My heart aches knowing that my time with Midge is acutely felt, my time with her is managed by forces that I cannot control. My biggest fear is arriving: The loss of a friend, the loss of an animal, and god only knows what lurks under it all. I am sad today. Grieving is difficult. Mixed messages are difficult.
