Strong Support Birth Doula Services Emily Strong is a birth doula serving families in Tacoma, WA. She provides physical, emotional, and informational support to women during childbirth.

My name is Emily Strong, and I am a birth doula serving families in Tacoma, WA. I live in Tacoma’s hilltop neighborhood with my partner, our dog, and a community of wonderful friends. When I’m not working as a doula, I like to spend my time hiking with our dog, riding my bike, cooking and feasting with friends, and playing music. I am inspired by the incredible strength, wisdom, and power of women

and our bodies at the time of pregnancy and birth, and I feel privileged to witness and hold space for women during their birth journeys. I love being part of a community of women, and I feel my best when I am supporting someone with loving kindness. As your doula, I will strive to hold space for you on your birth journey. This means I will walk alongside you at every step without judgement, without trying to influence your choices or impact the outcome of your journey. My goals are to support you as you discover what feels right for you, empower you by sharing knowledge, tools and resources, and to protect and honor your birth journey however I am able. I would love the opportunity to meet with you as you plan for your birth journey and the arrival of your baby. Please visit strongsupportdoula.com for more information.

"allowing for a pause, a slowing of the moment of birth (no matter how this pause happens), gives women the time and space to integrate the work they have just done (labor and birth!) so that, when they are ready, they can turn their full attention to the next thing: the unhurried meeting, welcoming and snuggling in of this baby"

Some of my best lessons in what it means to hold space for people came from a palliative care nurse.
