I have so much to be thankful for. Except for the pig and the dog, who are hoping to be left alone in the garden. I'm not so thankful for the problems they have caused but I suppose the challenge of keeping them out will make for an interesting summer. I loose my livelihood if I don't succeed.

Bernalillo County's Grow the Growers program is offering a Winter Business Series (January 21st – March 25th, 2025), a series of eight in-person classes designed to explore agriculture as a business, led by various facilitators and instructors to guide new and beginning farmers through.

*Developing your farm business plan
*Record-keeping
*Local market-opportunities
*Taxes for farmers
*Accessing capital with government programs

Classes will be held at the BernCo NMSU Cooperative Extension Office 1510 Menaul Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.

12/31/24 garden honorable mentions go to the Collard, Mustard, lettuce, carrots, beets, and herbs still growing. I have plans to expand the growing area in 2025 for a small market garden space while working on a degree in Agriculture. For now the cover crop of winter rye is slowly growing and filling in the bare ground left exposed after the last of the heat loving plants were harvested.
