Another busy show weekend, and we did not have time to post properly. Willow had an amazing weekend, making every single final in the show!!!
We sometimes exhibit Ocicats and Cornish Rex in show competitions and in feline agility. This page is devoted to our cats and the wonders of these breeds.
We are in the southeast US and travel frequently for shows.

...."Silver.... did you knock over the awards?"
----
"Well, MINE aren't up here!! Worship me!! I'm da best kitteh!!"
----
"Honey... you didn't earn plaques or trophies .. you just got CERTIFICATES (CFA GP/ TICA QGA)....I can't prop those up on the hutch"
----
"But I'm da BEST kitteh!!"
Willow and Riley enjoying a lazy post-rain snuggle....
Freya sez Mommy is confused and there is no such thing as a "get up time" for kittehz....So what if this means she'll rampage all night...
Pulled some fresh scratching boards and beds out of storage and didn't even get 5 seconds to distribute them before the scouting party arrived. ...
We were WAY too busy to post yesterday as the show is moving very fast... but what a way to start today with Rowan being awarded her first-ever Best Cat! This is her very first show and she's still a "baby" adult at 9 months old. (the judge handling her is actually a different judge from this morning. :)
Due to severely constrained finances, we were only able to make it to a few shows last year.
Nevertheless, Willow was an absolute star. She Granded very quickly and then topped it off with an agility title and being best-of-breed in the alter category for our region.
We are so very proud of her and hope to do better by her this year!!!
Edited to add - THIS is Walker's full sister. Both spayed and neutered as kittens. So you can see why his coat development is kind of shocking compared to hers. :)
Still lamenting the fact that, out of all of his siblings, Walker has decided he just doesn't feel like growing the full Cornish coat. The head on this guy just blows me away and I keep thinking how he would have the most amazing show career if he would just get past the peach fuzz stage.
I would like to report that Silver is a total butthead for climbing up in my storage room, in the supply area, and kicking everything down to make a bed.
Sasha says....But I gets a hot dog too, right??
We thrilled to announce that Black Betty and Carob have BOTH achieved the title of Grand Premier in CFA within the last few weeks! Now on to TICA!
Why yes, we do put their beds IN boxes. :) As you can see, they approve. ..
I made bacon this morning, and the pan (and grease) is still cooling off before disposal is possible. Sasha is nothing if not opportunistic.....
Now I'm convinced he's just playing with me....
Heck of a weekend!!!! EVERYone we took made at least 1 placement!!
They don't even look a tiny bit sorry, do they???
Bluebelle LOVES it when mommy cooks....
Please don't make daddy move....
Lazy day snuggles...Monkey, Riley, Flopser, Harper
Umm, guys, there are dozens of beds and cat trees....
(This is right above the dishwasher, which was in a drying cycle...)
Life with Cornish. Volume on....
Solar sez - What?? Of COURSE I'm not the one that chewed through the bottom of the bag of pistachios, so they all rained down over the floor this morning!!!
This is the look of a boy that just got busted trying to steal momma's pizza!
Gotta love it when they entertain themselves....
Gosh darn those amazon deliveries!! Another mouth to feed!
Just kidding.... :) Belcolade (Like nearly ALL cats) has a thing about Amazon boxes...
Kids... that's not in position yet...
Walker and Peebs have opinions about my attempt to haul daddy off to bed.
I suspect this may have something to do with why my robot vacuum is so ineffective....
Fred is completely irrepressible.
At 1 point I desperately wanted to find a home for him - I could tell he was not what I wanted for the breeding program or for show.
It is one of the happiest and best things ever that no 1 wanted him. They have no idea what they missed out on, and I am so grateful that they all passed on him.
Just FYI, Fred is a NEUTER. :) Just...one of the most amazing cats. He is a full-blown therapy cat, by his own choice.

Axel's son was supposed to get a "big boy" name....eventually. But first he was called "mini Flops" because he looked so much like his dad and liked to "flop" like his dad. Over time, he grew and got called medium flops....and still no "real" name. And now he's just "Flopser". :) Edited to add - Please forgive Caldenia's undignified RUMP as she attempts to photobomb HIS video.
One of Ella's tiny Rexlets laments the fact that he cannot yet turn over!!! Hello little turtle. :) (And yes, baby will get his very first nail trim later today!)
When you're really good at making friends..... :) Little Ghibli is settling in beautifully at her new home. :)
Axel's version of working it.... Edited to Add - His seductive ways only got him 4 second-best-of-breeds today and no finals. Freya got the other one. (Best of Breed went to a Grand Champion that is also last year's 2nd Best of Breed in the world.) Despite this display in EVERY ring, one judge acted terrified of him. He exclaimed something like "don't flop!" or "don't give me the belly"....something like that. For context, a lot of judges don't like to see this behavior with boys because there's really no way to pick the cat back up without touching the abdomen. For many boys this is an erogenous zone, so judges really don't want to stimulate them. That can spur the boy to become aggressive. So, I understand the overall concern......but I felt his response was over the top. Axel is NOT an aggressive boy. I understand the judge has no way to know that, but you can read the body language... More importantly you can also entice him to his feet with a toy, rather than freaking out. Then just pick him up the way you normally would...
Axel did not feel like working for his kibble. :) this is the only time she actually got him on his feet as opposed to rolling :)
