Lysine is an essential amino acid required by cats. Many veterinarians have been recommending lysine for feline herpes. There is evidence that lysine increases arginine availability to the cat leaving less arginine needed by the virus to reproduce. The research on this has been mixed at best. With that being said, many veterinarians still believe they are getting results using lysine for feline herpes. In Cat Biotic, we included lysine because of multiple veterinarian requests. The purpose of lysine in Cat Biotic is to supply an inexpensive required nutrient to support a healthy cat in a palatable powder form.

Absolutely agree about lysine it does wonders. I am trying to figure out why there are studies saying it doesn't help or can make things worse. It has almost made an immediate change in my cat. He's definitely improved. I wonder how big their study groups are?
