Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet Ollie
a just over two year old, 50 pound, Boxer/Black Lab mix boy from Mississippi. How has this handsome boy been looking for his forever family for over a year already?

Poor Ollie did not have an easy life before coming into rescue. He came to us malnourished, dehydrated, and had lost all his fur from a collar that had been imbedded and caused infection in his neck. But somehow this never stopped him from being a friendly, loving, outgoing pup. Oh the resilience of dogs!!

Meet Romeo
an 18 month old, 54 pound, Boxer/Lab mix boy who was found as a stray in Georgia. How this crazy handsome and loving boy been looking for a family for over A FULL YEAR we will never know.

Where is his Juliet family? No star crossed love here - just pure on affection and loyalty will come your way with Romeo.

"Romeo is a total lover boy! He is a happy go lucky, joyful and bouncy!! He loves playing and exploring. But after a good play session he is 100% ready and happy to cuddle with you and love on you. He has a very chill side too. He would do best in an active home because like other young and active puppies need exercise like hiking, walking, and exploring every day! Romeo is very, very smart! He is a really good listener and is developing great manners - he has been very easy to train. He is super friendly, loves attention, and loves to play. He is great at sharing toys with other dogs and loves having a buddy to run around with (not that he couldn't be your one and only either). He loves car rides and exploring. Romeo would be best in a home with a yard (versus an apartment) as this boy loves space and places to explore. Romeo is a fantastic dog!! He has a great disposition like an old soul in a fabulous puppy! Some lucky family will get a wonderful new member! I am shocked it is taking so long because this boy is pure gold!"

Meet Hulk Marvel
a 9 month old, Hound mix, who weighs approx 45 pounds.

"We think Hulk is pretty incredible! He greets us with gentle kisses and friendly tail wags. He enjoyed his car ride home and was well-behaved and very sweet. He met our three resident dogs and was happy to go for a hike with them. He can be a little zig-zaggy on a leash but doesn’t pull too much. He’s been doing his business outside with no accidents yet. He seems to enjoy his crate and knows that’s his space. He likes snuggling the stuffed kitty he picked out and keeps asking for tummy rubs. First impression is he could fit into any family that wants the perfect medium sized cutie pie all-around great dog!"

Hulk has a sweet and gentle soul. He adores his humans!
And he can't wait for a family to call his own.

is a 13 week old, Black Lab / Jack Russel Terrier mixes who were an unwanted litter down in Tennessee. Charlie Golden currently weighs 22 pounds.

“Charlie is a very happy puppy, who loves to play with his toys and romp around the house. His ears and paws are too big for him right now, which makes his bountiful energy even cuter.
He is thriving on a schedule and loves to impress us. He is very treat motivated so training is coming along well. He is so proud of himself when he goes potty outside and will ensure you have a treat for him. He is also learning sit and come on command. He still has a lot to learn, but he has been an absolute delight to share our home with.”

Meet Lillianne.
This LOCAL lady is a 1 year old, Mountain Cur / Husky mix, who weighs 60 pounds.
Lillianne was surrendered to us by her previous owners, an older couple, who loved her very much but recently became sick and could no longer care for her. She was adopted by them when she was a baby, and they want her to find a new family who will love her as much as they do.
This girl only deserves the best.

Lillianne is a love bug! She is very energetic, and would love a playmate who could keep up with her energy level.

Meet Bailey Rose
a ~1.5 year old, Yellow Lab mix, who weighs about 47 pounds. Bailey Rose comes to us as a surrender due to no fault of her own - her previous family is no longer able to provide this golden girl with all of the love and attention she deserves.

Bailey Rose is a friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful and smart girl! Did we mention she is also house broken, crate trained, and walks well on her leash?!
She loves going for car rides and knows her basic commands (sit, paw, down, come).
She is an active girl who loves to play and explore and would do best with an active family who will bring her on adventures!! She is very well socialized with people and other pups, and loves playing with kids! She would do best with older kids because she can sometimes get excited and would hate to knock over a little kiddo accidentally. She is such a love bug who is waiting to find her forever family!

"Bailey Rose is SUCH a sweet girl. She is clever, adaptable and so well behaved. She is the happiest girl, does extremely well in the car, and sleeps straight through the night in her crate. She gives the best cuddles and has been great with our resident dog.
Bailey Rose is an energetic girl, so I think she would do best in a house with a yard. After a run around outside or a nice walk, she’s happy to come home and relax."

Meet King and Creo
16 week old Boxer/Pointer mix boys.

King and his brother Creo were found as strays in Tennessee.
As of 2/4/25 King weighs 25 pounds, Creo weighs 20 pounds and we expect them to be medium sized dog when full grown.

His foster mom says
"King and Creo are such a gorgeous boys! They are so sweet and quiet. They are submissive with older bigger dogs and give them a lot of respect. They are living in a foster home with 3 children who they absolutely adore. They are good boys who get along well with everyone. They love to play and romp and will entertain you for hours on end. Either of these boys would be an amazing addition to any dog loving family."

Aries Zodiac
and his siblings are 3 month old, Lab / Cur mixes. These babies were born on 10/30/24 and currently weigh about 13 pounds.

These puppies are happy, healthy, and incredibly sweet! They are very well socialized and affectionate. They love everyone they meet - ranging from toddlers to elders! Just like most babies, they play hard and nap hard all day long. They do great with other dogs, and have met some feline friends. They respect the inside cats, and think it's fun to chase the outdoor cats but they are still young and trainable. They will need a loving family committed to their training since they are young. The Zodiac pups are a bunch of shining stars who are ready to wag their way into your heart!

