CONGRATULATIONS WINNIE!!! Sweet precious Winnie found her forever home today with Nancy & John Hill! It was love at first sight!! Winnie not only loved them, she also loved all the wonderful smells that Roo's Holistic Pet Supplies has to offer! She got to sample some of Roo’s cookies & Winnie loves her treats!

She also loves to wander and smell nature! She will have a beautiful place to wander and smell at her new home plus a vacation lakefront home too! She will be in heaven!

Jillian, who you may remember was adopted a couple of weeks ago, came back to us because, having spent the first 3 years of her life in a puppy mill, she is slow to warm up to new people and new situations. We love her so much but felt like it would be best for her to go to another rescue who has had great success bringing these puppy mill mama’s out of their shell and helping them become confident, happy dogs. We want to thank Lisa from Pepper’s Hope Dog Rescue, for answering our plea for help! Under Lisa’s guidance, Jillian will blossom and will be able to find the perfect forever home. We’re so excited to watch her journey, and are beyond GRATEFUL to have Pepper’s Hope as a rescue partner!

SAUL & HIS BUDDY ELI JUST HANGIN’ OUT ♥️ SAUL UPDATE! Saul is putting more weight on his back legs now! He has added prescription muscle-building powder to his prescription high calorie food, diluted with water=power packed hydration meals! He was being fed with a syringe because he had trouble bending his neck into the bowl and he’d just give up. He is now drinking his “energy soup” by himself!!!!!

And he’s SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT 3 NIGHTS IN A ROW!!! = Mama’s getting 8 hours of sleep in and his restful hours are helping him rejuvenate and heal!
HIS EYES: Getting better everyday!

We received a call on Monday from a friend of the rescue, asking if we could take a senior dog who was losing her home, through no fault of her own, and had no where to go. We unfortunately are full and have no available foster homes, but we couldn’t bare to leave Prim homeless and alone. We quickly reached out to our rescue network, and had numerous offers of help. Today Prim traveled to Indy to meet her new rescue foster mom, Laura, where she’ll be spoiled and loved until she finds the perfect forever home! Thank you Sheila from Misty Eyes Animal Center for taking Prim and promising her a wonderful new life🩷. We are beyond GRATEFUL to have you as a rescue partner!

SNOW CHAMP!!! As you can imagine, Champ LOVES the snow! He obviously has Husky in his blood but never tries to escape like a typical Husky! He loves his home WHEN HE FEELS AT HOME!

Champ is STILL looking for a perfect fit. He will need a kind, gentle and patient owner. He’s very very shy until you gain his trust, then he’s a total lover! Several meetings with Champ are necessary so that he can get to know you, but he’s so worth it! Apply for Champ at gratefulrescue.org

Hi Friends! My name is Winnie. I am 8 years old and I am an Airedale/Norfolk Terrier Mix. Everyone says I'm beautiful. I was left at the local animal shelter overnight. MACS took very good care of me and then Grateful Rescue pulled me from the shelter and I have been under their care ever since. You may have seen me before but I just wanted to remind you that I am still waiting for my forever family. There are so many reasons to adopt me.

Notes from Author: Winnie is sweet and has a really nice disposition. Even though she is 8 years old and has some arthritis, she is still very active. Winnie sits on command and is very good on a harness and leash. She likes treats and loves to snuggle. Winnie is spayed, fully vaccinated, and on heart worm and flea prevention.

Please consider letting this beautiful girl into your heart and homes. We can't imagine her life before now but it is definitely her turn for her own home. OH MY HEART! CONGRATULATIONS TUDOR!!!!! Tudor was with us for quite awhile waiting for the perfect match! Today, he met them! Tudor loved them both, gave equal kisses & lap sits (yes he thinks he’s a lap dog!) AND to sweeten the pot, they brought him treats! It took Sarah Riester & hubby Tim about 2 minutes of meeting Tudor to say YES!!

If you remember Tudor’s story, he came to us off the “Urgent” list from IACS. He was a confiscate from an abusive home, heartworm positive and had a golf ball size tumor on his ear. We had the tumor removed & heartworm treated & he was healthy enough to start his new happy & SAFE life full of love!

We received a text from Sarah letting us know all is well at home and Tudor has already become the couch potato we promised!

We love you Tudor! Have a wonderful life you so deserve!

SAUL UPDATE: HE GAVE US A SCARE!!! A couple of days ago, we were terrified we were going to have to let our dear Saul go. Thank God in Heaven, he is with us and has made it through another hurdle.

He was sleeping soundly on Wednesday but it was time to go to Laser therapy with Dr. Calvert, so I had to get him up and dressed for the appointment. When he opened his eyes a little stream of blood came out of his right eye. THIS TERRIFIED ME! More often than not, that is really, really bad!

I then rushed him to Dr Calvert, who referred me to the VCA Ophthalmology Specialist. We all feared an impending rupture, or even a cancer putting pressure on his eyes. We all knew Saul’s heart and his overall health would not survive an eye removal. We feared this was goodbye.

Dr. Jost at VCA gave him a thorough exam and thank God it wasn’t a situation we feared. He has a corneal perforation that we will be able to treat with medication, daily drops & ointment. He will be on this for the rest of his life. She said he’s been dealing with dry eye for a long time, untreated, and the years-long neglect of this has caused the ulcers. The current ulcer is in his right eye and he has an old “self healed” ulcer in his left. He does have vision still, which we pretty much knew, but great to hear from an expert.

Saul is resting well and wondering why we we were all freaking out, but bless his sweet heart, remains .

WELCOME TO GRATEFUL MISSY! Missy was taken in by Muncie Animal Care & Services just about the same time our dear Amy Clevenger asked me if we have any Shih Tzus! Again, working together ended in a happy tail! Amy stepped up to foster Missy if we pulled her from MACS! I have a feeling this photo is with her new mama. Fosters ALWAYS have first right to adopt! I don’t think Amy is letting her go anywhere!
