FIDO's Companion Rescue Inc. FIDO's Companion Inc. Weekly we rescue dogs as well from many other rural county shelter in mid and southern Ohio and KY before they are put to sleep.

is a small non-profit 501(c)3 organization operating in Lorain County made up of volunteers who perform vital functions in the process of rescuing animals. We primarily rescue dogs from the streets in our County and County Dog Pound or ill/injured dogs coming into our Vet Clinic from Cuyahoga County. We secondarily assist with taking in homeless stray dogs and funding the spay/neuter of homeless d

ogs and cats for other independent local rescuers and vet clinics who take them in off the street and work to rehome them. Lastly, we help fund the Spay/Neuter of dogs that low income owners cannot afford. FIDO's Companion rescue strives to find new adoptive families willing to make a lifetime commitment and be lifetime companions for each dog we rescue. Our focus is on the QUALITY of life we provide to one canine companion at a time. FIDO's Companion believes that the value of what we do is not in the Quantity of animals we save, but in the Quality of the new life we provide to them. We also know we cannot rescue our way out of pet overpopulation, therefore, we work in our rescue and with our community to ensure spay/neuter is achieved for animals we come into contact with or are made aware of needing altered. We also strive to educate the public including school age children about humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering pets

Sandy is a 5-month-old, 36 pound mixed breed puppy who is fully vetted and working on potty training.

Sandy is a friendly, outgoing, and energetic girl who never meets a stranger. Sandy adores people and plays wonderfully with other dogs, making her the perfect fit for an active family. She does have a strong interest in cats, so she’s best suited for a no-cat home.

Meet Minnie TOMORROW Sept 7 at Cause 4 Paws at Firelands Chevy in Vermillion from 10-12!

Minnie is a lovable 7½-year-old, 18 pound Rat Terrier mix with a gentle spirit and a friendly personality. She’s house trained, does great in a crate, and gets along well with other dogs—big or small. Minnie is the kind of dog who’s always happy to greet you with a wagging tail and enjoys being part of the action.

She has a playful streak and finds it fun to chase cats, so she’d do best in a cat-free home or with a confident cat who doesn’t mind a little terrier-style fun.

Minnie is diabetic and requires insulin shots twice a day, so she’ll need a committed adopter who can manage her medical routine. Don’t let that scare you—she handles her injections like a champ, and the love and loyalty she gives in return make it all worth it.

If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who still has plenty of pep in her step, Minnie could be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring joy, love, and a little bit of terrier sass into your life!

🚨 URGENT: 4 Puppies Saved from Euthanasia🚨

Just 3 weeks old, these babies, covered in fleas, lost their mom and had nowhere to go. They were minutes from being euthanized when Fido’s Companion stepped in to split the litter with another rescue. 💔

They now need bottle feeding, medication for kennel cough, vaccines, food, and vet care. Their care will cost $1,000+.

Rex is a 2 year old beagle who is fully vetted & working on house-training.

Rex is a gentle boy who came to us as a stray alongside his mom, Ruby Rose. While they’re not bonded, they really enjoy each other's company—if you’re considering adopting two dogs, Rex and Ruby would make a wonderful pair! That said, Rex is also totally ready to find his forever home on his own.

True to his beagle nature, Rex loves being outside—his favorite activity is running around and sniffing everything in sight. He’s on the shy side at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes the sweetest, most affectionate little companion.

Rex is working on his housetraining and already understands that outside is where to go—he’s well on his way! He loves his crate and often goes in on his own to nap or relax, but he’d also be perfectly content curled up in bed next to you. He’s a quiet boy (we haven’t heard him bark yet!) and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and even strangers.

Meet Deuce!

Deuce is a 10-year-old, 55 pound Black and Tan Coonhound who is fully vetted and house trained .

This sweet gentleman has the calmest, most easygoing personality—you can’t help but fall in love with him. He’s a fantastic walking buddy, strolling politely on leash, and he doesn’t bat an eye at the cats in his foster home.

Deuce is wonderful with other dogs and great with kids, making him an all-around family dog. At home, he’s happiest wagging his nubby little tail and lounging around, enjoying the simple life.
