Today I have decided to Offer one of my Lune Valley Long Hives for sale complete with a Colony of Bee’s. For a Special PRICE of £650. This hive is the culmination of years of trial and error, I have developed this hive for easy beekeeping, using a non-invasive approach. The 24 frames 14 x 12 size in the main brood box, this is developed for the bees only, by year two the brood chamber will be full of brood and stores set up by the bees with the stores of choice, by year two the ABOVE brood super or supers, are there for the beekeeper. This helps alleviate the gut problems and diarrhoea, which can lead to dehydration. as the bees in the big chamber have their chosen stores and do not need feeding man made solutions. The entrance is offset so that the first winter the bees can be positioned so that the entrance is adjacent to the colony to avoid direct draft. Then the following spring full access is given to the whole bottom box, which in turn diminishes the need to swarm.

So today was inspection day on the bespoke barrel made for Jim at our apriary. Standard whisky barrel made with 18 cn'd custom frames, six of these are designed to hold national frames which are prefect for transferring colony's too. We had already inspected the right hand side and you catch us inspecting the left hand side. 3 months ago this Nuc was transferred in and I think you'll agree its booming, regular inspections and syrup for when they need is always on hand. Lovely AMM bee's from our good friend Dan Wharfedale Hives !!! check out his natonals and nucs they are fab, he does sell bee's as well, subject to availability.
