😍Meet HUMPHREY, a happy, smiley big boy who had a great time during the Pups on the Patio Starbucks event. He’s 2 year old 69lb heart worm negative terrier mix who is a big puppy at heart. He's a sweet boy and has an awesome disposition. Humphrey gets along with other dogs, loves his people and giving kisses. Humphrey prefers older kids, 17 and up please. He rides well in the car and he walks nicely on a leash. Humphrey would love a home with lots of space since he’s a bigger boy, and a doggy pal who will romp and play, and continue to teach him doggy play manners. He takes cues well from other dogs, and can learn be an awesome playmate. Located in Hartsville SC please share this handsome guy.

GOLDIE💛 3 year old 40lb heart worm positive terrier mix is looking for her forever home. She arrived at the shelter in May with her 3 puppies and another younger dog. Such a sweet Momma, Goldie did a great job raising her pups, who have found homes and now it’s Goldie’s turn to be spoiled and loved by her own family. She gets along with other dogs, LOVES people and is great with kids. She has met several dogs in play groups and has done great with all, even teaching some of the rowdier teen pups to behave properly. Come on down and help Dave celebrate his 60th Birthday🥳🎉

This Saturday, September 13 at 7 PM, I’ll be celebrating my 60th birthday at Vintage Craft Beer and Wine Boutique. But the night is not really about me.

It is about the dogs and cats waiting at the Darlington County Humane Society. Pets who long for comfort while they wait. Pets who watch the world through the bars of their kennels, hoping someone will notice them.

You can change that. Not with grand gestures, but with something small. A blanket. A toy. A bag of treats. A simple sign that says, you matter, you are not forgotten.

Turning 60 is a gift. But the greatest gift of all is helping a homeless pet feel safe, loved, and seen, if only for a moment until a forever home finds them.

🧡One of our volunteers said “I got to meet Hemsworth today while volunteering at the animal shelter, and I absolutely mean I GOT to meet him, as in, it was a privilege to meet him. I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. I think I got all of the first date feels 😄 First I only knew his name, then I saw him and he saw me, I smiled… he smiled, a little flicker of “ooooh I want to get to know you”. I started to feel schmoozed with his hilarious demeanor- he thought he wanted to play with this other dog but only like 60% of the other dog, or whatever the percentage is for just the part of playing where he gets to lay on the ground and flop over a couple of times and then be done 🙃 We we’re totally in strong like when we hung out on the grass together - interrupted with maybe some jealousy as I saw Hemsworth in the lap of the another lady but the heart wants what the heart wants…I find myself totally loving Hemsworth as we finished up our volunteer time and he’s just laying in front of the fan patiently waiting for someone to notice him. Hemsworth doesn’t want to be the one that got away, he’s at the shelter just waiting for you to come get him! 🧡RAMBO is looking for his forever family. He’s a 4 year old heart worm positive terrier mix, who arrived as a very thin, underweight stray at 47 lbs. Currently in a foster home this handsome boy has been described as “perfect”. Rambo is a love bug and enjoys couch time and snuggles. Rambo is dog friendly, good with cats, is kid friendly, walks well on a leash, is crate trained and house broken. Rambo had a home at one time, he arrived with a collar on, and his ears had been cropped. I wish he could tell us about his past but he’s looking forward, hoping for a new loving family. He’d make an awesome companion for someone looking for a new best friend.

🧡BIG DOG LOVERS…this handsome brindle boy is Pork Chop and he’s available for rescue or adoption. Pork Chop arrived in May as a stray, and is just the sweetest guy. He’s a big boy too, lol, all 89 lbs of terrier blend, 1 year 3 months old and heart worm negative. He is dog, kid and people friendly, with gorgeous eyes and markings. Pork Chop is the kind of dog folks would take notice of on a stroll around town, he is so distinctive.

😍SMILE…Poppy always has a smile on her face, inviting one and all to be her friend, both human and canine. She’s a volunteer favorite, and is a 🌟🌟RockStar in play groups, and is considered a “tester dog”, helping volunteers learn about new dogs she meets, and help acclimate the newer dogs to play groups and put them at ease.

♥️POPPY is a 2 1/2 year old, 50lb heart worm negative terrier/lab mix, and such a great girl. Poppy is a beauty, with those distinctive, erect ears and beautiful black and white coat. ♥️DENISE 7-8 month old 30lb heart worm negative lab mix is available for rescue or adoption! Currently in a foster home Denise is a smaller girl who has this to say…”Little Denise here, just checking in…After almost 3 months in the animal shelter, working on getting braver and braver, I am now 5 days into foster life and getting the hang of it quickly, so my foster mom says. She is amazed that I haven’t had one accident in the house, whether I’m in the crate or freely roaming, which I earned the rights to pretty darned quick for being a good girl. I have learned a lot from my furry foster brothers and sister about house manners, how to use the pet door, and how much fun we can have playing and basking in the sun. I’m a bit afraid of the resident cat, so I avoid her for the most part. I am learning how to trust people and decided that I enjoy some ear scratchies and pats more and more every day. I love being part of a family and am hopeful that I get my very own family soon. I am not a very big girl, only 30 lbs at 7-8 months old so I don’t take up much room. I would love to have another doggie in my forever home to give me confidence, plus I just love other doggies to play and hang out with. I just need a little patience to help me grow braver each day, the gentle kisses and smiles and snuggles emerging make me very happy and I have lots more to share. I promise I am worth the little bit of extra time needed to get me more confident. I have lots of love to share. Please ask to meet me, Denise!”
