This morning Goose met my friend Vinny from up the street and they walked around the entire neighborhood. Vinny's mom said "Goose and Vinny walked together like they have been friends forever!" Goose is still looking for his forever home and is available through Second Chance Animal Alliance! He has been staying with a temporary foster but he will have to go back to the shelter Wednesday. He says he has really gotten used to the house dog life and sleeping on nice soft dog beds with lots of blankets! I personally know his foster human and she says that goose is well-behaved and house trained and just a wonderful good boy. If you can foster him even for a week or two, please contact Second Chance. Better yet, adopt him! 🥰

Second Chance Animal Alliance brought several of their adult dogs to an adoption event at Tractor Supply Company in Oxford MS yesterday. Except for Falcon who is being fostered, these dogs live at the shelter, and days out like this are SO important to their socialization. I can't describe what a fabulous time each and every one of them had! You can also find ways that you can help these dogs and all the other SCAA animals--adoption, fostering, doggie day outs, donations of time or supplies or money. Also, I want to say thank you to the staff at the Oxford store for welcoming the volunteers and loving on the dogs while they were there. They couldn't have more nice and considerate and caring to us humans or the dogs!

Falcon is another of the amazing pups available at Second Chance Animal Alliance. He was the youngest at the adoption event today. For a limited time, if you adopt falcon and buy this brand new riding lawnmower, Falcon will cut your grass for free for the reminder of this summer!

Goose is a young boy but he is out of the puppy stage. He was part of a pack that hung out at a gas station on the highway in Water Valley, but he lives at Second Chance Animal Alliance now. One of my hooman friends kept Goose for a doggie day out a few days ago, and she said he is AMAZING. He was so polite and well mannered at her house. Today at the adoption event he got along with all the other dogs and every hooman that came by. He can be silly and playful but he likes a quiet snuggle just as much. I really hope Goose can find a forever home soon!

This is Goose. He is kid-friendly and dog-friendly and very chill. The daddy met him at last month’s Second Chance Animal Alliance’s adoption event, and I’m surprised he’s still available because he is such a great dog. Come out and see for yourself tomorrow, Saturday, July 6, at Tractor Supply in Oxford between 9 AM and noon. The daddy will be there with him.

Foster needed! 🐶❤️❗️

Jingles is the dog most people would have overlooked at the shelter cause he was scared there. His current foster gave him a chance and he thrived! His foster has to go out of town from June 28- July 17 though and Jingles needs a couch to crash on. He is kid-friendly, dog-friendly (no intact males), house-trained, and leash-trained. Jingles does not do well in the shelter and we would really like for him not to go back there. Please let us know if you can foster Jingles even just part of the time. It would make all the difference to this good boy!

I just came across some older pictures of Brownie that the daddy took in May’s Second Chance Animal Alliance adoption event. He got a good picture of his eyes! They are so soulful. 😍 Let’s find this boy a forever home. He is up to date on vaccinations and great with kids and dogs and cats!

I want to introduce you to Brownie. Brownie is available for adoption through Second Chance Animal Alliance. We think he is a spaniel mix--maybe even a Brittany spaniel / Jack Russell mix. He was so well-behaved and relaxed and just plain chill at the adoption event today. He was totally non-reactive to other dogs, even the ones that barked at him. He is already good with children and kitty cats! That tail wagged the entire time! Brownie is going to be a GREAT family pet so please give him a chance! He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $100.

Second Chance Animal Alliance needs people to temporarily take several of their dogs tomorrow afternoon Sunday, 6/23/2024, from 1-6 pm as the town of Water Valley cuts the power to the town for equipment repairs. During this time, the entire town will not have power. The temps will be well into the 90s. If you can help, please contact them asap.

Our shelter will be part of the section of Water Valley that will lose power from 1-7pm tomorrow. We are looking for volunteers to give 6 of our dogs a day away from the shelter. We provide all the supplies. We just need some people to take the dogs on a field trip! Please let us know asap if you can help these pups beat the heat!

My friend Vinny came out to walk with me this morning. He showed me his cool Yeti stuffy toy! He is such a good boy!