Bentley was found as a stray after he was rescued by a police officer and brought into our rescue. Unfortunately, we never found his owner so now we're here to help him find his forever family!

"Bentley was a scared pup at first but is coming out of his shell. He is a sweet boy who loves to be loved! He is pretty good on a leash, and is doing great with the other pups in our care. We're learning more and more about Bentley every day, but he is such a sweet boy who deserves a loving family. We haven't seen him with kids, but think he should be fine with them given his personality. He will be a loving and loyal partner to one lucky family!"

M E E T
Millie Mellow
a beautiful gal who was found as a stray with her sister Maggie Mellow in Mississippi. Here sister Maggie was adopted nine months ago - but poor Millie has been looking for her forever family for over a YEAR now somehow!
She is a just about 2 year old, 45 pound, Rescue Mutt mix.
She is really smaller than she looks because she is a petite gal.

We added one of her original rescue pictures so you can see how far this girl has come - and why she deserves all your love!! She and her sister were found wondering around someone’s house and supposedly their former owner couldn’t afford to feed them - so our rescue partner sent money until she could make the drive to get them a week later. They were absolutely starving when they came to rescue, so we assumes the former owner was using the money for other things and not the dogs.
It was heartbreaking!

But Millie is a young soul who's as sweet as sugar. She's a cuddly companion whose gentle nature is sure to warm your heart!
Millie can be a little shy, but don't let that fool you. She's friendly to all who show her kindness. Millie's trust isn't given lightly, it's earned. Speak to her softly, with patience and love, and you'll find a loyal friend for life. She's a loving dog whose heart is as big as her spirit. Her soft whimpers and wagging tail tell a story of a pup who just wants to love and be loved.

Robert Raymond
and his siblings were rescued after being born under a house in frigid winter temps! We're so happy we found them when we did and were able to bring them to safety. Their momma was a medium sized mixed pup (we are guessing Yellow Lab and maybe Husky / Collie / Spitz?). So, while these pups look like they could grow up to be big - we are guessing they will be medium size once fully grown!

For Robert Raymond, we are guessing he is Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees / Husky / Lab mix. As of 2/2/25, he is 7 weeks old and ~9 pounds. Despite their rough beginnings, these pups have so much love to give. They were previously living under a house with other dogs, but since they're young, we can guess they'll be good with other pups, kids and cats with proper exposure. They are still young and will need a family who is committed to their training.

These dogs are just as lovable as the show that makes us all laugh. It's impossible not to love these guys!

Meet Simmons
a 3 year old, 46-pound Husky/Shepherd mix who is a handsome southern gentleman!

Those eyes, that smile, his beautiful coat. He wouldn't last two minutes on Match.com but for some reason his true love family hasn't swiped in the right direction yet!

Simmons foster says if he could talk about himself this is what she thinks he would tell you...
"I am the neighborhood flirt! I am confident in MY stellar good looks and eyes like the ocean BUT I am a gentleman (That's what my foster mom says). I am an extrovert pup looking for my extrovert human. I was an orphaned pup that was hit by a car, a nice lady picked me up and kept me safe until my foster mom arrived. I had surgery on my right front leg to fix the damage. My foster mom said I am even better than new!!! I am able to run, walk, hike or whatever the exercise might be. Nothing will stop me. Can I go on adventures with you?"

Simmons loves other dogs - they are his best friends. So he would love a canine sibling but it is definitely not a must - he would also do fine with human best friends only. This boy LOVES to play! He is active, eager to learn, and will be easily trainable for someone who has the time. He loves all people, and has never met a stranger! And he loves attention too. Give him belly rubs all day long and he is the happiest boy on the planet! He also loves nylabones - yummm. Simmons will do best with older kids due to his excitement level. He is not well suited for a home with cats or small animals - he thinks they are fun to chase.

This boy is truly the total package - good looks, great personality, and a loving companion.

Meet Butterball Destiny
an adorable 2 year old Bull Terrier/Boxer mix who currently weighs approximately 50 pounds.

Butterball just can't catch a break!
First he was a stray.
Then he was in foster and survived a tornado in Mississippi and their foster lost their home.
And now he has been waiting and waiting and waiting to be adopted.
(You can see by the puppy picture just how long!)

Butterball has the most gorgeous brindle coloring and adorable white paws. He is energetic, happy, healthy and a playful boy.
He loves playing with other dogs and with toys. And he absolutely LOVES human attention from adults and kids alike.

Meet Terra Auburn.
This seven month old girl was rescued here locally from neglect and starvation. And despite this she is the nicest girl.

At roughly 40lbs she is the perfect size to join her furever family on adventures. Terra loves other dogs of all ages and sizes. She is social and enjoys making new friends. Including cats! She currently lives with several cats. At our recent adoption event, Terra was a hit meeting families with and without kids. She has ears for days that are just the cutest. And the best head tilt!
Terra is ready to forget her past and is eager to be part of a loving family!

"Tara was rescued from a horrible condition and has shown incredible resilience and is now thriving. She is extremely affectionate and loving. She enjoys playing like a puppy with each passing moment. She loves treats and is very food motivated, showing her eagerness to learn. Terra loves other dogs and is good with cats too! She loves to play fetch and will find any ball you throw. She’s such a great dog, especially considering all she’s been through. You would never know the background she had unless somebody told you. She’s beyond affectionate and motivated to be the best girl. She is going to make a wonderful family dog!"
