA test to see exactly what breed she is.
We know that she is a Cocker, but is she a show type, is she a worker, is she both, or does she have other genes?
The results came through today and confirmed that she is 100% English Cocker. So, we are assuming that means she is a show type, but is a worker classed as an English Cocker too?
Whilst we try and get an answer to that question we do have some unexpected news that we learnt from the test results.

Lucy has a 3 year old son called Milo, who lives in Telford. Milo is a cockerpoo.
As we know nothing of Lucy’s past, this was exciting news. A tiny piece of Lucy’s puzzle.
Hopefully, if we can find Milo we might able to find some more pieces of the puzzle.

The photo on the left was taken just over a year ago when we first brought Little Miss Lucy Fur home.
The photo on the right was taken today.
Notice the difference in her coat today. Back then it was dry, course and shed everywhere.
Today it is soft and smooth, and thankfully she keeps most of it to herself.
What a difference. It’s amazing what a good diet and the love of a family can do.
She no longer sleeps on the pouffé to escape anymore, I have to sit with her to get her to lie down on it now. Most days she can be found stuck to my lap. 🥰

🥳🥳 Little Miss Lucy Fur is 4 today! 🥳🥳
Birthday girl got a posh new coat to keep her warm on her walkies. She loves it. 🥰
She also has a bag full of goodies from Pets & Friends who have a fantastic range of raw treats.
Now, where to hide the bag so the Prof doesn’t find it 😁

Good news for brave Little Miss Lucy Fur today. The hospital in Liverpool found no evidence of lumps or growths in her bottom and sent her home with an almost clean bill of health.
She has to go back in 6 weeks for another check up.
It will be a day of celebrations when we can cease with the long trips to the hospital.
Next month she is back to Leominster for a check up on her eyes 👀

Little Miss Lucy Fur goes back to Liverpool hospital on Tuesday to check on her cancer, and see if it has grown or not.
She doesn’t seem bothered at all, taking it all in her stride whilst mum goes into meltdown 😬
