We are a not-for-profit organisation. As an organisation we focus on three main goals.
1. Rehabilitation of wildlife in our care
3. Providing a weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) night time rescue service, available to all other rescue organisations, Council and emergency services on the Sunshine Coast. HOW ARE WE FUNDED? We are funded through the generosity of our supporters and successfully won grants. We
are a registered charity. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We are available for talks, presentations and workshops. Please contact us by email if you are interested in us coming to your community group. Rats are highly intelligent creatures, regardless of their native or invasive status.
Please think TWICE before poisoning these sentient creatures. Rats are super clean animals, they are the bin men of the animal world along with vultures and carrion birds.
They also make great pets.

This is lovely. 🩷
Not only are these birds completely wild and have chosen to hang out with Danielle, she has also become a registered and trained carer for magpies and doesn’t humanise them or keep domestic pets with them.
Shes known as the magpie whisperer and has been documenting magpie behaviour for years.
She’s a great ambassador for the protection of our magpies and educating the public about how to live in harmony with them during breeding season.

A beautiful visitor that needed a bit of help. Freddo stayed for 4 days with us. Feeding on crickets, enjoying damp moss and cooling off in the little bathing area we created in the safety of a vivarium. Froggy was dehydrated and in need of some good food. Once Freddo was ready he went back out into the garden looking plump and happy. Who lives in your back yard? 🐸

Meet Duck the Turkey chick. Duck was rescued due to a nasty limp. One of our team, Oliver, took Duck to Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Eumundi where Dr Claude and the team helped get Duck fit and well. Oliver had the pleasure of taking Duck home and releasing this little pocket rocket back into the wild. Live long, Duck!

I was working in Maleny this morning, and when I headed back to my car this beautiful Magpie came right over to me and sang. I caught a few seconds on video. Enjoy. Claire

10 SECONDS OF JOY AS OUR NAMBOUR BANDICOOT GOES HOME. This beautiful boy got himself stuck under a house for 4 days but with the help of the amazing home owners we were able to trap him. He spent a few days at Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Eumundi where Dr Claude found he had a couple of old healed fractures and a few tick craters. This ‘old’ bandicoot was given some serious TLC, tested for fitness and given the big thumbs up for release back to his home. As you can see from this very happy clip, Mr B Coot was delighted to be released and headed off to his den at the top of the block. He can no longer get under the floorboards and will be spending his time digging up slugs, worms, eating snails and any other delicious morsels he comes across. A request to all keen gardeners, while we are talking all things bandicoots. PLEASE DON’T USE SLUG PELLETS IN YOUR GARDEN - IF BANDICOOTS EAT POISONED SLUGS IT WILL KILL THEM TOO. Use a beer trap - slug love it and at least they die happy! Bandicoots don’t mind pre marinated slugs!
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We are fighting to end systemic bullying, redundancies without reason, shelter budget cutting, threats and flagrant breaches of governance at RSPCA QLD.
