The old farm quad that came with the place was on its last legs.
Try to turn right - you'd go left into a fence.
The seat was in tatters and the girls would keep a heshan sack ready to sit on, tyres couldn't get any balder, rear brakes had been locked up for around 5 years and she hadn't had any love for a loooong time.
Decided it was time to replace, while scrolling through fb for a second hand bike, I seen an add for Mahon's Mini Motor's he is new to tassie and close to home in Bracknell.
Chris has had the bike under 2 weeks and she's like new. Exceptional job mate! and I would highly recommend for all your small engine services, repairs and any work needed on your gear. Brilliant service and nothing was an issue. Went above and beyond.

Well that's a wrap! Hay carting 2023 done and dusted with only a bit left to tidy up tomorrow! Many hands make light work so thanks to our awesome agistees, family and friends for jumping in and giving us a huge help. Light on this year but enough to get us through.

***HUGE NEWS***
Sorry in advance - this is going to be a long post!

Over the past 3 months we have been working on a huge project! This week that project was completed and we are super excited!
Kilburn Lodge Equine Agistment now has lights! our 60m x 20m sand dressage arena is fully lit and ready for night riding!
This is an awesome addition to partner with our oversized sand round yard and jumping paddock!
But the best news.... this isn't just a great benefit to our wonderful agistee's on the property - we are now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
Unfortunately we are at max capacity with agistment (Plus a wait list of 6), but our facilities can be hired day or night by anyone!

Before we get to some other exciting news - we would like to thank the following people / Business's who have played a part in project "Let there be Light"...

Zac Johnson (Welding) & Ryan Johnston (Concrete)
Each of you played a huge role in bringing this all together and we cant thankyou enough!

Not only are we open to the public for facility hire day and night, we are also working closely with 2 fantastic equine coaches. Both who live less than 5 minutes from Kilburn, and both offering a different range of expertise! we are supporting these 2 great coaches by offering 50% reduction in arena hire to anyone taking lessons with them.

Kerrie Bell
Specialising in biomechanical movement of horses and rehabilitation. with a background of:
10 years natural horsemanship
10 years body work as an equine sports therapist
12 years classical dressage
Kerrie is a past agistee of Kilburn's and a fantastic mentor and coach for people of all ages!

Danya Bye from Tindara Flats Horsemanship
Danya is an all round horse whizz! she puts buttons on your horse that you can then use when you ride - focusing on communication, Danya can educate you and your best friend in the following areas: Flexing, Lunging, yielding, standing to get into the saddle, respect, float training, horse health and much much more. Danya also assists in selling horses and regularly has educated horses for sale!

Both of these ladies are brilliant teachers and working with either of them will only improve your skills and your relationship with your horse. Please reach out to be put in contact or contact them directly!

Of cause you and your own coach can hire the facility at any time also. We will be planning to have clinics over the summer period and both of the above coaches may well be present - Watch this space.

Last but not least keep your eyes peeled on our page! we have some MASSIVE plans for 2024! we are currently in the planning phase or running our own Kilburn Lodge Gymkhana and ODE! We are partnering with our awesome friend (and Agistee) Maddi Stewart Check her our on insta (.equestrian)
We have already found and signed up a few highly experienced judges and will be offering this as an annual event. Open to all with rings from basic novice classes all the way up to advanced open classes, this is going to be an event you want to be apart of! there will be some excellent prizes, Kilburn Lodge Gymkhana ribbons and much more!

Kilburn Lodge Equine Agistment isn't just a place to Agist! were all things equine and are here to support you and your pony/horse enjoy this fantastic hobby.

We started work on our next mission today!
Let there be light ✨️!!!
Our 60 x 20 dressage arena will soon be under lights, ready for evening and night work.
This will be a fabulous addition to the property for our agistees and of cause, the arena and jumps paddock are regularly available for hire to the public 😀 🐎

Well it's been a long time coming but winter is looking alot more comfortable at Kilburn Lodge with the addition of a new tractor.
Thanks as always to our amazing group of agistees... 17 of the best owners with 21 horses on the property!
All looking out for each other, and providing education, support, training and laughs every day.

24 hours with no power and 5 trees down !! What a mess!!! Big clean up job today - made 100 x easier with my marvellous agistees turning up in numbers with Ute's, trailers, chainsaws and gloves to all pitch in and get the job done! Massive thankyou to those who helped would of been a nightmare without you 🥰 Team Kilburn for the win ❤️ Bon fire night has just been made even bigger 😁🔥🔥🔥
