The Muffin and the Cheese bakery started in 2013 when my dog Teddy (nicknamed Muffin) and little pet mouse Hen (a.k.a. Teddy was rescued in 2010 and was plagued with allergies so severe, he had his own dermatologist, wore shoes, had weekly baths and was on a strict diet to keep the hives and infections at bay. I couldn't find cookies for him that did not contain"filler" ingredients so I began baki
ng cookies for him instead. Teddy and Hen enjoyed each others company and Teddy shared many cookies and treats with his little friend. Their relationship was sweet and loving and lasted until little Hen passed over the rainbow bridge a few years later. Even though little Hen is no longer around, I decided to start a bakery, dedicated to the memory of their friendship, and using only organic, high quality, human grade ingredients. Having witnessed first hand how important clean ingredients were for Teddy, I wanted to open a shop so I could share the yummy snacks, and magical friendship, that Teddy and Hen shared together. As an Animal lover and currently a proud mom to 2 dogs and a kitty I have always been passionate about helping our four legged family members live happy and healthy lives. Having worked at multiple vet hospitals and as a former dog trainer for many years I know how important it is to have healthy, wholesome foods and tasty snacks! My time at the vet hospitals inspired me to also create low or no protein treats for those with renal issues and weight issues, or allergies. At my store you will find cookies, wholesome dried fruits and veggies all made from organic ingredients that I try myself before putting them on my store "shelves". All my snacks and treats are baked fresh and are packaged immediately after they cool/dry so they can be shipped to you as fresh as possible.
