2024 has presented us with many challenges but because of our dedicated Vet staff, surgeons & volunteers we all worked together to press forward, on a mission to spay & neuter as many unwanted animals as we possibly could. Preventing thousands of others being born into the over population crisis we are in.
Even with the challenges we had, we managed to spay & neuter 5892 animals!! We will easily reach over 6000 by year end! For the hurdles we crossed, the dedication & hard work, all reasons to celebrate our accomplishments during this joyous season!!
We appreciate every one of you beyond words!

Dixie’s Heartbreaking Journey to Safety

This is the story of Dixie, a beautiful black cat with a soul full of love—and a story that will leave you heartbroken and angry. 💔

Dixie was dumped. Yes, someone heartlessly abandoned her in a colony in North Foley, leaving her defenseless in a world she couldn’t survive. Why? Because Dixie is declawed—a cruel act on its own, but an absolute death sentence when a cat is forced to fend for herself. Without claws, she couldn’t protect herself, couldn’t climb to safety, couldn’t even fight for scraps of food.

The colony feeder found her, terrified and struggling, and brought her to us. It’s a miracle she survived as long as she did. Declawed and dumped—this is the reality of what happens when people treat animals as disposable. 😡

But Dixie’s story doesn’t end there. Here at Coastal Cat Sanctuary, she’s finally safe. She’s warm, loved, and finally beginning to heal. Dixie is a gentle, affectionate soul who adores snuggling, purring softly, and following her people around like the loyal friend she longs to be.

Let her story inspire you to be the change. Adopt, advocate, Reach out to your elected officials and never stop fighting for animals like Dixie who deserve so much better. 💔🐾

We are in need of carriers again!! You can’t imagine the various ways cats are brought in to us. We cannot send them home in what they are brought in so we have to part with our carriers & rarely get them back. That’s ok, we want everyone to get home safely! A small sacrifice. But we are short again & desperately need more!!
If anyone has one you don’t need or if you happen to see any at yard sales or thrift stores, please think of us so we can continue sending kitties home safe & secure!

We would love your softly used cat toys and things!

Many of you may have cat trees, cages, tunnels, cat/dog bowls, or toys sitting idle in your garage because your cats (and dogs) are picky !!! We want to invite you to be a part of our Cat Toy and Supplies Drive! We can also use pillowcases and old towels!

Drop-off locations for your donations are conveniently located at
Creekside Mini Golf and Arcade or Beachside Mini Golf in Orange Beach. (open 7 days a week)
