Another great Stray Spay Day yesterday! Transportation to/from Stapleton provided by Baldwin Humane Society.
19 females & 13 males altered & back to their homes where they are loved by their caretakers! That’s hundreds less to be born to stray cats!

We have one more Stray Day scheduled to/from Robertsdale on Feb 18th. Scheduling for March is in question with recent significant reduction in funding for TNR in unincorporated areas of Baldwin County & less populated towns. That’s a vast area of our County!!
Please consider sponsoring an unfunded cat for only $57! Or if you have the means to sponsor a day, it averages $1200 for 20 cats, that are not funded,. This will help us so we can plan dates in March.

How can one person save a hundred cats? By spaying/neutering just ONE!

Regrettably, recent changes in County funding has compromised our efforts & progress we’ve made to reduce the over population of Stray cats in our Community.
It will also affect the Stray Cat spay/neuter clinic opportunities we just started in October. A wonderful service we were providing to those that care & have grown to love the stray cats that chose them. None of us put them in their situations but care for their well being.
Finding affordable spay/neuter for the stray cats that walked into the lives & hearts of so many, will again be a problem in our Community.
As we start into Spring Kitten season, all of our efforts will quickly be undone in just a few short months. We cannot do what we do without sufficient funding! Now we must plea for sponsorship & donors to help continue what we started.
We need your help!! Please consider sponsoring Spay/Neuter (TNVR) for a Stray Cat. For $57 you can help us prevent more stray cats! With that, we provide surgery, 24 hour pain medication, rabies & FVRCP vaccinations, deworming & flea treatment.

12 hour handwarmers work brilliantly under most water bowls. Dry kibble won't freeze solid overnight. Community Cats are boss!!

The Vouchers are free & cover $100 for dogs & $50 for cats, to be applied towards cost of spay/neuter. Limited to 2 per household.

The Surgery Center is a participating clinic!! However, since we are private, not open to the general public, we are limited to assisting low income pet owners only. If you or someone in your household receive some sort of government assistance &/or your household income is below the states median income, email your county voucher & low income documentation to [email protected]

There are currently no additional costs involved for spay/neuter surgery using the vouchers at The Surgery Center. Rabies will be required, at low cost, if not current.

If you do not meet low income requirements, you will need to contact the other participating clinics the County lists to inquire about their prices & requirements. We do not know that information.

Do your part to reduce the over population of animals!! Spay/neuter your pets!

As we prepare for the surgery day, with 35 cats transported for our Stray spay/neuter clinic, we would like to thank everyone that brought their stray cats to meet us in this very cold weather, for caring for the cats, doing what they know is right.
We would also like to thank our funding partners. Every municipality, except two, in Baldwin County knows there’s a problem with stray cats & understands TNR is the humane solution to control the over population. Without this funding, we could not do what we do! And for that, we are so very thankful!
We’d also like to thank Baldwin Humane for providing the transport!
With these 36 cats today, we are saving hundreds from being born into the same fates as theses cats!
PREVENTION is the solution!! It’s going to take Community effort & cooperation to get ahead of the over population crisis. Please do your part!

If you have a stray cat that you’ve taken indoors that has become your pet (or a dog) & need low cost assistance, you can obtain a spay/neuter Coupon from Baldwin Co Animal Shelter website & reach out to their participating clinics. The Surgery Center accepts the coupons but limited to assisting low income households only.

This afternoon, we will close out the last surgery day of 2024 with 6,232 spay/neuter surgeries! We would like to thank everyone that has made it possible to save animals from being born into the same terrible fates of the over population crisis we will be battling for years to come. We are so grateful for what we have & what we’ve accomplished, we can’t do it without support! We look forward to continuing our vital mission in 2025!!

Start the New Year doing the right thing for the Stray cats you care for with spay/neuter. TNVR, Trap Neuter, Vaccinate & Return. Stop the breeding cycle! The over population of stray cats will get worse before it gets better, do your part NOW!

If you have taken in a stray or you have pets & cannot afford to get them spayed/neutered, there are resources to assist with low cost. Baldwin Humane, Stray Love Foundation both have a Voucher program. Baldwin Animal Shelter has Coupon Vouchers. Medicaid recipients also have resources.

Please, prevent unwanted litters!! Give your furry family member or innocent strays a healthier & longer life! Spay/neuter saves lives!! Prevention is the humane solution to the over population!!
