We have 64 tickets to the Essex North Pole Express up for grabs! Proceeds from each ticket directly benefit our rescue. This event is completely SOLD OUT so what an amazing opportunity if you missed out on tickets this year.

Beer 🍺 with the Beers 🍻!!

Saturday November 16, 1-4pm, come meet our babies and support our cause and our favorite local brewery.

The beer litter will be 8 weeks old and applications are rolling in. Many will hopefully get adopted that day so come and meet them before they go!

We will have our new merch that we sold at Tattoos for Rescues there (we only made a limited amount for that event and it sold out so you won’t want to miss it!).

Excuse the dead mums, TK hadn’t been home for weeks prior to this shoot so there was no time to water them. 😅😅😅

Our kids are 4 weeks old right now! We assume daddy was a Blue Heeler/Cattle Dog of some sort with all the ticking going on but we truly don’t know what type of mutt momma is. DNA test has been ordered and results will be here within 3-4 weeks, right in time for adoptions.

We will be accepting applications around 6 weeks old and will be looking for fosters when they are 7 weeks old! Adoption event on November 16 at !

There will be a $25 cover charge at the door, cash or card. Your donation will cover all drinks donated by and food catered by !

Flash tattoos are $100 first come first serve. You will be put on a list and we will contact you when the person ahead of you is getting tattooed. Pick from any tattoo on the flash sheet by the incredibly talented , they will be printed and ready in multiple sizes to choose from. Arms and legs only.

Good morning, happy Sunday! 🌞

The crew went to the convention on Thursday to check out new products in the pet food industry. For those that don’t know, I (Rikki, in the middle) have spent 15+ years in the dog industry, have a college degree in animal science, and have worked in multiple pet retail stores and daycares furthering my knowledge on everything dog.

I opened a dog boutique 3 years ago to offer my daycare clients the very best products for their pups to live long and healthy lives. It feels even better that I get to offer that expertise to the rescue dogs. They are fed the highest quality kibbles to get things going in the right direction since they most likely have eaten Beneful, Pro Plan or garbage for the beginnings of their life.

is extremely knowledgeable in home cooking for her dogs and Ben has years of experience in nutrition from owning a holistic pet store! We are a fully equipped team over here at Outrider.

Best part of the convention was visitors our good friends over at to check out their new bulk boxes and more! We are so proud to be apart of their journey and support them through all their new adventures and products.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Gizmo gets adopted today, Monty/Gumbo has a meet and greet, our newest arrivals from last week have settled in wonderfully and we are still working hard on our upcoming fundraiser.

Meet Lucy! 🫶🏼

Lucy is a 5-6 month old mini doodle mix. She came from the same puppy mill that we rescued Nugget and the tenders from. She will be small, approx 20-25 full grown!

Lucy has been doing great since her arrival. She had little to no human contact for the first months of her life but is proving to be a very silly and happy girl! She will be great with cats, other dogs, kids and anything thrown her way. She may be shy at first but she’ll quickly show you that amazing personality she has when she warms up and trusts you!

This is a bit behind the curtain but Rikki and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary on Wednesday and she gave me a gift I felt compelled to share.

Many of you know that Outrider’s logo is not some random dog but it’s the face of Judah, our white German Shepherd. I rescued Judah when he was about a year old and he spent the next thirteen years by my side teaching me more about dogs and about life than I ever taught him. He passed away a few years ago and it’s still difficult for me to talk about because of how much he meant to us.

As Judah was getting older, it became increasingly harder for him to assist me in training so other than the occasional seminar or school visit I decided he would be happier at home. This left a void in more ways than one. I was not used to driving around alone all day and having a dog with me is crucial in the course of my work.

A friend of mine sent me a post about an out of control Belgian Malinois in need of rescue. I completely dismissed it. For the record, people send me these things daily so its kind of hard to consider them seriously. Although I knew I needed a new training dog, I wasn’t really ready or even looking. But this dog kept creeping back into my mind. For the sake of brevity I went to go meet him, he was an absolute terror, and I instantly fell in love. There was a period of time where they were both around and Rikki tells me that Judah told him, in their own way, that it was his turn now.

When Judah passed away it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with to the point that, in full transparency, I’m crying while writing this, but Hatchet being there helped. I love all my dogs but there are two dogs that have meant more to me than anything.

This picture to me is the artistic rendering of Judah passing the baton. It is a painting of my heart. This might be the best gift I’ve ever gotten. - Ben

Our sweet tenders are 8 weeks old and will be adopted within the month!

It’s been a ride, they got extremely sick off of unfortunate circumstances but they bounced back and are stronger than ever. 💪🏼

We will be finalizing families within the next two weeks. It’s been extremely hard to navigate the popularity of these types of dogs so I’m sincerely sorry if you were hoping to adopt one.

Thank you so much for the love and support with this group, we look forward to them taking the next big step in their life, adoption day! 🫶🏼

Theo is home after 4.5 days at the hospital. 🤍

He still has a long way to go, he’s so skinny and needs help gaining back weight and muscle. He’s definitely a fighter, his parvo test came back negative today but we will still act aggressively to ensure full recovery.

Ben Garson’s Story.

“It has been over a decade since I first decided to dedicate my life to dogs. Since then, I have worked in the veterinary field, co-founded a rescue that to date has saved over a thousand dogs, helped create and build Dogology, but most of all, spent uncountable hours helpings owners rehabilitate their dogs. I have been invited into your homes, schools, businesses and lives. I've had the privilege of speaking to so many incredible clients, companies, students, and organizations. It has brought me to different parts of the country and introduced me some of the most amazing animals on this planet. I have had a lot of help in doing all of this and owe a great number of people immense gratitude. This is still in its infancy, but, I am excited to begin a new venture, a new offering. Outriders Dogs will have two primary functions, one, with the help of Mike Ouellette, is to take dogs into our care who would otherwise be considered unfixable, and rehabilitate them. Dogs who need to learn how to be comfortable with other dogs, humans, and their everyday surroundings. The other is to, with the help of Rikki Silvester, provide rescue, foster and adoption for dogs in need. I am excited about the future of Outrider Dogs and the prospect of helping more dogs, more people, and the community at large. While it will take some time for all of this to come to fruition, for now please enjoy the process of watching us grow and let us know if you’d like to be a part of our journey. Thank you, Ben.”
