Play Time with Mister Rembrandt
Play time with Remy the pony.
17/10/18
Back at the barn, full of inspiration and excitement from Equidays. I couldn't wait to ride and of course, play with my boy Remy. It was insanely windy but that didn't stop me. All the horses at the barn were awesome, really not that bothered by the crazy winds.
Remy was no exception. He was a superstar! I wanted to do two main things with Remy that I had seen in the clinics at Equidays. One, changing direction on the lunge (Which is also something trainer Pete uses with starting horses). And two, have another go at the bridge.
Remy was a champion on the lunge, changing direction and turning his hindquarters when I asked. I was so proud of him! I also threw in time of asking no questions where he had to learn that he can just chill and stand still when I'm not asking anything of him.
We didn't quite 100% the bridge, but he pawed at it some more and went over it side on! I am so over the moon that he gave it a go. It was something Vicki Wilson mentioned when she was showing some young horses obstacles that they find it easier to go side on to things like bridges and hey, she was right!
Very proud of the baby pony. He fully deserved the Big Red's Stable Snacks I had waiting for him!
Thank you Anne for the videos! x
Leading Mister Rembrandt
Just a little clip of me leading Rembrandt.
Very important, Do Not Get Distracted! Wise words from instructor Lauren! (I was very happy though and beaming because….I was leading my pony!)
