🐾🐾IGGY PUP had a fun time during his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure Saturday. His handlers said he was “Good with people, great with kids and very gentle and loving.” The 3 words to describe him were “happy, sweet and loving.” His leash skills are excellent, he was good riding in the car and enjoyed snuggles and kisses. Iggy is in need of rescue or adoption!

😍DIESEL HAS RESCUE😍

Diesel’s smile says it all…he enjoyed his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure on Saturday, a wonderful change from being in a concrete kennel. He arrived as an owner surrender (owner moved) in January with sibling Della, who has been adopted. Diesel is still waiting. He’s a 2 year old handsome brindle shepherd mix, 43 lbs and heart worm negative! Diesel is dog, cat and kid friendly.

🐾🐾Diesel got high marks from his PAPD volunteer handler🙂, curious, intelligent and active. He is a pretty good leash walker, enjoyed his car ride, the treats and pup cups, snuggles, kisses and being out in the sun and Kalmia Gardens. He met lots of kids and other dogs too. Diesel enjoys the water, while waiting to go out on the town he relaxed in the play yard pool. In play groups Diesel met both males and females, and loved volunteer attention. He learned to jump into our volunteers arms and would probably make a great agility dog. Since he likes water perhaps he’d be good at dock diving or learn to chase frisbees. Diesel is dog, and kid friendly! His owner said he’s good with cats, so won’t you consider him for your family? He’s looking for lots of fun times and then some love. Located in Darlington SC.

😧Poor Saint. Not only was this sweet guy abandoned when his people moved away, he has a painful eye that needs medical attention. Imagine blinking your eye and having inverted eye lashes dragging across it. That's what poor Saint has endured, but we want to fix that and help him be pain free. 🫧BUBBLES🫧 had a terrific time this past Saturday during the Paws Around the P*e Dee day out! She went to Purrs McBarkin', Kalmia Gardens and made the most of her time out around town. Her volunteer handlers for the day said she’s friendly, loving and happy🙂. Bubbles was well behaved around other dogs and kids, has pretty good leash skills, and knows how to sit! She loved walking, snuggling, giving kisses, treats and stopping to smell the flowers🌸🌼🌺. It’s hard to believe no one has asked about this little lady, she needs rescue or adoption soon, she is considered 🆘Urgent and At Risk🆘 due to severe overcrowding.

🐾🐾Bubbles was found in a crate at the office gate on January 30th. She is so very sweet and did great for her intake. Bubbles is a 1 year old, 43 lb, heart worm negative, spayed terrier mix who is dog friendly and ignored the yard cats.

❤️Bubbles is a great name for this smaller Iady! At just over a year old she is a friendly, happy go lucky girl. 🐾🐾Benjy hound had a pawsome time during his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure on Saturday. He especially enjoyed his pup cup at Wild Heart Brewing Company and spending time with his handler. Benjy arrived at the shelter in January and has now spent 157 days in a concrete kennel waiting for someone to notice him.

🆘Benjy is a 5 year old, altered, 40lb heart worm positive hound. During his field trip his volunteer handler noted Benjy is calm and laid back, walked great on a leash, is very treat motivated and is a sweet, snuggly guy. Benjy met friend Coal and after some initial play excitement they settled down and were happy to hang out. He was just as happy hanging out with Tootie, if you’re looking for a mellow dog to keep you company and maybe go off on a walk for some good sniffing Benjy is your boy! Located in Darlington SC.

❤️Chops was one of the lucky dogs who enjoyed his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure to visit Purrs McBarkin' and enjoy strolling the streets of Hartsville. His handlers said “Chops field tripped with us yesterday for Paws Around the P*e Dee and had a great time sniffing around and saying hi to people at the best pet store around, Purrs McBarkin' ! He thoroughly enjoyed his pup cup and the car ride”. Chops needs to hone his leash skills,
he pulled some on the leash, but it was primarily because he was exploring the world. He did not seem to have had much experience being outside of the kennel and he was fascinated with everything he saw and smelled. Other than that, he walked fine. Chops soaked up the attention from humans, loving and he is polite when meeting other dogs.

♦️CHOPS 1 year 10 months old , neutered, 56 lb heart worm negative hound mix is in need of a home! He was surrendered by his finder in January after spending time at the home. Dog and kid friendly, NO CATS for Chops. Chops is considered 🆘URGENT AND AT RISK DUE TO TIME ON THE YARD🆘‼️

❤️With a name like Dagger, you might think he’s a tough guy… but this fun-loving boy was “Mr. Popular” during play groups this weekend. He had such a friendly way about him when he met other dogs. You could tell the other dogs in runs were looking over as if to say, “I want to play with him!” He could go from running around playing chase with beautiful Lynn, to rolling on the ground with his new friend Barney so long that we weren’t sure if they were ever going to get up. He is sporting a beautiful wavy coat and a shorter tail, which is always an advantage when it comes to dog tails and drinks on coffee tables. Dagger is a polite leash walker, he doesn’t care about the cats on the yard, and seems eager to please his person. But he needs a person... ❣️”Romeo was brought in as a stray from animal control. He is such a sweet gentle giant. He did great for his intake and walked well on a leash. I chose his name Romeo because I’m certain when you meet him you will fall in love” said one of our vet techs about Romeo.

❣️Romeo has met males and females in play groups, very polite but a bit shy. He met Matthew and Peaches, both confident dogs, that did spark some interest from Romeo and some interaction. A note from one of our volunteers about Romeo….”Side note on Romeo, his kennel behavior is very different from this shy behavior in the play yard. He's very wiggly and friendly in the kennel.
