Life with Cornish. Volume on....
Gotta love it when they entertain themselves....
I suspect this may have something to do with why my robot vacuum is so ineffective....
Fred is completely irrepressible.
At 1 point I desperately wanted to find a home for him - I could tell he was not what I wanted for the breeding program or for show.
It is one of the happiest and best things ever that no 1 wanted him. They have no idea what they missed out on, and I am so grateful that they all passed on him.
Just FYI, Fred is a NEUTER. :) Just...one of the most amazing cats. He is a full-blown therapy cat, by his own choice.
Your morning dose of cutes!
More Willow....because who could ever get enough of our little shoulder dragon???
Axel's son was supposed to get a "big boy" name....eventually.
But first he was called "mini Flops" because he looked so much like his dad and liked to "flop" like his dad. Over time, he grew and got called medium flops....and still no "real" name. And now he's just "Flopser". :)
Edited to add - Please forgive Caldenia's undignified RUMP as she attempts to photobomb HIS video.
One of Ella's tiny Rexlets laments the fact that he cannot yet turn over!!! Hello little turtle. :)
(And yes, baby will get his very first nail trim later today!)
Ghibli
When you're really good at making friends..... :) Little Ghibli is settling in beautifully at her new home. :)
Took a few minutes for them to get the rhythm down....Zigby and Akari. Morning stroll.
Starting the morning off w/ a leisurely stroll. Tenzing's 2 kids, Shiro and Akari.
Do I need to say anything?? :)
Axel's version of working it....
Edited to Add - His seductive ways only got him 4 second-best-of-breeds today and no finals. Freya got the other one. (Best of Breed went to a Grand Champion that is also last year's 2nd Best of Breed in the world.)
Despite this display in EVERY ring, one judge acted terrified of him. He exclaimed something like "don't flop!" or "don't give me the belly"....something like that.
For context, a lot of judges don't like to see this behavior with boys because there's really no way to pick the cat back up without touching the abdomen. For many boys this is an erogenous zone, so judges really don't want to stimulate them. That can spur the boy to become aggressive.
So, I understand the overall concern......but I felt his response was over the top. Axel is NOT an aggressive boy. I understand the judge has no way to know that, but you can read the body language...
More importantly you can also entice him to his feet with a toy, rather than freaking out. Then just pick him up the way you normally would...
Axel did not feel like working for his kibble. :) this is the only time she actually got him on his feet as opposed to rolling :)
I foolishly entered 6 this weekend so I've been doing too much running to get much for photo or video. Here is Freya falling down the cat pole in the ring....
Little Freya in Bethany's ring :)
Axel after he flopped on judge Bethany Colilla's table and refused to work for his living;) He purred the whole time and biscuited but declined to climb the post. No he doesn't actually have to climb the post. :) but it does make it easier for the judge to see their pattern when they do....
