Please help!! In the process of helping people alter kittens before they rehome them we constantly struggle to be able to send kittens home in separate carriers. It is not safe to have multiples in one carrier. People usually don’t have enough to do this.
On sale through 6/29, PetSmart has these carriers! Using code SAVE20, they end up being just under $7. That is the same price for the one time use cardboard ones!!
Please consider purchasing & donating so we can send babies home safely!
Or if you have used carriers, any condition, we’ll gladly take those too!

“A LOT” is right! If you’re feeding just one, don’t waste any time. All too often people delay, thinking it’s not my cat, not my responsibility. Then it becomes overwhelming & you need help NOW! Problem is, everyone else does too. Why let it get to that point? It’s a lot harder to help with the “now’s” when there are so many. Don’t delay! Spay/neuter before there is urgency!

Tell your friends!! Tell anyone!! Just spread the word. Resources are available, people just need to get off their selfish butts & do something!

Tell your friends, neighbors, pizza restaurant managers (ahem ahem), and your cousins to get their animals fixed. Tell them about the places that help with it. Then in a month, ask them what steps they’ve taken to get it done.

What we’re doing is not enough. What all of the rescues, organizations, and shelters are doing collectively, is not enough. Because we have far too many NON SPAY/NEUTERERS and repeat offenders constantly adding to the population.

We have multiple locations with 5 and more litters of kittens already born on our list waiting for assistance with the adults. Spay and neuter is not a new concept, folks. In Louisville it has been free for strays for a very long time. Shamrock has provided vouchers for free spay/neuter for owned pets for a very long time. We should not have the catastrophic population explosion we have right now (we will plan a post to talk about why it is truly catastrophic).

We can’t do anymore than we’re doing. We operate every week at our fullest capacity. It is time for the general public to step up and do more. What will YOU do to help your own situation or someone you know?

Just so you know

Posting as a reminder. If you pick up a dog, call as soon as possible, please keep in mind you may be taking care of that dog until pick up. Calls are processed in order and also depends on the amount of room we have. We do not take in dogs over the counter. We have been flooded with calls and doing the best we can with adoption/redemptions/rescue pulls. If you are needing help with spay and neutering, please call the front office and we can give you some resources to help. We also have a food pantry if you are needing help with dog/cat food. Supplies are limited but we will help the best we can! We are sorry for any inconvenience but we are doing our best!

No, no, no!!! Cannot believe this response about altering juvenile cats. THIS is beyond selfish!! Every animal welfare organization & Veterinary medical professional in the world would advise against this. Why would someone not trust the people that know animals best??
Animals are not humans. They do not enjoy s*x. They do not dream of having offspring. If they had a choice, could control their hormones, could prevent this, they would choose not doing it.

That is only one of many reasons this is the most ridiculous thought process of people in our world! STOP thinking you know more than the professionals. Step into the world of animal welfare for a few days & stop being selfish!
This is so disappointing. It’s people like this that set us back on making an impact to protect animals!!!

The Universes Kitten (cat) Distribution System is at its peak! 98% of these critters that show up are not owned (or no longer owned) & looking for help. Just because you don’t own them doesn’t mean you can’t prevent more. Don’t let them multiply, being 20 more cats by fall.
We know how the system works, fix these kittens & cats asap!
