DESTRUCTION LOOMS FOR THE BLUE MOUNTAINS - WIND FACTORIES ARE INDUSTRIALISING OUR ENVIRONMENT AND THE COST IS TOO HIGH.

European-owned wind tower developer called Tag Energy is proposing to install 250 wind towers in State-owned pine forests at the western end of the Blue Mountains.
These wind towers will be an extraordinary 300m high – the same size as Sydney Centrepoint Tower.
But what is most devastating is that these massive industrial wind towers will be installed on the edge of the Blue Mountains UNESCO World Heritage Area.
The Blue Mountains are one of the most sacred natural destinations in the world, and a beloved tourism destination for millions of local and international visitors.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION - THIS IS ENVIRONMENTAL ECOCIDE AND IT MUST STOP.

Save the Blue Mountains from a Wind Tower Disaster

Animals can teach us so much.

I was on my way to a conference this morning when I saw a small flock of Blue Faced Honeyeaters on the road trying to get one of their family, who’d been hit by a car, to get up.

It was a dual lane road.
In the 30 seconds it took me to exit, turn around and get back to where the birds were, another two had been hit.

I pulled up in the outside lane where they were, put on my hazards and picked up these 3 little birds. All three were dead. The speed limit on that road is 60 kph yet drivers were still travelling past me well over the limit. I’d been able to see the birds on the road from 50m away yet someone chose not to slow down and either change lanes or stop. They drove into them.

Two birds died trying to rescue their family member.
We can learn a lot about compassion and selfishness from what happened on the road this morning.

To create lasting change for our wildlife and environment, we must listen to each other and collaborate to find solutions.

We should have been doing this a long, long time ago. It's going to take a lot of hard, intentional work on our part and when I say 'our' I am talking about all of us. We have to be willing to listen, learn, share, guide, and find compromise that creates beneficial outcomes - and the 'we' in this is all of us. You, me, Govt, mining, farming, industry, because we all need each other and we are all Queenslanders.

Please watch the video below.

CLARKE CREEK WIND FACTORY - First turbines have already been activated.

One of Australia's largest wind factories, backed by billionaire Andrew "Twiggy" Forrest, will have Stage 1 completed by mid-2025. That's 100 giant turbines.

With turbines lining the clifftops at Broadsound Range, each standing 207 metres tall, the Clarke Creek wind factory between Rockhampton and Mackay is the second-largest wind project in Queensland.

The Project is located approximately 150 kilometres (km) north-west of Rockhampton, 150 km south-west
of Mackay and 80 km north of Marlborough. The Project Area is approximately 76,300 hectares (ha) across
11 freehold rural properties. The construction footprint of the project is anticipated to cover approximately
1,760 ha.

Below I've attached some maps of the wind factory footprint and other relevant information. The previous QLD Govt signed off on this project.
The habitat destruction is unacceptable.
For every animal injured or orphaned the company will donate $50 towards its care! It goes to show the lack of understanding around the care of injured wildlife. As carers we all know that $50 goes no where.
The euthanasia by blunt force trauma, after assessment, is unbelievably allowed to be carried out. For larger wildlife, like koalas, fauna spotters are to equip themselves with crow bars....and who is going to carry out these assessments?

It's very easy to write down on paper how things are meant to be done. It's very easy to say, 'we have a biodiversity plan that's been independently put together by experts', but it's another thing to follow the plan. How many animals will make it into care from sites like Clarke Creek when blunt force trauma can be used? It's certainly less hassle for the company to just dispose of animals and birds. Added to the section on blunt force trauma is the use of decapitation. Decapitation should NEVER be used to euthanise any living creature.

Let's get this played all across our country and then the rest of the world.

"Now you see me, but soon you won't." Koala's need us NOW. Habit destruction is being sanctioned by councils, State and Federal Govt.

There's NO PROTECTION for koalas until planning regulations are ethically overhauled and all exemptions are removed that impact koala habitat.

In Qld it's Planning Regulations 2017.

Until the exemptions are REMOVED IN PERPETUITY koalas do not stand a chance of surviving the looming spectre of extinction.
That's not an exaggeration - it's a very real and sad truth.

https://vimeo.com/1043739345

We must properly protect koala habitat, especially in Qld, as a matter of Global significance and responsibility.

HEARTBREAKING.
No where to go.
Koala habitat destruction ramping up in Morayfield.
SE QLD is being denuded for sprawling housing estates. Every day, our friends from Moreton Bay Koala Rescue are dealing with the fallout of the devastation of koala habitat.

Planning Regulations 2017 have so many exemptions and loopholes that developers navigate. There’s NO SUCH THING AS KOALA PROTECTION when it comes to QLD PLANNING REGS. Sadly, this is the legacy of the Palaszczuk / Miles Govt. Their 2020-2025 koala plan big noted themselves as the strongest plan ever put in place to protect koalas. What they didn’t tell us was that koalas would be the victims of the planninge exemptions - the Palaszczuk Govt did not uphold the expert panel’s recommendations to remove the exemptions.
You can go and find this information for yourselves - it’s easily available.

The koala in this picture was rescued today from a washing line, at this stage we don’t know if she has internal injuries. The image below her is the area the house backs on to. It was once koala habitat and now it’s a wasteland waiting to be turned into houses. The homeowners did the right thing when they discovered her by
by calling in David Crisafulli MPAVE TO DO BETTER.
We HAVE NO CHOICE.

This is the PRIMARY reason I am in talks with our new Premier, David Crisafulli MP.
He has already demonstrated he’s a man of his word. I tried many times to talk with a succession of Environment Ministers during the Labor govt’s tenure. But NO ONE wanted to engage.
This isn’t about politics.
This is about stopping extinction.
But it does mean changing policies, enacting the power of the EPBC, and changing everything about planning and the types of dwellings that are built.

HELP STOP EXTINCTION.
Add your voice to mine as I take the plight of our koalas to Government, and speak one to one with the one person in QLD who can make the necessary changes.

If you are letting your political beliefs get in the way of doing the right thing for our wildlife, that’s very sad. We are ALL AustralMoreton Bay Koala Rescue ISSUE.

LET’S ALL PULL TOGETHER TO END EXTINCTION.

THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE!

This is industrialisation of our most beautiful places, and it amounts to ecocide.

WHO SIGNED OFF ON THIS?

These wind factories are a ‘false’ so called, green energy solution that so many people are being sucked in by.
It’s not only a total oxymoron to destroy trees to reduce carbon emissions, these wind factories pose a huge threat to the environment in general.

High winds have been shown, as recently as this week, that turbine blades can be ripped off and sent crashing to the ground. As the blades age they release toxic nano particles into the air.

When are people going to wake up to the INDUSTRIALISATION THAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR NATURAL WORLD?

If you are still convinced that we need these turbines then your eyes and ears must be closed.
This is not about supporting fossil fuels or being climate change non believers. This is about the sacrifice of important habitat and unnecessary deforestation.

Do your due diligence. None of it is rocket science. Stop blindly swallowing the corporate greed and the sugar coated messaging around these turbines.

Forest clearing has just commenced at the Lotus Creek Wind Factory site on the high elevation ranges of the Connors Range in Central Queensland, Australia.Th...
