Kinter Spirit Haven Puppies We, Kinter Spirit Haven have been breeding Pug's and French Bulldog's since 2009, We breed for funct Why pugs?

We are a extended family business, the love of working with animals has been passed down through many generations. Each Generation has gathered more knowledge and skills both in small and large animals.Right now are skills are centered around horses and dogs. We have been breeding since the 1980 as well as training horses. We started breeding Labs then Rotti,s then came pugs. because they brought muc

h love, humor and attitude to our family home, they love children and easily adapt to family life and outings. We love this breed and want others to experience the love this breed has brought us. We do not believe in breeding sons to mothers and daughters to dads or cross breeding breeds to make a so called designer breed, there are no such things as tea cup pugs that you can carry in your purse. We don,t believe in mixing a pug with a german sheppard and putting a 1500 dollar price tag on it. We do beleive in giving you a sound, healthy well balanced, socialized, healthy pug puppy. We raise them under our feet in our living room amongest noise, children, other dogs and cats,we do not kennel,we touch, cuddle and offer free playtime, learn about this at www.puppyculture.com our home is there home.Yes i am a fanatical hobby breeder, these pups are my babies,my human kids got big so i decided to spoil my fur babies.I dress them up,wipe their nose when it runs, make sure they get their vitamins, tuck them into bed at night, stay up at night when one is sick, but I love every minute of it.

🚨 Hot Summers Means Hot Pavement!

Did you know that asphalt and sidewalks can heat up higher than the air temperature? Here's a quick test: hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws! 🐾

Tips to Keep Your Dog's Paws Safe:

✅ Walk earlier or later in the day when it's cooler.
✅ Use Paw Protection: Dog booties can protect their pads.
✅ Walk on the grass instead of the pavement.
✅ Check your dog's paws daily for signs of irritation.
✅ Try indoor enrichment games.
✅ Opt for activities in or near water, like swimming or walking along a creek.

Keep those paws safe and happy! 🌅🌿🐶

🚨 In 2021, Cornell University reported that pet foods are causing liver damage in dogs at an alarming rate. 🐾

Copper Toxicity in Dogs: Copper is essential for dogs, but too much can cause liver damage, leading to liver failure or even death. Symptoms often don't appear until it's too late.

Rising Copper Levels: The average copper in dogs' livers has skyrocketed, with recent studies showing more than half of dogs have excess copper.

Why is this happening? Pet food manufacturers add copper to compensate for losses during processing, often using highly bioavailable forms like copper sulfate. Foods rich in copper, such as liver and sweet potatoes, are also common in dog foods.

❗Protect Your Dog:
- Check your dog's ALT levels regularly.
- Ask pet food manufacturers for a nutritional analysis showing copper levels.
- Aim for foods with copper levels close to AAFCO's minimum requirements: 7.3 mg/kg for adult dogs and 12.4 mg/kg for puppies.

Stay informed and safeguard your dogs from hidden health threats!

🐾 Understanding Heart Murmurs in Dogs 🐾

Heart murmurs in dogs can be harmless or signal serious heart disease. Here's what you need to know:

What is a Heart Murmur?
A heart murmur is an unusual sound heard between heartbeats. It occurs when the heart valves don't seal properly, causing blood to leak backwards. This creates a "whoosh" sound after the regular "lub-dup" heartbeat.

Grading Heart Murmurs
Vets grade heart murmurs from I to VI based on loudness:
- Grade I:** Barely audible
- Grade II:** Soft but easily heard with a stethoscope
- Grade III:** Intermediate loudness
- Grade IV:** Loud and radiates widely
- Grade V:** Very loud, audible with stethoscope barely touching the chest
- Grade VI:** Incredibly loud, may be heard without a stethoscope

What the Grade Means
The grade indicates loudness, but not the cause or severity. Some murmurs are mild and cause no problems, while others can lead to heart enlargement and congestive heart failure.

Questions to Ask Your Vet
- What type or quality of heart murmur does my dog have?
- Is the timing related to breathing or heartbeat?
- Should we see a cardiologist for a second opinion?

Understanding the specifics can help you make informed treatment decisions. Always consider consulting a cardiologist if you're unsure.

About Us

We are a extended family business, the love of working with animals has been passed down through many generations. Each Generation has gathered more knowledge and skills both in small and large animals. Right now are skills are centered around Dogs, Horses and Rabbits.

We have been breeding since the 1980 as well as training horses throughout the years with our trusty dogs at side. We used too breed Labrador's, then Rottweilers. Got busy making a family and working away in Oilfield but once Our lives settled in place and our human kids started getting big, Then came the Pugs in 2009 and Frenchies in 2013. We spoil our fur babies. We dress them up, We wipe their noses when it runs, We make sure they get their vitamins, We tuck them into bed at night, and stay up at night when one is sick, but WE LOVE every minute of it.

Why pugs? because they brought much love, humor and attitude to our family home, they love children and easily adapt to family life and outings. And the same with the French bulldog's, They're also a little more active and suit greatly with our outdoorsy family members. We could never see our family without a pug or frenchie.
