We are a team of Dog Behavior Consultants, Dog Trainers and Puppy Class Instructors who stop most problems in one visit via Dog Psychology, positive reinforcement and many of the communication methods dogs use with each other. After rehabilitating thousands of dogs, we have only needed more than one session with less than 10% of our non aggressive or fearful clients. We also offer Omaha's best pup

py classes and in home dog training. We currently operate regularly in Omaha Nebraska (And surrounding areas) and Southern California (LA and OC), but also travel to other parts of the country on demand. We can help you put an end to: barking, digging, stealing, over excitement, door dashing, separation anxiety, dog aggression, pulls on leash, wont come, doesn't follow basic commands, house training, crate training, etc.

Asher comes in for daycare, and while he is a big player and loves his friends, he was the first one here today and so we got practice in chewing and being calm in the room! Which is practice we want all dogs to have, Asher was lucky enough to have Skylar hang out with him and his room attendant this morning! We love ya buddy! Thanks for spending Friday with us!

In 2018 David was hired to help a six-year-old blue heeler mix who is having difficulty with the families newly ambulatory child; isolating himself and hiding under the bed once the child started to walk.

Today there was a development and David took a few moments to reflect on it.

“I started off the dog behavior session by running through the normal litany of questions I ask to determine what’s going on in a Dog‘s life and couldn’t come up with anything aside from the dog was avoiding the child.

I decided to take him outside for a walk to see if being away from the home could give me any clues. The instant we walked outside the door, his demeanor dramatically changed. He stopped hunching over, his tail was wagging, his ears were up, his eyes were blinking he was sniffing the ground, giving me little licks and communicating he was happy to be alive.

As soon as we returned home, he immediately regressed back into his former state the instant the door closed.

I had to have a difficult discussion with the guardian, a wonderfully selfless woman named Melissa. She wanted what was best for her dog and pressed me for an honest answer 

The child wasn’t doing anything wrong, just growing up and the dog, named R***r at the time, was just scared of children. Many dogs who are not socialized around young children are anxious and fearful around them so this is very normal behavior.

What the human did however, was not. Melissa told me that if they were not the right home, she would be willing to allow me to find that for him. She told me this with tears in her eyes. This wasn’t somebody who was looking for an easy out, this is someone who is willing to sacrifice their own personal “wants” for the betterment of the animal.

Someone who rehabilitates dogs, it’s unfortunately rare to see someone who puts themselves second. Who truly loves their dog enough to except that being away from them maybe what’s best for the dog.

At the time in 2018 I had become friendly with the intake coordinator Amy with my favorite Dog rescue in Omaha, Little White Dog Rescue.

Amy’s family had little dogs so I didn’t think it would be a good match but since she was very experienced and wanted to meet R***r, I brought him over.

That short visit turned into the forever home that R***r, renamed as Oliver, deserved. 

He fit in with their dogs and family like white on rice. It always brought a smile to my face when I would get a text from Amy with an update about Oliver.

Sadly, this morning’s update about Oliver was the one that every dog owner fears. Oliver passed over the rainbow bridge, leaving a big hole in his family’s heart.

I wanted to post a little tribute to him as well as the kindness and generosity of both Melissa and Amy for different reasons. Melissa for sacrificing her own wants and needs for the betterment of her dog. And Amy for taking in a dog in need and giving him everything he wanted and deserved.

They both opened their hearts for this amazing dog and because of that, he was able to have a loving, full and enriching life.

RIP Oliver. You made a lot of impact on a lot of people. We can’t wait to see you on the other side.”

He’s learned to stop being afraid of the collar, that it’s safe to go through doors, it’s better to sit to ask for attention and barking and it’s OK to meet new people. we’re going to miss working with you but are so happy to hear that you feel more comfortable in your new home.
