I went to a shelter to get a dog and I saw this brindle laying on the hard ground. I made eye contact with him and he got up and he brought a tennis ball over. I asked to see him and I was told he was returned two times because he was too wild and cried all the time. When he was brought back to his cage he cried. It broke my heart. I told the man I wanted him. He told me I'd be sorry. When we got home I worked with him and changed things so he'd be comfortable. He has bad separation anxiety. Everything worked out. He's my pal. We play catch with tennis balls daily. His name is Popeye. 🤗❤

Newborn at home so the dog has to go .
For those who give up their dogs when they have a baby, I'm posting this photo of a family whose 15-year-old Jack Russel Terrier is treated as one of the children (because he was their first child) and who is the protector of his two human brothers and sisters.
Never use the excuse that you had to let your dog go because you have a baby in the family and the doctor advised you blah blah blah and other lame excuses.
Never abandon your pets. They are family 😍

"Thursday night,l was sitting in my garage smoking a cigarette. Horrible habit, I know. 4 young men rushed me, decided they wanted my car, beat me up, and wanted my
keys. I told them the keys were in the house. They decided to go in. What they weren't expecting were my 280lb Pit Bulls. They are sweethearts and the kindest dogs
you'll ever know, but protect their home and owner with finesse. My beautiful babies charged these a**holes and stood over me as I laid on the floor of my garage, forever
protecting me. They are rescues. Unwanted dogs. They saved my life. Please consider adopting a rescue.
They might save your life too."

Two kittens showed up at someone's home. They are unable to keep due to allergies and the landlord's no- pet policy. Is there someone who could safely reach out to these kittens? I was told that shelters are not accepting strays.

“While waiting to board our plane, my daughter was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say “hi” to everyone she could, until she walked up on this man.
He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him. He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.
This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes. Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her.
In a country that is continuously fed that it’s so deeply divided, I want her life to be filled with moments like this.
Joseph, thank you for showing my daughter what kindness and compassion looks like. Continue to shine your light in the world.”

So much respect for this woman!

I got my dog when I was just 19 years old and a single mother of 1.
I kept my dog.
I kept my dog even though I moved into an apartment and had to pay a $500 pet fee.
I kept my dog when my boyfriend and I broke up and he kept the apartment even though my new place didn't allow dogs.
I kept my dog when I ultimately had to move back in with my parents and she also was not allowed there.
I kept my dog when I had my second child. I kept my dog when his father put all of us through hell and none of us had anywhere to go.
I kept my dog when I had a penny to my name and we all ate nothing but buttered noodles for dinner.
Ten years later I STILL have my dog because she is the very start of the huge family that we now have.
Even though she's getting slow, eating less and turning grey I STILL HAVE MY DOG. I'm tired of hearing and reading about posts that say "getting rid of them because they don't like my new puppy" or "I want a new dog".
Commitment is commitment.
