A Brighter Day Animal Rescue League's mission is to assist in providing life-saving solutions for homeless animals. Our goal is to rescue in-need companion animals from scenarios that jeopardize animal welfare and provide necessary behavioral and veterinary care, including spay or neuter and find them appropriate homes.
We would like to thank Friends of Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks for having us at Yappy Hour Presents: SUP with Your Pup this weekend!
This event is always so much fun for our volunteers and rescue dogs. It allows us to socialize our pups and kick off event season at the beautiful Quarry Trails Metro Park!

Lil Bit has been spayed, vetted, and is ready for her furever home! 🥳
This sweet girl is approximately 10 months to a year old. She is currently 47 lbs. and is slowly putting on needed weight.
She loves snuggles, belly rubs, and ALL of the toys.
She is learning the world around her is not as scary of a place as her past. ❤️🩹
Lil Bit would benefit most from a patient, understanding, active household.
She is good with dogs and cats, with the recommendation of younger animals in the home to match her energy and play style. 🐾

Their new mom, Gianna, was looking for a bonded pair specifically and we could not be happier for them! She is patient and understanding of Cal’s needs as a more fearful cat and is providing the best possible outcome for this sweet pair. 🐾

OMG!!! (Old Man Grey!!!)
A Brighter Day has amazing news….
OMG was ADOPTED!! 🥳🐾
Our FIV+ rescue, “Old Man Grey”, now “Otto Maddox Gorgonzola”, was adopted Friday and we could not be happier for him!
Otto was adopted from a previous adoptive family who has adopted a cat from ABD previously. His new family is compassionate towards FIV felines and he couldn’t be luckier for it. He now joins his three other feline siblings, one of his new brothers being ABD alumni, “Bubbles”, now “Tate”.

Special appreciation goes to the ABD leadership and our amazing volunteers who helped coordinate, execute, and ensured everything ran smoothly. One volunteer travelling many states to be there!! Not only did this event help control feral cat overpopulation, but it also served as an invaluable learning opportunity for the next generation of veterinary professionals, only strengthening the future for animal welfare!🎓

KAT WAS OFFICIALLY ADOPTED!! 🎉
Kat has a morning routine full of zoomies and playtime while her mom has meetings on her laptop. Followed by snuggle time, watching movies on the bed at night.
Her personality is blossoming more each day and she now has a furever home full of love.
Last December, Kat was abandoned in the cold in a cardboard box. Now, thanks to the amazing League of volunteers and fosters, we have found her the best life.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Kat during her journey to this moment. Every little loving gesture changed and saved her life!

Introducing Old Man Grey!
Although only about 4 years old, this old soul found his way into "The League" through one of our independent TNR partners. This gentle giant is steadily gaining confidence as he enjoys the luxuries of indoor life; food on a schedule, long leisurely naps as well as the general warmth of the indoors.
So far, we know that his favorite things include food (duh!), belly rubs and chin scritches but we are eager to learn more about our "Chonky" boy. He will need some time to settle in to our catio space at SOS of Ohio but he will likely be moving to his foster home - maybe even foster-to-adopt - very soon. Would you like to open up your home to sweet foster kitties like Old Man Grey?

Behind the scenes, they often face a unique set of challenges, including Emotional Labor, Trauma, Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, and the profound loss that comes with their roles. 💔 These are more than just terms; they represent the emotional and mental toll of caring deeply for animals in need.
🤯 Emotional Labor: The effort to manage and regulate emotions when faced with challenging situations. 🧘♂️
