After a very bad start to the day with the van breaking down, then my phone also breaking and losing a show lead (hoping that’s our 3!) it was nice to spend the day at the show to try take my mind off of the abandoned van 😅

⭐️ CRUFTS 2024 ⭐️

Akela’s first veteran class at Crufts and boy he did us proud.

Handled by his fabulous Co Owner Paige Hughes he went on to take
🥇 Veteran Dog out of 12 present and then overall Best Veteran Dog!

He was unfortunately marked absent from the challenge for best veteran in breed as it clashed with the YKC stakes.

He went in to the YKC stakes ring with Lauren’s help handling and came away with a fabulous 3rd!

Huge congratulations to Paige on her 1st with his beautiful sister Lexie.

Many thanks to breed judge Caroline Friend-Rees and YKC judge Mark James for thinking so highly of Akela.

Our wonderful handler and co owner Paige Hughes has been nominated for the junior Handler of the year at the Pawscars.

Paige is a fantastic handler and can work magic with any dog given to her.
Her attitude to showing and her politeness win or lose is truly inspiring.
She just loves being in the ring with the dogs and can always bring out the best in them.

A bit late making this post but better late than never 😅

Reka ( Siberiadrift Adrian’s Star Of Zimavolk VW)
In a class of 8 present managed to get herself a 3rd place in the Open B class.

This means that she has finally gained her;
🌟 STUD BOOK NUMBER!! 🌟

Absolutely over the moon with this result, this now means Reka is qualified for Crufts for life.
As some may know we nearly lost Reka when she was a youngster due to her eating mushrooms, so this stud book number really meant a lot to us 💖

As also unbeaten by another veteran she challenged the best veteran B winner and was awarded;

Had an absolutely amazing weekend at the AMWA Haughley rally. Day 1 went with a few mishaps. Firstly lead dogs were put on the wrong sides by me which caused them to try and push each other to get to the right side 🙈 We had 2 tangles out on the trail that I had to get off and sort and managed to put them back on the right sides. We had a fantastic good clean pass of Kelly’s team but then ended in another tangle. Day 2 went much better with lead dogs on the right sides. We caught the team infront of us but I wasn’t brave enough to pass so used them as a tow up the hills and in the way home. We managed to beat our day 1 time by almost 3 minutes, amazing difference when dogs in the right places and no tangles 😅 Huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and everyone being so friendly, it’s only the second working event we’ve managed to get to this year and it was thoroughly enjoyable 🥰 Clip is from our day 2 run, we’re not perfect but my team is making me extremely proud ☺️

Lovely quiet afternoon in the forest 🌲 Akela in single lead with Eclipse and Jyn in wheel. Eclipse is thinking the squirrels look like a nice snack 🫣 but I’ll keep working on getting her focused. Spot the kamikaze one about 10s in 😬🐿️

Such a nice, crisp morning for a run with these 3. Good for the soul and to clear your head 💖🐾
