Hello Friends,
This is Beth and I am coming to ask for your help. I know things are tough all over right now, so I try very hard not to ask for donations unless I can see no other way. That point has arrived. Two dogs need to be spayed this week. The bank account is empty after a recent neuter … $150. It has been awhile, and the cost almost caused me to faint. I guess everything really has gone up! If you can help with the two spays, I would greatly appreciate it.

I want to have $300 on hand and hope that will do it. Thank you so much for caring, sharing and for your love and prayers.
Having been told by a few people my stories are too long … I thought I would get the necessities out of the way first.
As Paul Harvey always said …
AND NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY. (You didn’t think I would just leave it there, did you?)
A while back I shared a dog named Baby Girl. She had eight puppies at the time and appeared blind in her right eye. The vet believes her eye was something she was born with. Her eye most likely failed to develop properly. She is only a couple of years old and, sadly, has had puppies every time she came into heat. She was promised the eight puppies would be her last.
She is a wonderful mother … but NO MORE! The last eight were definitely enough. We were able to re-home six of the puppies. So … one boy, Jake, and one girl, Penny, remain.
We have had Mom and pups on a list for spay and neuter for some time. There is a wait of at least two months here since COVID. Several local vets closed up during COVID and never re-opened. When we finally received a call that there was an opening for one, we chose to send Jake. Boys can be harder to handle when the “urge to roam” hits, and I know I can keep the girls safe. I have a neighbor who has a lot of unaltered dogs. I did not want to take a chance Jake might contribute to THAT population.
Baby Girl has decided running free is not the most wonderful thing. Instead, she likes the regular meals … and … she loves to be loved. One day Baby Girl failed to run to me for her belly rubs. She wanted the food she knew was in her bowl but refused to move from her seat. I began petting her slowly … checking for injuries, but not finding anything. Very concerned, I asked her several times, “Baby Girl, what’s wrong?”
Finally, this sweet girl stood up on her seat and turned her backside toward me. She was very obviously in heat. At first, I giggled a little and said, “Baby Girl, no worries! You are safe.”
I do believe she understood, but she was not fully convinced. Later, Baby Girl let Patty know she was in heat and not at all anxious to have more babies.
That night, I shed a few tears thinking about this sweet girl’s fear. How much has it cost her to have so many litters? She is tired and will never have to go through that again if I can help it. So, as her heat cycle has come to an end, I am thrilled we have these two openings for a spay or neuter. Baby Girl and Penny can both go … if I can come up with the funds.
If you can help me to eliminate this sweet girl’s worry once and for all I appreciate it so much. I do hope I will be able to take care of both girls, but Baby Girl WILL go.
As always, your love and prayers mean so much to me. I miss being on Facebook and talking with all of you. But I will not complain because the dogs mean everything to me. I hope and pray you understand.
Forever and Always …
You Sustain Us,
~Beth~
