Up Top Acres

Up Top Acres Up Top Acres designs, builds and operates commercial rooftop soil farms in the D.C. metropolitan area. Up Top Acres is reimagining what a farm looks like.

We grow food on roofs - converting neglected spaces into viable sources of income and environmental safeguards. We create spaces for communities to interact with and learn about food, in order to establish agriculture as a fixture of city life.

Returning for its second season, the garden at 2112 Penn is shaping up to be as bountiful as it is colorful. The Monarch Waystation habitat has come back to life with milkweed emerging from the soil, joining annual flowers like California poppy, statice, and strawflower to feed pollinators of all kinds. And, with over 300 linear feet dedicated to growing vegetables on this roof, 2112 Penn harvest tables this season will be filled with tons of fresh veggies and herbs for tenants to enjoy again this year!

Change is in the air, and we at Up Top Acres are thrilled to unveil a transformation that captures the essence of our journey, our vision, and our commitment to cultivating sustainable urban spaces. Today, we are proud to announce the rebranding of Up Top Acres.

Since our inception, our mission has been to revolutionize urban agriculture by transforming underutilized rooftops into vibrant, productive farms and green spaces. We've been sowing the seeds of change, quite literally, atop the concrete jungles of our cities, bringing life, community, and sustainability to the places where it's needed most.

As we've grown and evolved, it became clear that our identity needed to reflect the depth of our purpose and the breadth of our ambition. Up Top Acres embodies this spirit of upward mobility, innovation, and connection with the spaces above us and around us. It represents our commitment to elevating urban living, one concrete space and garden at a time.

But our rebrand isn't just about a fresh look—it's a reaffirmation of our core values and a promise to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible in urban agriculture. Here's what you can expect from the new Up Top Acres:

1. Bold Innovation: We're not just building gardens on rooftops; we're pioneering new methods to maximize efficiency, sustainability, and productivity.

2. Community Empowerment: Our farms aren't just about growing vegetables—they're about growing communities. Through partnerships, education initiatives, and community events, we're fostering a deeper connection between people and the food they eat, while empowering individuals to take an active role in shaping their local environment.

3. Environmental Stewardship: Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us—it's a way of life. From using renewable energy sources to minimizing waste and maximizing biodiversity, we're committed to operating in harmony with the planet and leaving a positive impact on the world around us.

4. Beautiful Design: Aesthetics matter, especially in urban environments. That's why we're dedicated to creating spaces that are not only productive but also beautiful and inviting. Our designs blend seamlessly with their surroundings, enhancing the urban landscape and providing oases of green in the midst of the city.

5. Scalability: Our vision extends far beyond the rooftops of a few buildings. We're on a mission to scale our operations, bringing the benefits of urban agriculture to communities around the world. Whether it's a small-scale rooftop garden or a sprawling urban farm, we're ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow's cities.

At Up Top Acres, we believe that the sky's the limit when it comes to reimagining urban spaces. With our rebrand, we're signaling our commitment to pushing the boundaries, challenging the status quo, and cultivating a brighter, greener future for all.

Welcome to Up Top Acres. Let's grow.
