Foster #41 is here. This is Reggie. He’s a 3 month old Irish Setter. He’s around 12lbs. Tiny little nugget. He was rescued by Lil Rascals Dog Rescue after his breeder lost water during a hurricane & decided the animals didn’t need food or water. He loves humans & other dogs. He’s still trying to figure out our cat. He’s so sweet. Can’t wait to watch him gain weight & get healthy 🤍

Today we got foster #40. This sweet girl is Reese (fka Delilah). She was dumped at Orange County Animal Services with pyometra & extremely skinny. She was rescued by Furever Bully Love Rescue. She has had surgery & is recovering well. She’s around 5 years old & only 20lbs. She’s the sweetest little nugget. She does great with all dogs & kitties. She’s very chill. She just wants to cuddle and be near her person. She will be with us until adopted. Videos in comments 🤍

Mom here. Can you believe that Grace will be a Senior in high school next year? From that sweet little girl loving on dogs to an amazing young lady. Orange County Animal Services

Do you ever wonder how so many dogs can just be “stray”? I think the reality is people get tired of the commitment and just abandon them. Some may get out accidentally & their owners just don’t reclaim.

This precious boy is Dalton . Dalton entered the shelter the first week of March as a stray. No one has come looking for him so he waits. He waits for the day when someone will look into his soulful eyes and decide he’s their furever. I’m absolutely in love with this guy. He’s 2 years old, neutered and heartworm negative. Though he’s still considered young, he’s calm. He loves affection and attention. When out in the interaction yard, he wanted to just sit around with me. Just look at the second picture and how he looks at me!! That’s pure unconditional love that he’s waiting to give.

Dalton has been paired easily at the shelter & currently shares his kennel. He doesn’t seem to know many commands, but that’s okay, he’s young and willing to learn.

In just a few days I turn 17. I haven’t been as active with the shelter over the last two years because I’ve been focusing on school, work (yep, got a job at 15) and extracurricular activities with High School. Yesterday when we were there we bumped into a volunteer that’s been helping far longer than we have. The volunteer couldn’t believe how much I had grown. I pulled these two pics as a comparison. 2014 versus 2024.

Yesterday when we were at the shelter it really impacted me. It’s so sad to see so many homeless animals. It’s a never ending community problem. So many people still see animals as disposable. So many people still abuse, neglect and abandon these pets. It’s heartbreaking. Kennel after kennel there were dogs that just want love. They just want a human to commit to them. This isn’t a pet problem, it’s a human problem.

The only way a dent can be made in this problem is if humans stand up! Give a voice to the voiceless. There are so many ways you can help:

- Adopt
- Foster
- Transport
- Volunteer (shelters and rescues need help)
- Donate
- Share social media posts

Over the past ten years l haven’t seen a lot of change. I wish I could say I have. I’m praying the future will be different, but the only way that will happen is if WE ALL step up 🤍

Central Florida

We recently attempted to foster again for the first time in almost two years, but our boy dogs weren’t happy about it. We are heartbroken because this puppy is the absolute sweetest girl.

Please meet Faith. She is a hound/pointer mix that is around 14lbs. She’s 10 weeks old. She’s incredibly mellow for a puppy & just as sweet as can be. She loves being around humans, isn’t phased by other dogs & ignores kitties. She’s independent and loves to explore. Faith likes laying in laps or enjoys dog beds. She’s a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly. She even does amazing around toddlers (no jumping, no nipping).
