Penny doesn’t let missing a leg slow her down. She loves everyone so much ❣️ she was very worried about where the puppies were being taken to (vet appointment) so she was oh so glad to see them come back okay.

Who can give Penny all the love and spoiling she deserves? It’s really not too difficult. She loves soft beds, treats, regular meals, and lots of telling her how pretty she is 😉.

Lilly is a 7 year old terrier mix. She was returned at no fault of her own. She has done great in foster with people and dogs. She loves attention, couch and porch time and snacks! Unfortunately she does have a heart condition that will require life long medication to manage.

Reba is ready for a little break from the heat! A couple of our lovely volunteers donated some new toys to get her work out some energy! You can see she was thrilled! Reba is such a fun, happy, goofy dog. She's potty and kennel trained. She's fostered with 2 kids and 5 dogs. She sleeps free at night and sleeps in bed with someone or on the couch. She truly is a lovely addition! Her only enemies are cats, w**d eaters and 4wheelers!

Someone give Reba the life, commitment and loyalty she deserves!

🥁 Introducing Ben & Jerry 🥁

These two were left outside when their owners moved away. Momma did her best, but they had no protection against the ticks and nature. The finders were so great and put flea and tick medicine on these boys. In a short time the ticks and fleas were dead, however several ticks had burrowed into the skin. Ticks removed, sores cleaned, lots of nutritious puppy food and these two are feeling much better already. They go to the vet on Tuesday for evaluation.

🚨spay and neuter your pets🚨 this was one of 5 surrender requests that were officially filed. Several more requests come into our volunteers without going through the rescue every day. We simply Don’t Have Room!

🚨Prevention is important🚨 flea & tick prevention can prevent not only infestations, but also tick borne illnesses! Heartworm prevention can help your dog live a healthy life. Heartworms can lead to heart failure and death even with treatment!

Coby sure got a suprise when Cisco welcomed him to the pack 🤣. Coby’s foster is out of town this week so he came to stay for a little while! He has now met all 7 other dogs and has done very well with all of them! He’s a playful & lovable guy. He gets the zoomies often, and acts like a playful big puppy. Cisco has finished his puppy vaccines and so he’s gotten to do some socializing over the last couple weeks! He’s doing so great! He plays with all of the large dogs in his foster home, AND respects the older dog who doesn’t want to play. He does great in the car, and loves getting attention and playing with toys.

For 3 YEARS & 10 months, this incredible girl has been waiting for her perfect home. She deserves a fresh start! 🏡❤️

Betsy is potty and kennel trained, a loyal protector of her yard and family, and gets along with male dogs! Before she came to us, she lived a tough life on a chain and found herself pregnant in July. She raised her babies (all adopted!) and now enjoys car rides while waiting for her forever family.

💥🐶💥Birk was returned to Rescue K-911 at no fault of his own. BUT Birk is now searching for his new family! He’s incredibly good for a puppy, but he does have a LOT of energy! I mean Aussie, Border Collie, GSP, what do you expect!?!? I know his family is searching for him so please share!

It wasn’t looking good for Coop! Abandoned and starving she was found in a chicken coop but luck was on her side! An amazing foster immediately said yes and took her in! She put on some weight and learned how great it could be to be a loved family member!

This isn’t where her story ends however it’s just the beginning! A former adopter saw her picture and came to meet her! Coop (now Sophie) is living her best life with her fur sister Ruby & all the dog beds & toys she could ever dream of!

This is why we rescue! We may not be able to change the world but we can change that one dogs world! Thank you for adopting, donating and supporting our little rescue! Happy tails Coop (now Sophie) we love you baby girl!

Etta James is a strong soul who overcame early challenges and is now looking for a foster home! Born with deformities, she found herself on the streets until a kind-hearted dog lover rescued her. Now, Rescue K-911 is helping her find a loving family.

Etta is still shy around people, despite being in foster care since last winter. She thrives in a calm, adult-only environment where she can take her time to warm up. Interestingly, Etta absolutely adores the company of other dogs; she feels most comfortable and happy when surrounded by her furry friends.

