Update on my boy … I feel so good and it’s been wonderful how Ismar an anesthesia resident keeps me informed , 3 long conversations and so kind and understanding. Offered me to come and visit but I declined saying it would be selfish I dont want to upset him , he thanked me and said he wishes other owners would understand. I asked if he has time to send me a photo I would love and he did send multiple which I am attaching. They inserted a tube in to release the air he only needed it at one side , small battles we are winning. Tomorrow morning he will get the CT so see what has caused it , maybe foreign objects ( any kind of grasses) … after the CT docs will call to discuss findings and then we will go forward with the surgery.
He went thru anesthesia well and his blood chemistry is perfect no changes , my boy is strong and healthy this is a freak thing.

The best thing is that he does not have to wear the dreaded collar anymore he hated that , they gave him a suit .

Breaks my heart to see him but makes me happy to see his intense eyes watching all and certainly waiting for Mommy to walk in.

They have reduced the oxygen to 50%

I am very thankful for their care.

Denton NW1 trial, Solo just turned 1 year he is a lot of fun

Solo just turned 1 year old and earned his NW1 and placed 4th overall. He placed 2nd place in the Interior element and also received 2 P for pronounced .

My rock star Fair Play Mothers Day Acorn 🥰💥💥💥🌟🌟 at the Denton Md EltS trial May 11,24 - he placed overall 🥇first place.
The goat barn was such fun …
Acorn already earned his EltS title as the 1st Labrador nationwide and is collecting more points for his second one.

Emmitsburg MD Summit Trial known as one of the hardest sites. Was it a blessing or a curse that we got in the morning off ? We dont care when we can have fun and get in , we dont pick sites or CO‘s we Fair Play British Working Labradors just play whenever we can.
We did not do much training before, surgery, work, family and 3 weeks of sinus infection did not leave time to the prep work of daily training and seminars that so many teams do.
My boy rocked and got 2 pronouncements that are more important than any title - they show the teamwork combined with the craft . He placed first in a speed search where we had 3 1/2 min and 5 hides he did it in 1:56 and danced his way thru hallways and multiple rooms ignoring open doors heading with determination to the hides.
The crazy large areas we searched where I constantly had to ask is that included too prevented me from letting him shine in 2 other searches if I cannot concentrate on my dog I am in his way and prevent him from doing his „ thing“ . Looking at Peru MA searches look much more „relaxing"
I am super proud that my boy got this first place with P under judge Garret Dyer.
Just the week before his EltS with overall - he just rocks and every minute I spend with him working anywhere gives me joy. He ate do many treats yesterday especially loved the venison treats Brenda Hasbargen makes him always especially - they are rocket fuel 😂.
Thank you to Jennifer Moczulski of Red Huskies Nose Work for all she does for all of us , so appreciate you not only as a host but also as a friend.
We are taking a summer break now , no traveling in this traffic. We will enjoy some nearby activities and our family , summer is baby fun at the farm .

What a super fun 3 day weekend ! Huge thank you to my CO Khara Schuetzner , so much fun to work together , thanks to Paula Brainard and Mary Ellen Grady my judges you ladies rock ! Thanks to Kathy Thomas and Ayn Hoyt my VC’s, Ayn Hoyt also the DiW on Friday, my friend Brenda Hasbargen who filled in as host and handler of Frida DIW, so I could play with my baby boy Solo and his Dad Acorn my birthday boy. Thanks to all my amazing volunteers and my SRL Jaquie Reardon - what a super job ! Without all of you this trial would have not been possible but neither without all my competitors that stepped up to the line with their partner - congratulation ! Even if you did not title you were awesome and made beautiful memories . We had it all cold, rain, drama thunderstorms and gorgeous sunshine 🌧️🌦️☀️⛈️🌤️

My little baby boy made me proud today .. we had fun together at our NW Trial , he placed 2nd in exterior and earned his title with 4th place 1:33.71 min/seconds, just 8 seconds slower than 3rd place … he was en route to the scent location in the vehicle search and while pulling there picked up dropped food real quick , great stunt lol.
Happy about the judges remarks “awesome boy” “ nice air scent with strong alert behavior when in odor “ “ love Solos drive “ “k9 was focused on task “ - yep my baby boy taking after his daddy but he has some big shoes to fill …so much fun 🐾🐾🐾
Another big event in his exciting life - he lifted his leg - watch out world 💪🏼😎

DENTON NW1 , NW2, EltS and L1C trials May 10-12,24

Let’s all do this in memory of great NW dogs and one of them let me introduce , he made it in the trial he never had the chance to succeed in many levels but here is to the spirit of NACSW trials and their people

Meet Buddy Williams what a sweet boy. Handler Nancy says :

I adopted Buddy from the county animal shelter when he was around six years old. We started in agility, mostly because that was what my sister was doing with her dog. We did okay, but after an awhile, he got slower. A visit to his vet and then cardiologist confirmed that he had heart disease.

With medication, he remained pretty stable for a few years. He began scent work last August and he loved it. As you can see from the picture, there was nothing better than hearing me say Alert!

Scent work was great for him - it bolstered his confidence and he could participate til the end. I try to convince folks to give it a try, and the ones that do are quickly convinced.

I send out co formations and it broke my heart to receive Nancy’s message back that Buddy did not live to being able to play with us his heart condition ended his life too soon.

Let’s all give it our best in May in memory of Buddy and many other dogs that found their happiness in this sport
