Ever since we bought our first house, dogs and cats have been a part of our family, and I have viewed each one as my four-legged child. I also have two four-legged grandchildren. When I walk down the street and see someone with a dog, I have to go and meet it. Big or small I just want to love on them. That is why I love the dog parks. I can pet and love and play with all types of dogs. Spending ti

me at the park gave me the idea of caring for and walking pets. I have worked in medical field for 30 years and now want to spend my time taking care of the four-legged population of South Miami. I have two adult children that are my pride and joy. All of my pets have been recuses. I currently have two dogs, Grace (a mastiff/labrador mix) and Stanley (a ridgeback mix). I also have four cats, including Cringer (one of my dogs rescued from a shed), Chloe (who I rescued from the middle of a busy intersection), Jack (who I found across the street from my house), and last but not least Blue (adopted after her owner passed away). All of my pets get along. I have always made it a point to have them bond with each other. I have been very lucky in that respect. Our dogs lick the cats and the cats rub all over the dogs. Most of my experience is life experience with pets. But I have taken care of pets for friends and family. I have even taken care of pigs, donkeys, horses, chickens, lizards, turtles, rabbits, all on the same property. I am responsible, dedicated, and most of all an animal lover. I will take care of yours as if they were my own.

This is my beautiful sweet Ethyl. She showed up in our front yard early 2021. We think she was about a year old. So a few months ago we notice that the muscles on her head seem to be atrophying. We didn’t think much about it. I wish we did. I looked up her symptoms and there is an autoimmune disease called Masticatory Muscle Myositis. (Look it up) It attacks the muscles that affect her chewing muscles. The top of the head and jaws. Eventually, she won’t be about to move her jaws, due to this. Still not sure how we are going to feed her. This disease moves fast in the three weeks since i took her to get checked, she has losses muscle mass on her jaw. Specific blood work were drawn. Took 3 weeks for the results. I was pretty sure she had MMM. Steroids is the treatment for MMM. I wish i had insisted that she started on the steroids immediately on the first visit. Just to avoid any further loss of muscle mass. Anyway she has been started on meds and supplements to boost her immune system. All i can hope and pray is that I didn’t wait too long. And we she will respond to treatment. So I am writing this as a warning. Please if you see the muscles on your dogs head shrinking. Don’t wait, take you dog to the vet. Have appropriate tests done. Don’t wait to start treatment. The sooner you start the better. Ask your doctor to start the steroids. A three week treatment will not harm your dog if the tests are negative. And it will begin to stop the progression of this disease. It’s not a cure. It’s a stop gap. The symptoms may begin again. Then you start with the steroids again.

Just spent a few hours with my Cuz. I haven’t seen her in years. It was like no time had passed. I had a really good time. I won’t let years pass again to get together. Life is too short to not spend time with the ones you love. Love you Chuka. See you soon. ♥️

This is Bear he is one of Henry’s brothers. He is deaf but that doesn’t stop me from talking to him. I use a hand signals to tell him to come inside or out. I started with a treat in my hand at first with the signal. Now he follows without the treat. He looks like a grouchy old man, but he is really playful.
