Not long ago, I attended a jewelry show with a friend and was mesmerized by the volume of beautiful works of art at very reasonable prices. I found many aspiring new designers with amazing quality and creativity. Most offered better quality than what I had seen in high-end retail department stores—and I left the event excited to share my discoveries with the rest of the world. I came home from the
show with some items in hand, and quickly showed them to a few friends, and their response was incredible—they wanted to buy every single item from me! Around the same time I was working to help fund two of my favorite charities—Best Friends Animal Society and Wounded Warrior Project. So in exchange for selling these items to them at an extremely discounted price, I asked my friends if they would write a check for 20% to these charities that had become very important to me. They were more than agreeable to my request. I came off of that experience wondering if I could offer these beautiful products to a larger audience, and use the proceeds to help those who were in need—those who couldn’t help themselves. And after some consultation and encouragement from my peers, and some months of planning, Presents with a Purpose was born. The premise of our business is simple—offer beautiful, high quality jewelry designed by young up and coming designers at an extremely good price. In this way, we support a new blossoming business and donate the proceeds to a selection of charitable causes.
