GOOD WITH THE SMALL DOG AND CAT HE LIVED WITH, ONE YEAR OLD ACE HAS BEEN GIVEN THE EUTH COMMAND.
A truly great puppy Ace has no support, no interest. Good with the small dog he lived with, and CATS, Ace would kiss the 6 month old baby that visited his home. Ace, however, is afraid of strangers, that’s why this timid, sweet puppy was given a bad rap by the ACC. Ace was surrendered by his people because they have NO TIME for him! This is code for “we do not know what to do with this puppy and we cannot be bothered”.
Buying a puppy, and then dumping him like his life doesn’t matter, people have gone crazy. Everyday our hearts are broken looking at these dogs’ pictures and reading their stories. No dog is born bad, and no dog is born perfect. They have to learn, to be taught, human rules. They need time, patience and love, some more than others.
This puppy Ace, has been waiting for someone to choose him, to open their home for him. Today is his last day, this puppy who is TRULY GOOD with everyone, 2 legged and 4 legged, inspite of the fact that his humans never socialized him, and we wonder if they ever trained him. Now he’s a bigger boy, no longer the cute puppy they bought, they’re done with him. They don’t even care what happens to him, if his life is taken.
Read what volunteers say about this great puppy Ace:
At risk!! I love putting my hands in Ace’s soft, shepherdy fur, but unfortunately for me, aside from short bouts of wanting to cuddle, Ace is far more interested in playing with his toys than snuggling me! And that’s ok, because he’s so entertaining: running around the yard with his lambie, tossing it to himself, occasionally resting it in my lap as he chomp, chomp chomps. The only thing that gets his attention for more than a few seconds are some enticing treats and then he’s back to play, play play!
Ace was surrendered for having no time. When he first arrived, he was so fearful he’d dodge the leash, pressing himself to the back of his kennel. Even when attempts to get him out were successful, he’d thrash about or spend his entire time in the yard pressed against the wall. But gradually, he started warming up to familiar handlers. We start to see notes of “soliciting attention, leaning into handler for pets, engaging with toys” and simultaneously a braver Ace begins to emerge. In Ace’s former home he lived with a small dog and a cat and got along well with both. He loved playing at the dog park. His favorite snacks are beef jerky, peanut butter and strawberries. Ace is also noted to have some difficulties with his back legs and will need follow up vet care. Ace is at risk for guarding behaviors exhibited both in the home and in the shelter. Due to that and his initial fearfulness, he is in need of a New Hope rescue and foster. You can express interest by filling out the prescreener from linked in our bio. Ace is 1 years old, 75 pounds and his ID is #197403
Please help Ace find his angel. He needs to be seen, how good he is needs to be told. The ACC will not give him another chance. They are in a rush to kill. He needs a home with experienced owners due to his being under socialized and fearful. That is all. Please help this beautiful puppy boy !
