Another showcasing of our recent grant recipients! 🥰 We are SO glad their families reached out to us for help!

First up we have fluffball Nala! This pretty lady is actually 10.5 years old and needed some pretty serious dental work done - she has stomatitis and needed all of her toofers removed. 🦷 Next, that cute puppers with the big, beautiful eyes, is Juicy Mae. She just had her vaccinations updated! 💉 The last two are of Mittens. You'll notice in the second pic she's got a little blur/shape over her eye... we didn't want to offend anyone! The first Mittens pic is her beautiful face before she was diagnosed with right-sided nasal carcinoma that caused her eye to swell and close. Her nose and eye sometimes also drained profusely. Unfortunately it is malignant and even more unfortunately, it can't be removed because of where it's located. She's having surgery to try to prevent infection and further tumor growth. Keep your paws crossed for her for a good outcome! 🤞🏻🐾

RACE4Ran is a 501(c)(3) that works in conjunction with Miranda Lambert's MuttNation to coordinate volunteer rescue relay transport and provide monetary vet assistance. In 2024, we've already granted over $50,000 in assistance thanks to our partners and donors. We're hoping to hit $60,000 this year but need your help.

All donations are tax-deductible with the majority of funds from grants, donations, and fundraisers going towards our monetary assistance program, as well as the occasional gas/mileage reimbursement for drivers who really want to drive but need some help and for any last-minute accessories that may come up needed for our rescue transports! 🐾

WE need YOUR help to be able to continue to help pets and their families when they really need it, and in getting animals to safety in rescues or new homes!! If you're unable donate right now, sharing is extremely helpful and so greatly appreciated! WE can't do any of this without YOU! 🥰

RACE4Ran wanted to share some of our most recent grant recipients!!

First up, we have pretty little lady lab Cali! She's, a 1-year-old black lab that was adopted in early August. Shortly after, her new family noticed she was limping and struggling to put weight on her front left leg. Cali was diagnosed with a fracture and arthritis. She has since recovered from an amputation and is now playing happily with her 13-year-old fur sibling! Fluff, the orange cat, had a large cyst or tumor on his chest. His family noticed he was in pain and struggling to lay down comfortably. They took him to the vet where they eventually did a successful tumor removal and he was released and is recovering well at home. Kevin, a 3-year-old black cat, was experiencing difficulty breathing and required oxygen supplementation. He was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a chronic condition that can cause shortness of breath, chest pain, and abnormal heart rhythms. Kevin underwent treatment and will undergo further tests to determine the treatment's effectiveness and his possible eligibility for a HALT study (if needed) in Louisville. Poor Kevin has faced significant challenges in his short life, including an amputation a year ago due to chewing off his own leg after being caught in a hunter's trap. We hope his treatment is successful and that a suitable solution for his HCM is found! Lola, a tabby cat, was found to have substantial dilation of the left kidney and ureter. It was suspected to be caused by a botched spay surgery with damage to the area or occlusion with suture material at the time of the spay. She has received treatment and is now doing well. Next up is Milo, a 1year old DSH. We got to help out with his neuter and vaccinations! We're always excited when we can help with spays and neuters to do our part in lessening the overpopulation of animals in the US. ♥ Finally, poor Raven is scheduled for surgery this week for a tumor removal. As you can see, she has a malignant tumor in the left eye so is going to need an enucleation procedure. She's still just a baby (a few months old) so she should recover well and acclimate to it well!

So far in 2024, with the help of 230 volunteers, we've transported 20 pups almost 17,000 miles to their new homes or rescues, spanning from CA to VT. We've also already granted over $33,000 in assistance thanks to our partners and donors!! In 2023, we were so close to hitting the $60,000 and we're absolutely positive we can reach that in 2024.
