November is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month! ❤

06/11/2022

We cannot thank Renee Fontaine and Scott Troilo enough! They dropped off 1,120 blankets and 10 new large dog beds at our East shelter this morning! Renee holds an annual blanket drive for shelter pets and collected these donations. It truly warms our hearts. ❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

COMING SOON - MY NEW (CONTROVERSIAL) ONLINE SERIES

The time has come. Exposing those who claim to be "dog lovers" yet behind closed doors, they use and abuse Man's Best Friend for monetary gain with no regard to the health and well-being of our four-legged friends.

In this investigative podcast and web series, my hackles will go up and the fangs will come out as I speak the raw truth about those who break the trust and spirit of those creatures who love us unconditionally. And all for the almighty dollar!

Stay tuned for this FREE series that will be available right here through my online network, "The Rabid Reality" (https://www.crowdcast.io/tiamariatorres)

🚨Safety Net Fosters Needed!🚨
Are you interested in fostering but aren't sure where to begin? Well then we have just to program for you! Our Safety Net foster program assists owners who are facing a temporary crisis including but not limited to eviction, domestic violence, hospitalization, etc. Safety Net foster commitments are short term and since they are owned pets, are not required to be marketed for adoption.
This week, Safety Net has seen an exponential increase in need for temporary assistance from pet owners and we are urgently seeking fosters to help place pets as quickly as possible. If you are interested in helping, come on down to the shelter today!

Funny... but good to know when traveling

28/06/2022

It's that time of year again! The monsoon storms are here and may continue to pop up with little advanced warning, so we'd like to share a few tips to make sure your furry family members stay as safe as possible:

☔️ Keep your pets indoors! During storms, outdoor pets may run off or be harmed by flying debris, and during clear weather they're at severe risk of heat stroke. The dust that becomes airborne during storms can also make outdoor pets more at risk of Valley Fever.

☔️ Create a safe place where your pet can hide away if they feel scared, with some of their bedding, food, toys, and fresh water.

☔️ Turn on a radio or TV to provide calming background noise that helps distract from the noise of the storm.

☔️ Make sure pet is microchipped and wearing a collar and ID tag with your current contact information.

☔️ If your pet shows fearful or anxious behaviors, don't punish them. Offer positive distractions like treats and toys, and help show your pet the storm isn't a big deal by displaying calm behavior.

(And remember to drive with care and don't rush - your pet is counting on you to arrive back home safely! 🏠❤️)