We're looking for a special foster home that can continue to socialize Etta and help her build confidence in a family setting. Could you be the one to provide her with the love and care she deserves? Leo has a tough story that unfortunately we will never have access to every chapter to. He is a 4-5 year old Cane Corso mix. We think. He was in Wichita on the euthanasia list for heartworms. He received treatment sorin 2023 and is heartworm NEGATIVE!! He was found as a stray in February 2023 and his owner did not reclaim him. Leo has exhibited a fair amount of fear reactivity. He bonds hard with the right person but he needs a routine. Change can be upsetting for anyone but it seems to hit a sensitive guy like this harder than usual. He needs to know what to expect. Leo NEEDS to be able to trust that you know better than he does. If you're uncertain, he is too. Leo is big on the communication scale. He is extremely expressive with his body language, eyes, ears, face, noises. He's giving us a lot of hints that people who hold things up in his direction are scary. People that corner him are very scary. I can't say I blame him obviously but it's been a long road to get to know him and gather information. Leo is looking for a specific stubborn, strong willed, kind, understanding person with no kids or animals. He has been indifferent towards many animals but within the home he is very protective of his things. He loves car rides, couch lounging and to sun bathe in the backyard. I know this type of home is a STRONG reach so we need YOUR HELP!!! Share far and wide please, please! K911foundation

🐾 Rebel! This resilient pup was picked up as a stray after dodging animal control for some time. He was found with a limp and, upon examination, it was discovered that he had been shot. Miraculously, he survived, and the remnants of what is believed to be a bullet have been surgically removed.

Rebel is now in a foster home, where he's learning to trust and gain confidence. He's a sweet young boy who deserves a patient family and a fenced-in yard where he can feel safe and loved. Could you be the one to give Rebel the forever home he deserves? 🏡💕

Rusty and Penny got to hang out for a bit yesterday! Rusty is a high energy 3 year old who loves to play with other dogs! Penny wasn’t quite stable enough on her back leg to keep up with him for very long, but they had a great time playing on the floor 😂. Penny is a calmer 6 year old who still loves to play with others who aren’t quite as rambunctious as Rusty. She is doing great with heartworm treatment! Both are ready for adoptive homes!

🎶 Oh Happy Day🎶
🎉Traeger found her furever family! 🎉

Traeger fought so hard through Parvo and was so ill. She kept us all on edge for days, but she fought hard and pulled through. Now we are so happy to announce that this sweet girl gets to grow up with these two sisters! We couldn’t be happier that she has found her furever family.

We would also like to Thank all of our donors, fosters, vet staff, and volunteers who make it possible for us to save puppies like her ♥️

Joanna and her sister made it out of a rural shelter where they had no chance of survival and into Rescue K-911. She is such a lovable girl and such a snuggle bug. We are so excited for her future being the center of attention in her new family. Happy tails sweet girl!

Cisco did so well at a visit to AdventHealth South Overland Park! He loves people and has done well with the dogs in his foster home! He’s growing up into such a good boy ♥️. Reminder he is kennel and potty trained!

Harley would love to be that “weirdo that you wake up to every morning.” He plays with other dogs, although it takes some time for him to warm up. His biggest love is his people though! This boy is 3 years old, potty and kennel trained (although he does fine without it), and wary of strangers…..what else can you ask for! He’s the perfect dog if you want to feel confident while out walking or running, in a new house or perhaps live by yourself and want to feel more protected. One Paw at a Time

Rescue K-911 sprang from one woman's desire and passion to help animals in need. She started small, only being able to save a few animals at a time. Her favorites were/are the scared dogs hiding in a cage that never get a second glance. Bringing them into her home, showing them that they can trust and be loved, and witnessing their amazing transformations only added fuel to her fire! As her passion spread to others, they joined in her plight and the number of lives saved started to grow. With the dedication of fosters and volunteers, the non-profit has continued to steadily prosper, and each passing year, we save more!

Rescue K-911 believes that no matter what their size, shape, or story, all animals deserve the chance to live long, happy, and healthy lives. That’s why we work hard every day to be a lifeline to a better future for these pets. Because we know that with a little support, people and pets can build a bond unlike any other, creating happier lives for all involved. We know that each animal and family are unique and we pride ourselves on finding the right fit for the animal and the family!

Currently, Rescue K-911 is entirely foster based and volunteer run. Without the kindness and generosity of others, we would not be able to sustain our life-saving mission. Adoption fees for animals cover the standard care we provide each animal; vaccinations, prevention, spay/neuter, and microchips. Fundraisers like this one help cover the costs associated with unexpected medical costs when we take in a sick animal; labs, medications, dental surgeries, hospitalizations, etc. Those are the animals that need your help the most!
