UPDATE ON MAZE!! Her scabs have gotten a lot worse, she finally let me take a picture of them and it’s not looking good. These scabs are all over her head and neck and spreading quickly. I can’t get her to eat and when I do she just throws it up I’m very worried😞 I need to take her to a vet, but it breaks my heart that I can’t afford it due to recently losing my job because of health issues. Please help Maze!!! My sweet girl has been constantly throwing up and has itchy scabs all over😞. I rescued her 2 years ago intending to find her a home but she stole my heart, and I hate to see her so uncomfortable. The world can be so cruel. WHY 😪 I just responded to a post on a group that I subscribe to called Orange Cat Therapy. This was my response:

I see this at 7:29 AM on Sunday morning, March 17th, 2024. I am sure that every family you bless with this gift will be grateful for your generosity. I am recently disabled by psoriatic arthritis and suffer from joint pain, severe fatigue, and cognitive decline. I am currently on FMLA and will officially lose my job as a home bound teacher for children with special needs so severe that their condition prevents them from attending school on a campus. I love my job, and my team, and my school district and am devastated by this loss. Teaching has been my dream since I was five years old and forcing my three year old brother to sit in an old school desk in the basement of our house, in front of an oversized old beat up chalkboard. I do not remember what subjects I taught back then, but I’m sure they were important. I am “all-but-dissertation for my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and that goal is no longer attainable for me. I have no income and am caring for my my elderly mother who has cancer. We had to sell our home last year and move in with a friend. I have begun the process of applying for SSDI benefits but have been told that it will be a minimum of six months to a year before I receive anything and much longer if I am denied the first time. My children, my mom, and I have been looking for our own place to rent and were so excited to find a place we could afford together. Then my realtor told us we should not even bother applying because we don’t have credit scores over 600. My family has all rallied around me and used their money to help me see specialists and pay for my numerous prescriptions (I have several other diagnoses that are not new) and the expenses have put us all in a bad financial position. Yesterday I also found out the medical insurance I had through my employer was canceled. I have no medical insurance. Your generous gift would be so appreciated by my entire family during this time of sadness and desperation. I do not know what my future will look like, but I do know what today would look like if you choose me as one of your recipients. Regardless, I feel like putting my story into words has been therapeutic and I thank you for being part of it.”

After I hit send I received a notice that my response was not sent because it was not allowed by the group admin. Realizing that this was just a scammer I poured my heart out to, I was gripped with sadness and another ache in my heart just as if I was experiencing yet another loss in my life. I still believe what I said at the end of my response. Putting my story into words felt therapeutic and I AM thankful for that. But why people, do you want to take advantage of, and cause more pain and grief, to those who are most vulnerable to your evil intent? WHY? WHY? WHY?😪
